Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

I wonder who that could be.
ARCHER-KO~

I am the bone of my sword...

:V

....I would cry BULLSHIT! But we're the pet of a Gilgamesh Magical Girl. So nevermind.

Holy shit, look at her base magic modifier.

She's supposed to be a significant character to show up later, but I felt bad for not being able to keep my promise to give you guys another chapter. I'll keep who she is exactly a secret, but I will tell you that she's supposed to be an expy of EMIYA.

And a serious Badass, but that's kind 'a obvious.

Since I can't get the next chapter out tonight as promised, have a free character sheet.

-Spend a single action to nullify an opponent's action. Can counter all but a single enemy action per turn.
Would have been a lot simpler to just go with Kuro von Einzbern, an official character who is literally Illya's suppressed memories of being a
Grail Vessel granted physical form by the power of the Archer class card.

XP-wise I'd rather hold off for now. Though I'm kind of partial to splurging and getting the shiny Echo.

Re: dying conversation: I dunno about the other one, but this one's just starting and there's not a lot of information to argue over just yet.

Closing voting in an hour, then writing up the next update.

I feel slightly sad with how quickly conversation dies in my quests. Feels depressing.

So everyone want to buy these? If possible I'd like to keep them separate from the actual votes for the next segment.

Need more updates.

Not right now TBH. Unless they'll be effecting the upcoming update, or there's specific 'ARMOR' training courses or something.

Not really. Or at least, not enough to matter. The most it'll do is probably make the 'testing' slightly less embarrassing for your character.

Anyway, turns out my pasting problem is only with SV and SB for some reason. Still working on that, so might call for a vote tally when I call it to avoid format screwing.

Not right now... alternatively "Whatever Lightmage says" I think might become our XP spending motto down the line.
That'd be funny as hell. Jut so long as he remembers to get everyone opinions.

I'd really like to buy those upgrades before the testing. Likely to make it a lot less embarassing.

Word of GM

Only SLIGHTLY LESS embarrassing.

Anyway my current sketched out XP plan is something along the lines of...

Flight Boost
-25xp
Allows Solid Core to create platforms on which to push off for aerial combat.

Solid Core: Iron
-100xp
Adds a resilience Modifier to base stats. Gants Ability: Solid Core: Armor Level 1.

280-125XP = 155 XP

Celestial Severance
-30 XP (Get to level 3)
Flight
-30 XP (Get to Level 3)
Solid Core: ARmor
-30 XP (Get to level 3)

155xp - 90xp = 65xp remaining

Thus we'll know the growth rate of the stats they effect. I can then put that in Excel and tell you guys what things will look like farther down the level tree.

I then will probably, depending on what they do propose a few 'build' plans.
Also probably post a XP tree of what we'll look like if we just bought to level 5 / 10 / 15 in each single ability / spell.

Of course if crystalwatcher just tells us in advance I can just do that now :D.

Anyway the reason I'm not voting in my plan yet is I'd like to see what day 1 of training is like first, and guesstimate the XP gain ratio over our training days. Oh and will 'improving' ourselves pre-training reduce the XP gotten via basic training (if any).

Having awesome stats is nice, but we need to remember that this is also a Quest/Roleplay, and as such we need to make a character who is interesting, entertains and likeable to get the best enjoyment we can out of this quest.

One benefit of getting Solid Core and Flight Boost now is that it is likely we will get some advice on using them. Solid Core in particular is noted as granting an Ability, so it is likely if we have it while training we will gain xp towards it.

We're pretty much running off of whatever we can imagine up. And fits with our Abilities/Affinities. (Judgement, Purity, Divinity, and Faith I think)

I already recommended the Judgement spell from the Tales series, Light magic exclusive to Angels in Tales of Symphnia that was large area random artillery pretty much. Variants/upgrade trees include Judgement Spear (think Ulquiorra and how he made energy spears to fight with in melee or throw or alternatively magic missile-esque pointed blobs of Light energy), a upgrade to that ala Gate of Babylon style, another one to make it act like Xemnas' last attack in KH2 (the laser sphere thing except they all fire at once, alternatively a much more numerous Hell Zone Grenade ala Piccolo), and Final Judgement for when you just want everything in a very large area to disappear (essentially one very giant Judgement Nuke Beam inspired by Nanoha). And I suppose a single person variant.

Closing voting. Tally please.

As you can see mine is still having seizures.

Of course, it's hard to enjoy a character if you have to re-roll up a new one because you ignored their stats. :p
Something many an X-COM player can tell ya~

Admittedly that's more of a, don't get attached to a rookie until they're not a rookie.

Another upgrade could be like the airborne combo finisher of Joshua in The World Ends With You............ Or Arceus' version of Judgement.............

Neither of which I have actually seen. So that explains that.
Arceus is the creator god of Pokémon, having the highest base stat total of any Pokémon (aside from certain Mega Evolutions......). It's signature move is named "Judgment".

Joshua's finisher for airborne combos is a bunch of giant, vertical laser beams (commonly known as "Jesus Beams" by fans).

Affinity: Purity | Faith | Divinity

Hmm, what do we know runs off FAITH

Hey Kanmasu come back via faith. And magic. Or close enough at any rate!

Fire is considered a purifying element of Purity. So shouldn't we get giant laser beams?

Also Divinity = Smiting = Orbital bombardment. Because that's smiting.

QUICK TO SPACE.

ORBITAL BOMBARDMENT OUR WAY TO VICTORY.

It's the only way to be sure.

... You accurately explain the idea of the attack behind the lesser known game, and inform me the game, that I'd have to actively go out of my way not to know exists, exists... without explaining how his attack works.

I'm honestly not sure what you're thought process was on this one, but I was referring to the attacks themselves.
