That's more House Bolton's weakness tbh. Their ancestral inferiority complex is their biggest weakness. They always seem to tunnel vision when it comes to the Starks.

Also I am not really comfortable of trying to have one Scholarium institution try and service the entirety of the North permanently considering that the population will expand and grow over the coming years. Like maybe four for the North as population balloons. But for now one is enough.
Geographically I would like Barrowtown for a second, but politically Winterfell might be better.
Regardless, that's future for now.

I also realized something just now. With the new system the Chosen actually have a chance to fight us...kinda. They have years to grow now rather than months.

I also don't just want one Scholarum branch having control of that service for the entire North. It's the size of the rest of Westeros. It needs multiple branches.

The Chosen are back at the ground floor, growing in power as individuals rather than as organizations, while our growth is measured in armies and entire industries, our inflow of wealth is that of national economies.

Without support from competing interests of ours, they are irrelevant.

I don't remember Roose making a deal for exclusivity in the North even if that is his ambition. I remember him making a deal that he'd be the first in the North to have a Scholarum Branch.

He did not explicitly make that deal, but he did pretty strongly hint that he wanted the first one in the region and the North is really poor in population.
He's getting the first one, as per that deal. But we will be putting Scholarum branches everywhere, including elsewhere in the North. Especially in the North, considering they're first in line for the Others.

A Scholarium branch is not a military outpost. Putting them everywhere with no hope of getting enough recruits to justify their existence is wasting resources by spreading everything out.

You know as I was thinking about the North and magic it occurred to me that you guys never did go to the Island of Faces to speak to the Green Men, given the faction name Roose Choose I might to an interlude there with them eventually.
