Why not stay, play the part of the greedy stone genie we are supposed to do, and get a contact in here? We can use sending to make suere the Oracle doesn't do anything funny meanwhile.

Remember that we have leverage in the form of the Oracle's familiar

I found myself liking Iradious and his command, and while I would like to cultivate them as a contact, just don't think they're as valuable to us as Xerfilstyx's knowledge is.

The choice here is false. This is a unique oportunity and Heronious will keep because we have his familiar.

[X] Stay during the interrogation. Heronious will appreciate the firsthand knowledge from the kidnapper and we still have his familiar as leverage.
-[X] Send a message to Heronious by sending: "I succeeded. I will play my part and participate of the interrogation. I only ask you to allow me to negotiate for the knowlededge later"

@Duesal Mind you, while Xerfilstyx has offered to compensate us, he has not promised to give out his lore without question or something in return. Furthermore I believe he is liable to be rather closed lip as a contact in turn if we don't prove preeminently competent and resourceful enough to outweigh his suspicion at our origin.

Granted we can dispel that by just revealing to Heronious who we actually are, it would be nice to have an in with the Garrison as well. I think we should stay because as @Tomcost said, there is a very good reason for Heronious to meet with us later, and I actually would bet on them being able to keep their head above water in this kind of place. They've done it for thousands of years and they tricked pretty much everyone at that auction.

To tell the truth, it's mostly because I consider this guy a more useful contact in the case that we end up back here not only to do business, but also to probe the dangers of the Void here for information and strategic advantage.

I'm not sure as to staying here not tripping any bells.
But sure, whatever.
Let's hope the Devils don't mind us listening in on the private info they are about to have the thief-devil spill here.

Ugh...
Who wants to bet we'll get another fetch-quest outta this, here and now?

So there still seems to be lively discussion, which I am happy to see, but it does mean I can't start writing yet, so how about this? I write and interlude not to post now, but later so as not to break up the narrative flow? We can then have a four update day at some pint in the future.

Well it covers the main problem I had which was focusing on securing the lore. I'm not exactly fond of keeping still when such valuables are being threatened, but I can't fault the logic too much, and if the situation was so dire that he'd die immediately I doubt Heronious would have been willing to send us off with the prisoner.

So is the teleport problem on this plane specifically related to the astral and ethereal plane being borked in this area, or is it more general than that? Door of Decay uses the NE plane as a conduit instead of either of those, so we could make some innocuous looking medium sized undead for our next trip, then deck them out in stealth/anti divination stuff and leave them in places we want to go back to. Alternatively, we could make smaller ones and shape shift into something smaller before teleporting, but that seems somewhat wasteful spellslot wise.

It'd certainly make sneaking around easier since no one really expects teleport to be on the table here.

It's still from the same school. If DP says that Conjuration in general is badly effected (he said the same for Dimension Door) you can generally presume he means all translocation, even the type that sidesteps into another Plane. Actually, probably especially the type that sidesteps into another plane and reappears on Heaven's Shore.

And just in time for an actual concensus
