As big as it needs to. Also hi you are a new face here. Welcome to the thread. Have you caught up?
I found out about this quest a month or two ago. I started reading with reader mode because no way am I reading 15000 pages of forum posts. Also no, I'm not. Between school, chores, and reading the fanfiction on my 30 other tabs, I only managed to get to page 202 of reader mode, so about three dozen story posts before Rhaella is revived by the Old Gods. I thought to check to see what year you guys are on and was shocked to see how much of the quest takes place over one in-universe year. If I focused solely on this quest and no other stories, I'd have been caught up and begun voting a week ago. As it is, see you guys on the voting floor in a month or two.
Welcome to the insanity.

We should definitely be done before you start drawing Social Security benefits.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was a sequel quest after this that would take another decade to finish.
Next turn goes into 294 AC.
Nope, still day 31 month 12 293 AC. By the way, are the months and days named in-universe; i.e. Monday, Tuesday, March, November; and do all months have 31 days? That would mean the year in Planetos is 372 days, a whole week longer than one of our non-leap years.
Yes, it is slower than molasses right now but focus is about to tighten up extremely.
What do you mean?
Grats, you are reading faster than most people do.
I know, everyone tells me that.
Yes, this has been an eventful year.
Really, I didn't notice. It's not like most of the stuff on the TV Tropes page hasn't happened yet in the first half of the quest or anything. You know, the only reason I know about what must the SV's biggest quest ever is because I was looking for my next GoT fanfic to read on TV Tropes. Also, the character page needs fleshing out, it's depressingly empty of any tropes or descriptions.
We are using the Pathfinder Mythic Heroes system, not Epic Levels from 3.5
I have no idea what that is. I don't play tabletop rpg. I want to, but I live in a tiny village of 3000 that has no gaming groups. Will likely start in college.
We will probably reach canon, in all honesty. We've been going since 2016, I don't imagine we'll stop by 2024 at this rate.
I'd be shocked if you finished before then at this rate.
sonicyoash threw 1 20-faced dice. Reason: SV can throw dice now? Total: 8

A significant contributor to how slow the quest has been over the last in-universe year is the granularity and need to cover, in excruciating detail, nearly every goddamn side quest, minor character and the dozens upon dozens of plot-threads picked-up, dropped, recovered, finished, and then raised from the dead (sometimes literally) again.

We've decided to consolidate major characters toward working on one or two things each month and letting most of the still essential but uninteresting things fade into the background using our game system to model only grand strategy type actions and getting rid of actions with little direct consequence on the story.

So without getting sidetracked every five minutes to look at every shiny that comes our way, the quest should (hopefully) speed up.

Before "roughly now" we have had too many narratives going through any given month.
We focused on each of them.
In greater detail than needed quite often.

Too few actions have been getting backgrounded, too many things just... happened, for little in-story reason.

We've cut down on Minor Actions (the stuff that is supposed to take less than a day IC to do, or stuff that should be done in the background by minions and administrators) now; decided to assign people in more compact a way, instead of spreading them across a dozen various actions at once; cleared up the list of Research Actions, etc.

So, there is some hope for a speed-up.
Not much, but there is.

Edit: Crake'd

Ah. I feel you man, I really do. I also lived in a very small town in the middle of nowhere that doesn't even have a mall! Much less a real, hard copy of an RPG book. Small chance I'm gonna meet a fellow Role-playing enthusiasts as well, considering most of the people here could barely speak english.

'Better just Pirated a PDF from the Internet and participate that way' I'd say.

Also, ENJOY OUR BRAND OF INSANITY! MAY YOU HAVE A WONDROUS DAY JUST LIKE THE REST OF US.

Have we talked about the empire thing publicly at all? People are using the term Empire Day IC, but I didn't think we'd actually called Viserys an emperor yet.
... Is suppose the doom legions are a bit of a hint, but still, we're not that obvious about it are we? :V

It's unofficially recognized for what it is -- an empire. Soon we'll crown ourselves the emperor of the Imperium and it will be official and glorious.

I don't know what we're voting for or what the current vote is, but dang it I want to participate, so onto the bandwagon I go!

I'm back bitches! And coming home to a quarantine means plenty of time to binge through the last few months of posts. So let's get this Empire going!

On a related note note can someone explain why we didn't force the illithid rebellion to release all the people they had under enchanments? Most, if not all, of them were people from fiefs sworn to us and thus we should be obligated to protect them. I got to the part in Oldtown and expected more "Fire and Blood" less of the merchant exchange I read.
