It's been a long time so I get you guys might not remember, but I must have missed where Relath got us? Didn't we get a 50% of his profits?Just be glad we're finally out of that god-awful Molten Skies trade agreemen

First, we are showing that to GIth (whom we just accidentally also are visiting next), and hope they can tell us more about the things - getting us a good starting point for any cutting-research.
Then we bookify and start researching.
She isn't literally going to be vivisected. We're going to ring her dry of information, then kill her so that her Aberrant biology can be studied by those who are able to derive some knowledge from such practices, before finally being fed to the Fungal Forge.[X] Duesal
how sure are we that spreading psionics isn't going to hurt the planes by the way? Far realms influence seems to be pretty awful for whatever it touches long term, and adding native psychics in large numbers to the plane of balance might have side effects. Even if it can normally take it, the cosmos isn't exactly healthy right now.
It'd really suck to learn after we implement it that we're causing the reality warping mind power version of global warming.
I agree that we should learn all we can, but vivisecting a sapient being is pretty screwed up. Doubly so since we don't need to; she's the engineer that implemented everything that happened to her body. Getting answers from her directly is much more time efficient than trying to work them out from the final product.
The reason we were angry at Relath was because when we made that trade agreement, he never told us the trade goods he was having us carry were actually highly illegal contraband in Molten Skies. Shit that people got soul-killed and turned into Living Brass for having. We're long past this, though. It's been a long time so I get you guys might not remember, but I must have missed where Relath got us? Didn't we get a 50% of his profits?

I don't think the Mysterium ever had solid numbers for it. Hell, for a while the thread couldn't agree on Zherys. After several hours roaming the thread and fighting the search function, I'm forced to say that @DragonParadox doesn't seem to have ever given us detailed Mysterium student/teacher numbers. Same thing for the Silver Eye.
Ideally we need teacher numbers, class and level, as well as awakened mageling numbers, classes and levels. Any already greaduated mages who don't want to work as part of the school system aren't needed.
I can find a bunch of posts where we ask you, but can't find one where you answer. Am I searching for the wrong keywords? Or did we just never get around to it?
Sheet editing will continue tomorrow. I spent ages looking for Mysterium and Silver Eye, so I didn't get the new Leshy teachers added in yet.
Similarly, while I seem to remember adding in a bunch of "Mantarys Transfer" Clerics meant to represent Mantarys magelings simply being folded into existing schools (Mantarys' magical GOOD school was apparently too small to become a full branch automatically or something? Must have been very Master-apprentice or something) I can't find that post again to double-check.
This shouldn't be a problem (Mantarys has no Scholarum branch in the Realm Sheet, and I do remember adding in those numbers... Surely I can't have dreamt it?) but it is annoying.
Silver Eye had some numbers, but they are years out of date. They must have all either leveled or died by nowI don't think the Mysterium ever had solid numbers for it. Hell, for a while the thread couldn't agree on Zherys.

Can someone illuminate D&D mechanics for me? Discussion about the Reach Spell metamagic in an earlier page regarding Tyrene it was discussed how awful the 3.5 version of the feat is, and you guys went so far as to spec her into ocular spells to avoid it. But here, for Danny's 12th Level, it was an instant choice, no debate. Is reach that important for her spell choices?

Honestly, I'm with Duesal here. She isn't literally going to be vivisected. We're going to ring her dry of information, then kill her so that her Aberrant biology can be studied by those who are able to derive some knowledge from such practices, before finally being fed to the Fungal Forge.
I want to vivisect her. Dissecting her in the Flesh Forge is going to go a long way to researching Psionics.
I have no trouble with dissecting her after wringing all useful information from her mind. Vivisection, on the other hand, involves actively cutting her open and taking her apart, piece by piece, while she is still alive and able to feel what is being done to her. It is a practice with very little usefulness, but extreme squickness.Honestly, I'm with Duesal here.
I don't care for how we get the information - so long as we get it - but I consider her an invaluable test subject in whatever experiments we'll decide to run in the future.
She effectively made herself Abomination, and quite unique Psionic at that.
I'm pretty sure she has more in common with Illithids than with us at this point too, so...
Bottom line, she is the source of ever-more-unique ingridient than a normal Brine would have been in a fungal pod.
Psionic-touched Brine Dragon's parts.
Whoo, I think we can get far with stuff like that.
D&D 3.5's Reach Metamagic turns a Touch range spell into a 30 foot range spell at the cost of increasing the spell's level adjustment by +2.Can someone illuminate D&D mechanics for me? Agreed. We've been doing stuff on par with full vivisection for a very long time. I don't see the benefit of hesitating on a Brainstealer Dragon of all things given how much doing so is going to advance our research.Honestly, I'm with Duesal here.

We're not in this for pointless torture, dude. We've long since been employing painkillers in operations like this. The point here is to take her apart while she's still alive and see how she's wired. That's a hell of a lot more informative than poking at a corpse for obvious reasons. We don't gain anything by making her feel every step of it, so we won't be bothering with that.I have no trouble with dissecting her after wringing all useful information from her mind. They'll be getting a large infusion of Cleric and Wizard Creature Lotus Leshys next month, so that should help some.@DragonParadox @TalonofAnathrax Also, both Tolos and Mantarys have Scholarum branches, and, presumably, some teachers. Their quality of dubious veracity, obviously. I just didn't edit it into the Realm sheet. It was tracked on turn plans though.
The magic available to us in the form of Divination, Flesh and Fungal Forge abilities, skill boosters, etc., simply renders this unnecessary. It also invites mod attention to advocate for this kind of stuff, which is my main reason for speaking against it. I don't want some overzealous mod deciding to throw their weight around because someone got grossed out. We're not in this for pointless torture, dude. Ah. Looking that up it looks like she can eschew some of the +spell level adjustments by converting her Turn Undead casting into spell steroids, making it more efficient. I was imagining casting 5th level spells with a 9th level spell slot, which seems wasteful given how valuable 9th level spells are.The reason Reach Spell, even the crappy 3.5 version, is so important for Dany is that it allows her to use Divine Metamagic

We still need to have our clerics learn Anu's version of Pathfinder Reach, btw. We need to ask DP if Tyene's research unlocked it enough for everyone else to learn.D&D 3.5's Reach Metamagic turns a Touch range spell into a 30 foot range spell at the cost of increasing the spell's level adjustment by +2.
Pathfinder's Reach Metamagic turns a Touch range spell into a Short, Medium, or Long range spell, a Short range spell into a Medium or Long range spell, and a Medium range spell into a Long range spell. Each increase in range increment increases the spell's level adjustment by +1. It's much, much better in every way.
The reason Reach Spell, even the crappy 3.5 version, is so important for Dany is that it allows her to use Divine Metamagic (an entirely different mechanic which I won't explain here, since it's more complex and we're currently running a House Rule modified version for the quest) to turn many of her amazing Touch range Cleric spells into ranged spells, which can then be affected by the Chain Spell metamagic. For example, this allows her to take a 5th level single target Touch range spell like Spell Resistance which normally lasts for one minute per caster level and can only affect a single person, then Reach, Chain, Persist, and Extend it so that it can affect up to one person per caster level for 48 hours.
It also lets her turn a really amazing combat spell, such as Sacramental Spell, which normally requires a Touch attack into a Reached Chained version that she can use against up to one target per caster level. Sure, the range isn't great, but 30 feet is a hell of a lot better than requiring a melee Touch attack.
Have we actually put Tyene on the project yet? I know we planned to, but more important stuff kept coming up.*sigh*
Okay, then bookifying her, copying the book, and then dissecting the corpse it is.

I could have sworn we got it done.Have we actually put Tyene on the project yet? I know we planned to, but more important stuff kept coming up.
