So purging this place is gonna be an action next turn right? I really do like the place. And hey! Now I kinda want to hunt more Deep One remnants.

Speaking of DP have you rolled for Efreeti Raiding Targets yet? The way we are burning through money I want to hit a couple more.
Nah, not really.
Next turn seems to be wholly dedicated to Tiamat-shenanigans so far (albeit we admittedly learned next to nothing of our efforts there so far), with some minor trade-voyages to other planes before and after it.

Even minor PCs would be of use around, and this place...
Well, for all that it is atmospheric, it is too dangerous for anything less than a full-Companion party - while also completely worthless in comparison to other places we can (and should) act at.

Viserys: "Did someone say purge? I have a spell for that! Shadow of the..."
"Blurp!"

The last time we went into the Plane of Fire, we became even more ludicrously wealthy.

Big risk, BIGGER GAINZ.

The last time we got one of those we went into the Plane of Fire and faced two powerful people in combat. I would like to avoid that.
This probably won't happen. If we get something urgent, if it isn't too urgent like "Hey the Efreeti are scouting Prime Material again" then we can just tip of the Shaitan and the Djinn about it and let them handle everything.

The useful intel we get is most likely going to be something we can pounce on a few months later.

But also this. If there's more adamantine to be taken I want it all.

I would actually prefer to not bother the Efreeti any more over the next few months, barring requests for assistance from our Shaitan and Djinn allies. For what we're planning to do to the City of Brass, it would be best if we aren't under too much Efreeti scrutiny, or for them to be even more vigilant for an expected attack.

Well if they find another prison or priority transport I'd be really tempted to hit it if we could target it next month. A Mine I'd probably just tip off our allies or monitor it and wait for a major shipment form it like past time.

Could be anything really. Maybe even a spell quality Diamond Mine in a Magam Plane bordering the Planes of Fire and Earth. The facility where they are trying to make Div(I assume the arent doing it anywhere near the City of Brass) or a Fire Elemental Slave Farm.

We actually hit them fairly hard pretty rapidly and repeatedly already. We took out two convoys, an entire prison/div production facility and assassinated the Court Mage's apprentice (and captured his expedition).

Oh and we thwarted a major plot which ultimately did EXACTLY the opposite of what the Efreeti hoped, and instead of dividing the Shaitan and the Djinn, merely united them.

Part MMMCXLX: By Bright Chains and Heavy Seals
By Bright Chains and Heavy Seals

Eighteenth Day of the Eleventh Month 293 AC

Lest one forget how vicious Relath can be in his wrath, the dragon chooses neither claw nor poisoned breath for his first blow, but rather a spell to make the enemy fearful of the very water around them, the air-breather's terror of drowning in a world without air. One might almost pity the warriors gasping and struggling against Lya's conjured tendrils, though the final sorcerer still stubbornly resists the spell.

His mistress is not so fortunate, as Dany weaves chains of blazing gold across Faerex's chest, tangling her limbs, and bind her by fate and fortune conspiring, as Lya utters an invocation to the Old Gods such as these waters have never known, calling upon the rightness and the balance of mortal realms to lessen the dragon's fel magics. Alas, her struggles grow no less energetic, nor is the malice in her pallid gaze diminished.

The worm moves, uncoiling from its precarious perch, sliding around the sphere of utter blackness and setting its blind gaze on Dany once again. Crimson tendrils reach out to grasp your sister, not only to leech her life but to draw her through the glittering surface into the belly of the beast. Flinging a hand out in denial, you speak the words of an old familiar spell. Great warding wings reach out to protect her as they do you, the worst of the peril is lessened, though still her life ebbs more every moment.

Dany takes 3 Damage

Dany takes 7 Constitution Damage

As a wall of water slams into the creature, you fix your eyes upon the dragon still. She is the master, the worm only her creature, just as the fishmen are, though you do not hold out much hope for it surrendering. A shard of amber flies, cast with prescient skill that no magic nor ward could stop it. Bright amber light flickers around Faerex... and a moment later she is encased, plummeting like a stone.

Thankfully, Relath is not one to let her 'escape' so easily. He rushes to secure the dragon, even as the last free mage stops in mid-spell, staring in horror as his liege, likely as not his creator, is made helpless by her foes. You are not going to get a better chance than this. "Surrender and you will be judged fairly by your deeds!" you call out in the tongue of dragons, knowing the mages at least speak it.

To your surprise, all three of the mages cast down their staffs, though only a half-dozen of the warriors follow suit. You put them out of your mind a moment later. There is still one more threat to be fought, the one who had managed to do the most harm of all of your foes in this tainted corner of the Endless Waters, the most harm to Dany. Fire tickles the back of your throat, but you ignore it, mindful of where you are.

While Dany sees to healing herself, much to your relief, Lya wields the same spell against the worm as you had done against the dragon. One more an amber sarcophagus begins to sink to the bottom of the chamber, though this time you are the one to grasp it.

Dany is Fully Healed

"Well, that was a little more fraught than we thought it would be when you described Faerex," Dany notes archly to Relath after she catches her breath.

The warriors who had not chosen surrender, soon find their death beneath Relath's claws and their own kin before you can even reach them, leaving you to deal with those sensible few who took your offer. You have many questions to ask, a hoard to secure, and possible experimental subjects to capture.

What do you do next?

[] Command the fishmen to take you to the dragon's hoard

[] Try to catch more illithidae
-[] Write in

[] Ask the mages questions about their nature or their mistress' experiments
-[] Write in

[] Write in

OOC: Dany could have died here since Faerex had powers that also damaged constitution without counting as death magic. Alas for her she did not get to use them.

Loot absolutely everything. Take Fearex's research and experiments, screen the servants and see who needs to die and who can be freed, etc.

@DragonParadox, how happy is Relath right now?

Catch one of anything you find and purge the rest I would say. We can study corpses.
Yeah no, that swarm of illithid-like things is a priceless thing for all our cut-up needs.

We can test anti-illithid weapons on them, IC, without much guesswork.

Few things can get us the feedback of sort, and certainly not as precise as this.

When in combat, call Goldfish.
When in total looting, call

Here's an edited version of the chapter, DP.

Whew, battle winding down, murderhobo instincts receding...

I would recommend having Viserys Miracle up a Brain Spider spell to hurry along the interrogations. It can scan eight minds simultaneously for similar subjects.

Also have Varys on the lookout for intelligent minds, reporting their type, approximate intellect, and locations as we go.
