It is funny that, were we to add the divine Metamagic to her spells, she could use Blizzard and literally turn huge swaths of undead...we have a location to use such a thing too. If we wanted to.

@Goldfish, I don't want to retrain her Craft Wondrous Item. It was used as an important element of her character development back when we first looted her, after all. Let's keep it!

It may not be optimal, but IMO it's fluffy. And she's already quite powerful, isn't she?
She needed that to feel useful and other emotional stuff, but she's come out of her shell and become a mover and shaker in the Imperium. She has plenty of justification to have retrained to a more useful ability, IMO.

She is still contributing a lot in non-combat terms, she's grown to be quite the researcher by now.
She doesn't need Crafting to be, or feel, valuable anymore.

Efreeti have too many HD to matter for this, but if it hits a large area she'd kill and turn every second beggar, slave and animal in the area.
That's propably not something she'd ever want to do, even if it inconveniences the Efreeti to have murderous, life-draining, undead housecats around the whole city.
There are places in the City of Brass where only the Efreeti are going to be found. If there are slaves in those parts of the city, they aren't likely to be fragile humans.

Blizzard only does damage to those exposed to it, though. If people stay indoors they won't be exposed to its effects. If we used Fell Drain Blizzard spells during the attack on the CoB, it would mostly only affect city defenders.

It's not a question of needing crafting. It's more that "how could she forget this whole skillset" is a fairly valid question. We excuse spell retraining because gaining spells is already unexplainable bullshit (dreams, etc), but this feels like a bit much.

Keep crafting. 9th Circle crafters don't grow on trees, now do they? And it's something she can do with her time when she's not doing literally anything else.

[X] Crake

Short sweet and to the point. You don't have to play on our team to make it out of this mess alive, you just have to be damn sure you're not in the ring when we drop the cage and the fighting starts.

We haven't really found a way to do that quest chain, I remember she mentioned feeling something calling her in the north without you know, hate for anything and everything alive

If y'all want to keep Craft Wondrous Item I won't argue much, but it feels really suboptimal to have such a useless feat for her. She crafted because she was scared to do anything else, not because she loved making stuff.

No worries, though. Maybe we can refine the Dedicated Wright ritual someday when there aren't more pressing research goals, one that doesn't drain Constitution.

  • [X] "There are dozens of second and third sons by now who dabble in matters the commons would mutter over, and more for fear of the unknown than fear of what they've gotten into."
-[X] "Noble scions of Great Houses who's sons and daughters practice sorcery. We live in the South, aye, but what mutters of the South could effect Denys if he was sent, say, North, where they care little for baseless superstition, only what's practical and real? Wyman Manderly is a man of the Seven, a Lord from an honorable lineage, and he shelters mages in good standing himself."
-[X] "The Lannisters don't offer us anything, just a threat we must grin and bear with, only must we? The Targaryen grows stronger in the east and he doesn't particularly fear the slander Tywin Lannister has been slinging far and wide as could be heard, and even if we did not raise the Dragon Banner when the time comes, if they have Denys in their hands by then they'll force us to raise ours for Lions."
-[X] "Don't make us spill blood for the unworthy, and keeping Denys in Castamere will have that result one way or another. Call him back, or foster him somewhere that won't kill him for swords and gold and suspicion of what he might do."

@Crake, tywin will diviine why this lesser Lord backed out and when it returns a 404 error he will execute the boy as a traitor.

Which will cause such a mass uproar among the greater nobility that it isn't even funny. He does this and his houses name is less than dirt. He killed a noble scion without just cause. This isn't some random peasant boy. This is the second in line to a noble house. Unless he has proof, actual proof that this family is doing treachery he can't do shit. A Mindblank block isn't proof. it could be suspect sure but no lord is going to take the "I used magic to find his reason and was blocked" as a legitimate reason for execution.

Nah. This is one of the advantages of working with Edric as a proxy. He's the one that convinced his father to recall Denys, after all. Thanks to Mind Blank, any Divinations will stop there.

Hell if push came to shove we could Miracle a new body and transfer the soul if need be. And then use that to destroy the old one. So please go ahead and make our day Tywin I say.
