I did comment on how it would be better to find a disposable parahuman instead of clockblocker whose death would lose us reputation with prt. In the non zero chance of death. But I said this after people had voted and I did not propose a new plan... This has been fairly interesting so no regrets.

I wanna see Hinata firmly on Team Cynric, but we can't get her as a party member while she's firmly a member of Team 8. Nothing against Team 8, but nothing really for them either; Shino's been basically a non-entity since he was summoned, and Kiba wasn't much better until he died (though I think it'd be great if Team 8 is returned to the Forest of Death one day and Necromancer!Kiba dominates the Chunin Exams and ruins Orochimaru's plans and/or life). A Naruto-type ninja is a tremendous asset, plus I really liked her interactions with Louise so far. I think it'd be great fun to teach her magic and power her up as we travel different worlds, plus there's always the benefit of having a friendly person in a position of power. Hinata for Hokage, 2020!

To be fair to Kiba, he got killed because we lost control of a phoenix at an inopportune time.

I don't think there's any benefit to keeping a hold of Vista any longer, but I'm not confident about going out to dispose of her with zero magicka in the tank. I don't think taking a nap will gain much traction at this stage, so:

[x] Join Moira in her studies.
-[X] Perform a medical checkup on vista.

Never such a thing as too much data. Plus Louise should be around in case we need to top off the tank. Also we should get our stories straight. I don't want to kill Vista, I'm more of a fan of applying alcohol and blunt force trauma to her and leaving her in Empire territory. We already know what those E88 cretins were willing to do to (apparent) children, so when the PRT finds her, they can fill in the blanks about her state and Dennis being missing. Not a plan with great odds for Vista, but it'd be terribly inconvenient for her to start spouting off about Clockblocker's mishap. Even if she does unfortunately remember, Cynric and company will have buggered off to RWBY or some other world and Leviathan will bring bigger problems for the heroes to focus on.

Actually, how much of CB is left? If there's a body, we can fix it up the same way we did Tsun (sans bonus arms) and everyone can truthfully say that the last they saw of the pair was CB walking a stumbling Vista out of the compound, with Cynric waving goodbye. Then Cynric sneaks out and arranges the scene to pin the blame on everyone's favorite scapegoats: Nazis. Bonus, an ambulatory Clockblocker escorting a dazed Vista should cast doubt on her memories, should she remember Dennis' head going kablooie.

Man, nearly any other parahuman we could have got our mitts on would have been better to risk on that bit of science than a Ward. Oh, hindsight.
So much greatness in this post that I couldn't justify trimming it down. Orochimaru would either be in love(or the closest he can come) with Cynric or absolutely loath him... it's a toss up.

To answer about the CB remains, his body is intact from the neck down and his head is inside out in another dimension, but otherwise whole.

So can someone tell me why they wanted to turn Hinata against her team, like was there a specific reason or just because....
It probably has something to do with Hinata being the only character outside the main cast* the thread is unwilling to push into a random portal with sensors strapped on. It might therefore benefit us (and her) to separate her from our potential victims.
* With the notable exception of Trobdor, but he's on the list of untouchables because if we do throw him in, he will be climbing back out somehow. Fight on, space lizard!

(still can't help snickering at Cynric's sheer cynicism. Cynric-ism? "She is just like another Louise. Oh well, into the Oblivion Gate you go.")

One Step Closer
Doubts planted, you leave Hinata to her distress and return to the laboratory. Upon arrival, you can see several scientists inspecting Vista with various devices and Louise using Telekinesis to hold the severed tendrils for Vahlen's team while the woman herself is manipulating a series of dials. Since the girl is the most immediate potential complication, you decide to check on her first.

When asked, the familiar looking doctor introduces himself as Moore, the unfortunate victim of Louise's initial breakout attempt when she arrived in X-com's world. While he doesn't mention it, he seems less than happy to speak with you and quickly summarizes Vista's status as 'comatose, but otherwise perfectly healthy'.

He's probably right, since Ebonyflesh should have kept her from physical harm. Until she awakens from her torpor, you won't be able to interrogate her for what she remembers or if she'll be a threat.

As you walk over to the others, Moira waves you over. "You're an expert on inter-dimensional travel and communication, right Cynric?"

"I am a master in the transliminal transportation of beings both living, dead, or in between... Conjuration as it is known to the layman, but that type of magic is primarily between realms or universes. What you seek is shadow magic, of which I have been unable to find surviving texts and only know the most basic of techniques." You inform her, drawing expectant looks from her and Louise.

"Hmm... I see. Well have a look anyway." She commands, gesturing for you to come closer and gaze upon the screen that flashes through the entire spectrum of colors as she adjusts the knobs. "Thanks to you sending Trobror and Espinoza off on their own aboard the alien mothership, they recovered what we can only describe as an alien database. All of the information was formatted into DNA and much of it was lost when the two cut it free from the ship, but we've had our own computers running decrypting it since the the main lab was powered on. Among the more interesting files was the construction of a cross-dimensional communication system. Seeing as how we've had an inter-dimensional portal-"

"Multiversal." You correct her.

Ignoring you, she continues, "-in the middle of our base of operations, I took the liberty of having a basic drone assembled with this technology incorporated into it. I may not have the... mechanical finesse of our dear Raymond, but I think the results speak for themselves."

As she finishes, the screen clears to show a high contrast image as if she had been waiting for just that moment... which she might have, given the smug expression on her face. You don't grace her with any form of acknowledgement, earning a huff of annoyance as you inspect the display.

The translucent mass of shifting flesh that may as well be classified as a geographical feature is still there, twisting in on itself in a continual motion that defies your ability to focus on it, your eyes sliding off it every time you try to inspect the seams where two parts meet. Other than passively resisting your observations, the creature doesn't appear to care that Moira's machine it there. As the quadruple rotors lift the viewing angle higher, you notice a coagulating mass sitting next to a headless body.

Running her tongue across her lips, Moira breathes out, "The sheer scale of this creature is beyond anything I thought possible... It's beautiful."

"It's hideous!" Louise declares at the same time and the two trade disgusted glares with one another.

"Well, we found Clockblocker." You state dryly, distracting them from another inevitable quarrel as the drone continues to fly. "Is this footage being saved for later?"

Typing in a series of commands that send the craft on a parabolic arc over the central mass of the giant creature, Moira nods, "Of course, everything scanned or recorded is being forwarded back through the portal to the base. The real goal wasn't footage though, but to refine our sensors. With this, I should be able to update our scanners to pin down the home dimensions of these symbiotes with the assistance of each individual host."

A/N: Any plan that takes more magicka than you have will automatically drain some from an ally or drink milk if possible. This is the last vote for this day in quest, but multiple options can be chosen.

[X] Make a potion with the eldritch flesh sample.
yes, Yes, YES!!! I'd vote feeding/injecting this to a 'volunteer' to see what happens.

[X] Make a potion with the eldritch flesh sample.

Of course just one ingredient is never enough. We need at least two, three would be better. So either different parts of the entity, or something else that would compliment. Perhaps a human brain?

"Symbiotes" instead of parasites? How optimistic of her.
Well yeah, we know the things are dangerous parasites at best, but she doesn't. What negative traits has she seen developed from being a host to one? If anything, the fact that the thing apparently gives superpowers at no cost makes the label of symbiote seem too negative since it gains nothing. Suspicious maybe, but not a parasite until some detrimental effect is found. As far as she knows, the humans are somehow the parasites.

[X] Plan: "Harmless" Old Man.
-[X] Recover Clockblocker's body for reanimation.
--[X] To add to your undead army.
---[X] Try to preserve personality, but not free will.
----[X] Then dispose of Vista under the pretense of taking her home.
-----[X] Drag her into the woods to off her.
------[X] Make Clockblocker do it.
-------[X] Then reanimate her, too.
--------[X] All whilst humming a jaunty tune.

-[X] To be decided on how well the undead can control his powers.
--[X] Quickly and painlessly kill, then revive Vista while your at it.

First continue with science with the potion and scanner then at the same time test the affect zombism has on parahumans...

We know from canon that clones can get powers so what about zombies... Following that if zombie Clockblocker can control his powers after the portal was ripped open larger, then his powers might be jailbroken...

Following that I wouldn't send a jailbroken zombie parahuman back with them so that is why I say depending on how his power/shard is affected...

Oh boy, are we gonna make our own Cauldron vial? A Potion of Clockblocking would be amazing if we can get it to work outside of the Wormverse. We really ought to get the heck out of Worm if we start handing out Clockblocking powers, though. Kinda suspicious, ya know?

Though I don't think that Zombie!CB would be able to use his powers, since his head got turned outside out. Even if his Corona Pollentia remained intact and was successfully reintegrated into the cadaver, the zombie may not be able to utilize it. Bonesaw's creations can use their powers, but they're still technically alive. It really all depends on how the animating magic works, I suppose.

But we should resolve the Vista situation soon; having her and CB's carcass on base won't benefit anyone should the PRT decide to come out looking for their missing Wards. Once we've ditched Vista in an alley, we can splatter Zombie!CB via Storm Atronach or something to simulate Menja/Fenja stomping him to bits, or borrow Tsun and have him do his best Hookwolf impression, or even combine Clairvoyance and Fury to have the E88 very publicly annihilate the hapless undead, just so long as investigators will be unable to determine how long he's actually been dead for. Though we should remember to collect the head before fleeing the scene, since Dennis' is less than pristine and we may have to use another zombie's head or a melon or something to sell the illusion.

I'm worried about doing too much in this vote and getting sub-optimal results on everything, so I'm opting to resolve the Vista/CB matter now and start in on the potion brewing & scanner development in the morning.

People, we still want to interrogate Vista about the other side and whether she remembers what happened. Can't do that till she wakes.

Right there's also interrogating vista. Do we have a spell to erasing short term memory? Wait, the trick is head trauma and dumping her with e88

There's also the shard reverse engineering the reanimation magic. Which would be funny, in the apocalyptic sense.

We need to get what she saw in the shardspace. And head trauma doesn't fix the memory issues if she last remembers going to us.

Can we posess her to mind delve? Keep her out of hit while just going trough her memories first hand like.
I get the whole 'find out if she remembers CB dying thing' but I'm curious as to what you think she saw in the shard's dimension that you couldn't see with Vahlen's recon drone. It's not like she was even aware of her surroundings when you used her as a skipping stone.
