"I... suppose I could look past this outburst of his. After all, I do know how it feels to lose family. It was what started me on this path, you know." You tell her after a few moments consideration.
"I-I didn't... but you understand then, right?" Hinata asks. "You'll help bring back Akamaru?"
Removing yourself from her grasp, you step back toward the trapped lich. "Pay attention, children! If I am to help you with this, I expect you to be more respectful. My very own apprentice has yet to reach this level in her training, so you had better understand just how much of a risk I am taking with teaching this to you."
"You mean because of how dangerous the technique is?" Hinata questions as she helps the still panicking Kiba stand after his time in the Circle.
"No." You reply with a scoff, as if you care what happens to the boy due to his own stupidity. "Well, not entirely... Louise might find out and I refuse to be responsible for how she reacts."
Unsurprisingly, the two of them are completely underwhelmed by the seriousness of your statement. Nevertheless, you toss them each one of your only two magicka potions. Whatever power he once had is all but lost with his resurrection. If you're going to teach him how to bring back his mangy hound, he will first need to learn how to harness his pure magicka rather than the energy amalgamation the trio of ninjas use.
Slowly draining both of them of their magicka, you lecture, "This is likely a very different school of thought to what your own people teach, but it is up to you to make up for the handicap brought about by your training. Focus on the feeling you get as your magicka leaves your body. That energy is what you must learn to control if you are to learn magic and you must promise never cast this type of spell unless I am around, lest you endanger entire worlds."
"You're kidding!"
Shaking your head at the fact that the boy is already losing control of his tongue, you reply, "I most certainly am not, this is an extraordinarily dangerous school of magic and I expect to be properly compensated for taking these risks. Now activate your eyes, Hinata, and watch how I use my own magicka to cast this spell. I do not have time to teach the two of you any in-depth lessons on magic, so we will be relying on your bloodline to see you through this."
Saying such, you proceed to cast the conjure a shade from this world's dead. As the ghost coalesces with a rather ghastly hole in his chest, you continue, "Drink your potion and begin mastering your control of your magicka, boy. Since Hinata has a natural advantage over you, I will be speaking with her in private while you work."
Leaving Kiba to puzzle through his task, you lead the girl a fair distance into the forest surrounding the outpost before motioning for her to sit down beside you. Doing so a bit hesitantly, she takes what appears to be a meditative pose and says, "A-ano... Thank you for agreeing to help... Louise always speaks highly of you."
"Does she?" You ask in reply, though you already knew that with how fiercely loyal she's been in the past. Still, it is strangely comforting to hear the words... Even if such sentiment is largely irrelevant. "Well, that is good to know. I must admit that I did not want to teach this to your teammate. Conjuration is the most dangerous school among the more common branches of magic and Kiba is... not the most trustworthy."
"What do you mean? Kiba-"
"Is an impulsive fool who endangers the lives of everyone around him whenever he is given the opportunity." You cut her off. "Not only is he arrogant, abrasive, and one who uses threats of violence to get his way, he does not care for the lives of others he puts at risk. Do you know what happened on the mission that got him killed? He was supposed to be scouting a bandit camp and nearly got Trobror killed by being too overconfident. Do you think he would have even considered a better way to approach me had I been a more vengeful man?"
Shaking her head in denial, Hinata demands, "Why are you telling me these terrible things?"
"Because you are a good kid, Hinata. It would be a tragedy if that boy killed you in his arrogance."
"That won't happen!" She argues, though you can see that she doesn't fully believe her own words. Her resolve has always been weak and even the experiences of late haven't changed that enough to stand against you when it counts. "We're a team, he would never hurt Shino or I!"
"Oh, I know it would not be an act of malice... but recklessness and stupidity cost more lives that even the most evil among mortal ken. Between Kiba's foolheadedness and Shino's general indifference to social norms, it is only a matter of time before you are dragged into a situation that you cannot survive."
Trembling a little, the girl whispers, "W-w-what are you s-saying?"
"I know the three of you were placed on a team by your superiors, but problems like this go more and more unnoticed the further away from the situation the decision makers are. It is impossible for a commander to place every one of their troops where they will be their best and sometimes a perceived weakling will be sacrificed to round out a group where they do not belong. I would prefer that you separate yourself from them for your own safety and my peace of mind, but... at least promise me that you will be careful and do not blind yourself to the faults in those boys because of sentiment." You tell her, standing to leave before giving her a sad look.
"You will always have a place with Louise and I if you need it."
