Um. What is Cynric even getting out of this? There's literally no in character reason I see for him to continue slumming it here, without it being exclusively for taking advantage of the situation for his own benefit.

Armor, weapons, minions, genemods, spaceship... whatever you guys bother to take. It's not like he actually cares whether the aliens win, just that a human victory means a higher chance of good loot. Frankly, I'm shocked you guys haven't left or done the usual SB/SV thing and made an orbital weapons platform or overkill spaceship yet.

[ ] Maybe the alien alloy is strong enough to withstand a daedric binding.

Weeee. Politics.

I have a hard time grasping how strong cynric is. Can we just bind dozens of storm atronachs to an island and create a flying doom fortress? With all sorts of other crazy weapons? And then leave?

I'm not sure how much doom it could cause for the aliens, but yes you can. His limited magicka is a weakness, but mages in The Elder Scrolls can and have done some crazy things over large areas like buffing an entire army or making a pocket dimension, he just requires more time than most of them do.

Well we have lots of bodies and many people who are considered geniuses in their fields.

Orbit should be more a less secure, at least until the aliens get super serious.

... I dont know.

Im not familiar with ES lore. IF people wanna throw ideas out there please do.

[x] Continue assisting Shen-
-[x] Write in: by implement dwemer automaton research and teaching him along the way... so that he will have a basis from which to help fill in some of the areas you had not been able to decipher as of yet.

Seriously, we haven't gotten anything from these people yet. At least let their robotics knowledge allow us to grok the Dwemer system.

Vote changed. I am also ready to leave.

Also I want to steal more shit. We haven't done that nearly enough.

What would you want from them? They are pretty dependent on your effort, so they would probably fulfill any request that you make to them.

Leaving after handing them half an alien fleet to scrap and research without benefitting from any of it... I would consider it stupid. Personally, I want to examine Psionics and make a deal for weapons we could use to arm muggles if we ever need a force multiplier.

As an aside, I think that some people on the Council could be talked into invading colonising a few worlds of their own - with our help of course. It'd probably be good to be able to bring an X-COM 'embassy' to any world we want to pacify.

Might be worth it to contact them and see for ourselves.

Need to capture a psionically capable alien for psionics. We could probably discuss this with the Commander?

Gene-mods - which ones? As many as we can get away with? For us, Louise, or both (or Cattleya/familiar and whatever retinue we aquire during our journey)?

We already modified the chaurus. Don't we need more alien autopsies to expand our options?

Genetic Augmentation List
I have compiled a list of gene-mods that exist in X-com, modifying them slightly due to some descriptions using x-com stats that don't quite fit this quest. I I also added the human compatible chaurus gene-mod that Espinoza got selected to test.

Brain
Neural Feedback: Causes damage to psi attackers and puts all of their psi attacks on cooldown. Does not reduce the attacker's chance of success.
  • Unlocked by Sectoid Commander Autopsy research.

Neural Damping: Grants an increase in Mental DEF equivalent to -5 Faith, and becomes Panic(the debuff effect, not normal panic) immune. If the soldier is successfully Mind Controlled, the control is cancelled and the soldier is rendered unconscious for one turn.
  • Unlocked by the Berserker Autopsy research.

Eyes
Hyper Reactive Pupils: Grants increased reaction time equivalent to +3 Dexterity.
  • Unlocked by the Meld Recombination research.

Depth Perception: Gives additional Aim and Critical Chance bonuses for height advantage.
  • Unlocked by the Meld Recombination research.
Mouth
Viper Neurotoxin glands: Canine teeth become fangs for direct injection, tongue lengthens and can be used to launch venom as a short lived cloud.
  • Unlocked by the Etherial Database.

Chest Cavity
Adrenal Neurosympathy: Grants pheromone triggered adrenaline boost to nearby organics. Does not work through air filtration systems.
  • Unlocked by the Muton Autopsy research.

Secondary Heart: Causes a soldier to be critically wounded instead of instantly dying if receiving a fatal wound to anywhere other than the brain. More of a semi-organic life support than a simple heart.
  • Unlocked by the Cyberdisc Autopsy research.

Skin
Bio-electric Skin: Hidden enemies, within a short distance, are revealed with a vague bio-electric outline. Also grants immunity to strangulation.
  • Unlocked by the Chryssalid Autopsy research.

Mimetic Skin: Confers the ability to change skin pattern to match cover. Does not work if any enemies have line of sight to the soldier's starting position. Leaving cover or attacking will break this concealment.

  • Unlocked by the Seeker Autopsy research.
Legs
Muscle Fiber Density Confers superhuman leg strength, enabling the soldier to reach high positions without the need for ladders or other climbing aids.

  • Unlocked by the Thin Man Autopsy research.

Adaptive Bone Marrow: Grants low level passive regeneration and limited resistance to subsequent attacks of similar nature.

  • Unlocked by the Meld Recombination research.

Full Body

Reinforced Skeleton: Confers dramatically increased resistance to crushing forces, preventing bones from breaking under any plausible scenario that vital organs would remain intact.
  • Unlocked by the Chaurus autopsy research.
Faceless Malleable Tissue: Blunt trauma resist, fast closing wounds to resist bleeding, and very limited shape-shifting.
  • Unlocked by Etherial Database.

Your post influenced me to make the gene-mod list for you guys.

As fliers, we are always going to have the height advantage over the ones who aren't. Might be useful to take for us or Louise.
Secondary Heart: Causes a soldier to be critically wounded instead of instantly dying if receiving a fatal wound to anywhere other than the brain. More of a semi-organic life support than a simple heart.

We seem to find our way in those situations. Having a second chance would be invaluable.
Bio-electric Skin: Hidden enemies, within a short distance, are revealed with a vague bio-electric outline. Also grants immunity to strangulation.

An effect that could easily replicated by magic, but the problem with invisible/hidden assassins is that you don't know when to look for them until it's too late. A paranoid mage should have one of those.

So... looks like we have our targets? I wonder if there were new alien species in the ships our summon blew out of the sky, or if we need to go on a hunt.

The aliens have access to everything from X-com:EU/EW and X-com2 other than what was actually developed in the years after taking over earth in the second. The aliens play the escalation game, so not everything was on the ship. Only hordes of mutons, a few innactive seeker drones for defense, a couple sectopods, thin men, sectoids, an outsider, and a Sectoid commander.

Also, you already have the required research completed for Depth Perception, Reinforced Skeleton, Adaptive Bone Marrow, Muscle Fiber Density, and Bio-electric skin. Vahlen hasn't had time to do any autopsies on the Mutons Louise slaughtered and X-com is going to be sifting through the wreckage around base for a while... it was a multi-kilometer ship, even if most of it is damaged components and alloys, finding specific things is going to take time.

If you guys want to do something that isn't in the given options, that's why there's the write in option.
