Surely this was the work of some malevolent god, there was no way she could forget something so important.
I guess this just goes to show that no matter how far you run, no matter what dimensions you hide in, you can never truly escape the from That. Fucking. Manticore.

There will be a day of reckoning. One day.

Is This Progress?
Back in the room with the phone finally charging and the last soul gem filled, Louise grabbed another item from the bag of enchantments and got to work deciphering the magic placed upon it. These items didn't have the reinforcing daedric clusters like the vest had, so they were both weaker and more time consuming to devine their purpose. If it'd had the lettering, she would actually know what her mask was now capable of... was this a test within a test? Did Master Cynric wish to see if she could master these enchantments without the visual aide?

He probably just didn't want to waste time on engraving detritus that was going to be destroyed anyway.

She chuckled at her errant thoughts. It would do no good to be distracted again, she'd already lost too much time that day to forgetfulness and pointless self-reflection. Memorizing how the magic worked at neutralizing harmful substances, Louise easily recreated it in her bodice... such as it was on the light and airy material the dress was made of. It didn't even have proper laces, just being sown on to give the appearance of one. Still, it did the job of holding the magic and she bitterly acknowledged that she didn't really need a proper one with her figure.

Once more grumbling in discontent about the unfairness of her appearance and pondering whether she really would need to absorb a more endowed woman's soul to ever look more mature, she tried not to think about the fact that her current companion was already more developed than her. Thankful for whatever reason made Hinata hide herself in such ridiculously large clothing, she shook her head to clear it of such thoughts and turned to the flashing green bar on the charging device. If the bar was a measurement of it's power, it would be a long time until the thing was done.

"I think I'm just going to go to sleep." The pinkette sighed. Barely noticing Hinata's relieved nod, she climbed out of her dress and into bed. She missed her silken night gowns.

----------------------------

Yawning, Louise awoke to total darkness. Straining her ears, she noticed the rapidly fading sound of sirens and sneered at the thought of how anyone could live in a city where a good night's sleep was interrupted by such an irritating sound. Why couldn't they be more considerate and chase each other around in silence?

A look at the clock once her eyes had adjusted showed that it was barely three in the morning. Early enough to not want to wake up, but not enough to be worth going back to sleep if she wanted to make good use of the day.

"No... momma." Hinata whimpered, causing Louise to look warily down at the sleeping girl clinging to her side. Gently running a hand through the girl's dark locks, she grabbed the phone off the bedside table and laid back down.

After a brief struggle to turn the thing on, pressing every combination of button until finding the one with the bisected circle, she was shielding the glowing screen from hinata's face as best she could and typing away... only dropping the phone on her face once.

Choose 2 to investigate first:

[] Shen's metals and equipment requests.

[] Vahlen's biological samples; soil, animals, contact information for willing subjects.

[] The odd sounding ones; wealthy uranium, cobalt, petroleum.

[] Potential enemies/soon to be corpses for Vahlen.

[] Parahuman research documents.

Waterwalking=1-10, Feather=11-20, resist disease=21-30, chameleon=31-40, Ironskin=41-50, resist poison=51-60, Reflect ranged=61-70, Charm=71-80, Fortify archery=81-90, Greater Ward=91-100. RNG rolled 58.

I've updated her inventory on the character sheet and I find it odd that you've given her more enchanted items than Cynric despite the difference in power between the two. Also, depending on your choices for this, you might meet somebody important.

A very useful spell in most settings, but not one that would come up much in Worm.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to have an oficial place to stash these? At least a proper base?

Does Cynric have a bunch of soulgems? Past time he did some serious Enchanting work on his gear, he comes way too close to dying every time.

Also, returning to Dark Souls to attemp to increase mana would be great. Or making something to tap Lousie's. Perhaps absorbing the soul of a void Mage?

I wonder if it'd work on Newter's hallucinogens?

Did This Even Happen?
Barney Rook had seen many things in his years leading the Salem Volunteer Militia, but never anything quite like his current predicament. One moment he had been desperately trying to save the Shynees woman's life, at least he assumed that she was from Shyna on account of her yellow skin, and the next he was in a throne room. Purple banners and crimson carpets covered much of the stone architecture, golden candlesticks were placed haphazardly around the room, glass of every color filled the windows, and the vaulted ceiling depicted a scene of vast armies being devoured by a horde of black and white birds.

On the throne at the center of the room was a jovial looking man with slicked back white hair and a well groomed goatee. His black and silver embroidered suit was split down the middle with the two main colors of the room, his left being red and purple on his left. In his hand twirled a wooden cane with a large emerald for a handle and a dozen screaming faces carved into it's shaft. Not sure what to make of any of this and the yellow woman being nowhere to be found, he assumed he had fainted and this was all a strange dream.

"It seems I be owing you a favor, dear mortal." The man on the throne said, rubbing his bearded chin in thought before clapping his hands. "Ah ha! I've got it! Seeing as how you saved my daughter from that dreadful annoyance, I suppose it's only proper that I give you her hand in marriage."

Choosing to play along, as he didn't really know what else could be done, Barney held up a hand to cut the man off. "There's no nee-"

"Nonsense! You rescued a fair maiden, you must be wed... it's just how these things work, I'm afraid! Trust me, being the Lord of Dementia, I know these things. Now... where is the lass." After a moment of rooting around with an arm elbow deep in his breast pocket, the self proclaimed lord exercised his dream abilities to pull out a bucket of familiar red and yellow soup of flesh and blood. "I'm afraid she's let herself go." Ignoring Barney's gagging, the nightmare continued. "I expect three and a half grandchildren, no more, no less."

Through his dry heaving, Barney decided that enough was enough. If this was a dream and he was aware of it, shouldn't he be able to control it somehow? Though, he hadn't ever had a dream smell so real as far as he could remember. "Sir, I-"

"Call me daddy, or even Nancy if it tickles your fancy, you're family now after all and family doesn't kill one another over petty name calling... a bit of maiming on the other hand, well... you get the picture."

As frustration overpowered revulsion, he declared, "I won't marry a bucket of entrails!"

"No take backsies!" The mad man shouted in his face, slit pupils freezing Barney in place before the world started melting around them and the bucket was dumped over his head. Childish giggling was the last thing he heard for a while as his body felt like it was being pulled in every direction at once. With a sudden jolt, he landed in a pile of rocks.

Wiping his eyes, Barney Rook resisted the urge to vomit and glared at the insane God, only to find himself no longer where he just was. Rather than elaborate architecture and glass paintings, there was nothing but sand and windswept stone as far as the eye could see. No, on the second look around, there was definitely also a large horned beast with wings and a clubbed tail. Staring helplessly up at the cloudless sky, he screamed in frustration and maybe a bit of fear, but that was to be expected of a man in his position. When the dripping gore burbled in agreement, he screamed louder.

A/N: I haven't had much free time to make an actual chapter, but I had this thing already due to a fit of whimsy, so here you go. Sheogorath, just like Mouse Protector, is someone who I don't feel I can do justice in my writitng and I'm not sure if I want to make it canon or not. Any preferences?

Well, I've heard that matchmaking was SV's second favorite pastime after waifuing, so... good job, us!

Uh, what was that? Not sure what happened there. Was that a happy ending? It looked like a happy ending!

And that, Louise, is why you don't help strangers!

I'm not all the familiar with the source material, but he certainly sounds like he deserves the title of 'Lord of Dementia', so mission accomplished there!

Searching for Shen's requests first, Louse easily found a brokerage in Boston that could procure and transport large amounts of titanium and platinum, the only stipulation seeming to be an arbitrary rule that the order must be for an even number of ingots, at an even weight, and for a well rounded price. Thankfully their page on the 'web' had a convenient conversion tool, so she didn't need to do the math in her head.

After a brief message to the company using their contact page, she found that this whole list might be much easier than expected. The same company could also arrange for the 'rare earth metals' and this lithium stuff, which she was shocked to discover was a flammable metal, but those were heavily regulated by the local royalty. Apparently these 'Tinkers' had a tendency to build dangerous devices and monitoring the trade of certain things helped identify where they operated. Not only that, but the Protectorate used a large portion of their funding to purchase rarer materials, which increased the price.

Opening another window into the nonphysical world, she easily found Shen's mining equipment and an 'atmoshperic condenser'. She had no idea what condensed atmosphere was supposed to be, but the machine made water out of thin air, so it had to be magic. Despite an enchanted item being on the list of machinery, none of his equipment requests cost nearly as much as the metals he wanted. Where as the total price of the machinery was just over one hundred and twenty thousand, the platinum alone was twice that for a tonne of the stuff.

She had a feeling that when the nurse said she couldn't spend all of her newfound wealth, the woman hadn't quite had bulk purchases of resources and heavy equipment in mind. Deciding to search for the large white word 'ExSellsior' that was written on the front of the card, she quickly entered all of the necessary information she could to set up an account with the bank or whatever it was. Thankfully she was able to bypass much of the process by entering the random numbers on the face of her plastic rectangle and verify that she was a 'protectorate affiliated parahuman'... at least, she had met Miss Militia on twice now and they were the ones she healed to make the money.

If they wanted to make an issue of it, they were welcome to try their luck.

Unfortunately her suspicions were correct. Even after the mass healing she'd done, there was only ninety thousand on the card. Not enough to purchase the machinery, much less any of the metals other than titanium. After a brief moment of panic that she only had ninety thousand ecu and might need to pawn off the family manor, she remembered three important facts. First, she didn't have a family home anymore. Two, the locals used their 'dollars' and she didn't know the exchange rate. Lastly, all she needed to do was wait for or create another emergency to double her money.

While healing a few peasants every so often would add to her wealth, it seemed their lives were just as worthless as she had already known, even to each other. If the mass slaughter of their (most probably) expensively trained defenders wasn't even as costly as tools to dig in the dirt, this would take much longer than the two month maximum that had been set.

Sighing despondently, she decided just to move onto Vahlen's list for now. Soil samples could be gathered in person and animals were easy enough to subdue, so she focused on obtaining a way to find test subjects. Since willing subjects were easier to control, she started there and soon found a promising website called HookUP. They claimed to have helped over one hundred thousand people, so she didn't even bother looking for an alternative. Since the site openly advertised as a dating service and she was fairly certain they weren't focused on the tiny fruit, that only left facilitating public meetings and professional conversation, which was perfect for her needs.

Making an account was much more difficult than the bank's had been, forcing her to go to another place to make an electronic mailing address and then provide a brief background as well as a picture. A vague description of being raised in a strict environment before moving to the city with her grandfather, her dislike of germanian dogs, a poorly shot picture at arm's length were all that she bothered with. She assumed the topics such as favorite food and hobbies were for meal arrangements during a meeting and small talk respectively. Hitting the submit button, she logged off and stared at the rising sun as she tried to think of what to do about her lack of funding.

Choose 1:

[] Use what you have to purchase the titanium and as much of the machinery as possible. Have it delivered to-
-[] A location near the anitque shop lair, it'll require waiting around on the day of the delivery, but invisibility should make sure you can hide it until a portal is established.
-[] The Dallon home, nobody would steal from a girl known to have super strength.

[] Put off purchasing big items until you have enough to do it at once.

How to spend the day:

[] Find Madison and follow her around to work on blending in, it'd be strange to any outside observers if the only people you spend time with are the Dallons even though you 'just moved' to the city.

[] Go to the Dallons and complain/eat their food.

[] Wait around the hospital all day and wait for anyone to message your HookUP account.

[] Write in.

While amusing, no dating sites let you put in ages below 18. I seriously doubt that's any different on Earth Bet.
