Good point, I fixed that. I was thinking of the capes that didn't age, but they would still put their real age if they used the site.

I think most of the ones we know about are either adults (Alexandria), or children (Bonesaw, the faerie queen, that pop-star villain cape who is forever 12, IIRC?) who are stuck emotionally at their ages. I suppose there may be a couple that are 16 or something though, which is a fairly bad situation for them.

Also, that's dirt cheap medical care.

I'm pretty sure Louise should have earned something like fifty times that, min8mum.
It was an emergency situation where they rushed as many people into the general vacinity as possible, they don't have an accurate count. Along with that, she is splitting the money with Faultline's crew and their lawyers.

As for the tinkers making platinum more scarce, they use all kinds of materials and there are capes who 'create' matter. Kaiser alone could prop up his company with the occasional supply of rare metals if he needed to, so prices are going to be all over the place. Don't try to buy miso unless you want Louise to go broke.

Afaik, even the most trivial operations run in the tens of thousands of dollars in the US.

If anything, insurance companies would be all over healing capes.

My immediate thought on seeing Louise set up a dating profile was 'watch Greg send her a message' and my next thought was 'oh, right' and then I felt sad.

And yet we see the likes of Panacea and Scapegoat operating freely for years in canon. Plainly speaking, there's a lot of holes in the logic of canon, but we either ignore them for the sake of the story or overanalyze to make it fit until it's all a sinister plot by Coil/Cauldon/Ziz.

If we buy our stuff now, that means we'll have to defend it for two months. Leviathan is right around the corner. We can wait.

A Peaceful Breakfast
Half an hour later, the two otherworldly girls were showered and dressed for the day as they headed out the window to avoid the adult 'concern' they might receive if they tried the front door. Having thought back on what she knew of the world and her own experience with the whole costume situation, Louise had Hinata try to come up with some sort of mask so that they could avoid getting dragged off to the shops first thing in the morning. The shy girl simply moved her 'forehead' protector from around her neck to over her eyes and unfolded some extra material from it until it covered the top portion of her face with the enchanted circlet on top.

Thanks to her magical eyes, Hinata managed to make the trip with only a brief pause or two to not strain herself and they soon landed on the well maintained lawn of the Dallon home. Walking up to the door and hoping to reinforce her childish persona, the pinkette rapped a stuttering rhythm she remembered from one of Cattleya's lullabies.

A bleary eyed and fully costumed Panacea opened the door and didn't even wait to see who was there before asking in obvious annoyance, "What do you want?"

Rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet, Louise smiled brightly at the healer and declared, "World domination, breakfast would be nice as well."

"Wuh?" As the young parahuman realized who she was talking to and began to sputter an awkward apology, Hinata's muffled giggle made her turn around and head back inside with a defeated, "Fine. Come on in, I guess."

"D-do you think she meant that about just the food or are we taking over the world today?" Hinata asked in a rather teasing manner as she stepped around Louise and took off her sandals.

Rubbing at her chin as she followed, Louise hummed and pretended to think deeply about the question. "I suppose it's possible she was already planning on doing so and we just make convenient minions."

As the two laughed at the absurdity of the world being conquered by an annoyed healer, a voice spoke up from the stairs as they passed. "Oh, hi guys, what's so funny?"

Looking to Victoria as she floated down the stairs, the pinkette flippantly replied, "Nothing serious, we've just been recruited in a dastardly plan to take over the world."

"What?!"

"Just shut up and come eat." Amy growled from over by the table where she and her mother had matching scowls on their faces.

Obviously Victoria had taken all of the family's cheerfulness for the morning, as even their father seemed to be in a bad mood. Sitting next to the man as he morosely stirred his oatmeal, and since almost everything was out of her reach without standing up again, Louise used her Telekinesis to prepare two bowls for herself and Hinata while everyone awkwardly stared at the new arrivals... Except Vicky, she was giving confused glances to the disapproval twins.

The floating bowls momentarily startled them, but passed quickly as Carol decided to speak. "I'm sorry if this comes off as rude, but what are you doing here? Not that I'm not glad you have woken up from your coma."

"Oh, well this isn't the first time it's happened, so I thought coming here would be better than waiting to be experimented on and mutilated by chirurgeons." Louise answered honestly, more nostalgic than intimidated by the stern expression on the woman's face... though her expression quickly shifted to something the pinkette couldn't quite identify.

"If it's happened before, you definitely should have stayed to find out what's causing it. You should come with me when I go back there, I can guarantee that the staff won't... do anything like those 'people' you were with before." Amy said, sighing as she looked down at her phone.

Scoffing, the pinkette crossed her arms. "Then your word means nothing, because they already put tiny machines in my food there."

Amongst the general alarm caused by her words, the man at the table finally looked up from his food and asked, "How do you know?"

"Oh, well Hinata can see everything with her magical eyes, so she told me afterward." She answered, waving to the Hyuga... who planted her still masked face in her hands.

"And why not just stop her from eating it?" He asked Hinata.

Looking back at him, she shook her head. "Because Miss Militia was still in the room and it would have been suspicious if she didn't eat it."

"Wait!" Victoria shouted, slamming her hands on the table and nearly flipping it. "Miss Militia?!" At Louise's nod, she shared a glance with Amy, who shrugged and gave her a significant look. "Oh... um... Okay then."

When it seemed none of the family were going to say anything else on the matter, Louise complained, "Okay? How is this okay in the slightest? The woman put some unknown device in my food and tricked me into eating it... Is this normally what you people do to your children in this country?!"

"Well, no... but given your history, I'm pretty sure Armsmaster just made some tracking nanowhatsits and asked Miss Militia to give them to you." The Dallon man replied, returning to his oatmeal now that the topic had lost his interest.

"My 'history'?" The pinkette asked, latching onto the most important part of his words. Did they know the truth or was this about whatever idiotic conclusions they'd come up with on their own?

Unfortunately, Carol's words did nothing to clarify. "Yes, you haven't exactly been subtle and we aren't stupid. The girls here quickly realized the implications of what you've told them and we shared what we know with the PRT. Thanks to Dragon and several thinkers, we have a much better picture of the situation."

Staring blankly at the woman seemed to frustrate her and Victoria came to her rescue by saying, "Basically, Armsmaster is just making sure that he can find you wherever you go."

"What?!" Louise screeched before turning to Amy and demanding, "Get them out!"

The healer shook her head. "It's for your own good, we don't want those people to get their hands on you again."

"Unacceptable!" She shouted. There was no way she could accomplish her goals if the local nobility constantly spied on her actions. These people were far more squeamish than her own and even the Halkeginian nobility was unable to accept her and Master Cynric's methods... to say nothing of how they would have perceived Moira Vahlen! Pulling a knife, Louise glared at the shocked parahumans around her.

Choose 1:

[] Threaten Amy until she removes the machines.

[] Hold it up to your own neck, you can take the bluff as far as required and heal the damage afterward.

[] Have Hinata locate the machines while you cut them out.

[] Stab it into the table, declare your intention of confronting Armsmaster, then set off to right this transgression.

[X] Have Hinata locate the machines while you cut them out.

This is the one that doesn't portray us as straight-up deranged, just (justifiably) paranoid.

Uh, cut out nanomachines out of your body with a knife? That isn't deranged at all...

Amy could probably be guilt-tripped into disabling/extracting them. She was trying to earn our trust and guarantee the staff wouldn't do anything funny. So she might dial it back fearing that otherwise we would lump her and PRT together with our 'former employers' and try to run off.

It may or may not work - we do have magic we can try - but from the outside, it just looks like the little girl is panicking and not really understanding that it won't work.

It looks like a little girl is cutting herself up with a knife into a thousand pieces over a misunderstanding, with gallons of blood and everything else that comes with it. During a breakfast, no less.

...they might stop inviting us for breakfast.

If we had a write-in option it would of been better to ask Hinata to deal with the machines for us while we healed.
