That was a transport vessel/scout carrier/cloning facility, not a battleship like X-com assumes. The random flying saucers that get shot down in the early months of the game are scout craft, about the equivalent of a patrol boat that would be used in the Vietnam war.
The Temple Ship could create singularities, use dimensional phasing as stealth, and survive a dip into Jupiter. You've only seen about 1/3 of their servant species and direct conflict with an etherial can result in even Cynric's mental defenses being overwhelmed if you're unlucky.
"Hmm... I suppose we could attempt to bind a lesser daedric spirit to one of the suits... it would need to be one of the less malicious types, too many fools are betrayed by their armor because they used something too willful and violent." You muse aloud, sorting through a mental list of various daedra you know of. Dremora, Xivilai, Seducers, and Aureals are definitely out. Perhaps...
"Are you suggesting we make a possessed suit of powered armor?" Moira asks in disbelief, as if she'd never even considered the possibility.
Scamps and Banekin are also unacceptable, being much more intelligent and mischievous than they are often given credit for. Not to mention Banekin serve Molag bal, who you have no intention of alerting to any world you're on. "Perhaps a Herne would find hunting aliens and other threats to be amusing... or maybe Hermaus Mora's Seekers would be entice by the enough by the chance to learn that they wouldn't resist." You turn to your apprentice, her sword specifically. Perhaps you could use the same method to bind your favorite type of daedra to your own personal armor.
"Are you even listening?" Vahlen asks in annoyance at your continued pondering, eliciting a chuckle from Raymond, who's used to this by now.
"Do not worry, I have experience with daedric bindings. Only one of the more predictable types of daedra should be used in armors anyway, not that any daedra can be completely understood by mortals." You tell her, causing her to give a strangled noise of protest before entering more notes on her datapad. One day, you'll need to find out what she's always typing on that thing. "Before we do that, however, we will need a finalized design and there are a few modifications I would like to suggest."
Making a quick sketch on the back of the paper, you trace the existing design and add on a few additions that cause Shen to interrupt your work. "What are the vents intended for? The internal coolant lines should regulate the operating temperature effectively."
"How else are we supposed to allow excess steam to escape before it can cause damage?" You ask casually, idly wondering if would throw a tantrum. After all, these people had abandoned steam power in favor of flammable oils over a century ago. Oddly enough, the man simply nods in acceptance and watches you with interest as you add the Dynamo core that would provide power and water by feeding on magicka.
Moira on the other hand, throws her hands in the air and leaves the room muttering about thermodynamic and conserving matter. You add pistons, gears, and support braces along the limbs, joints, and spine respectively. As you do this, you point out how each mechanism works so that both Shen and Louise can learn to do this as well. It causes a small argument when you reveal that the dynamo core must be exposed on the torso, Raymond's suggestion of an armored case on the back being denied due to preventing ambient magicka from reaching the device to supplement the soul being bound into the armor to replace the soul gem.
It takes until dinner for you to ensure the two have an adequate enough understanding of the science behind each piece, specifically the dynamo and compound pistons, so that they can maintain the armor when it is crafted. Unfortunately, with it being such an intricate machine and your lack of the Dwemer tonal architecture required to make the metal unaffected by time and weathering, the additions you made will require frequent maintenance to remain at peak performance and X-com won't be able to make many suits until your teachings are disseminated among the engineers. Leaving your apprentice to memorize the notes you left for her and Raymond, you head to the cafeteria and spot Cattleya eating with several X-com personnel.

A/N: I hope I didn't misunderstand what the winning vote was actually voting for.
Not with standard daedric binding, pokemon tend to die when killed, so you would need to use the FoZ!elven method to bind there souls in a way that doesn't just strip the magicka processing bit of their soul for an enchanent. On a special suit you could, but Cynric isn't going to spend time teaching Shen magic just so he can summon a pokemon for every suit rather than give him pieces if daedra that can be stored for later use.
Edit: if it wasn't clear, you're trying to use a creature's mind to substitute for an onboard computer.
It would appear that speaking with Vahlen after dinner and using Hircine's minions on the armor wins. As a side note, without Cynric, this current armor project would have ended up as the Mech Troopers after they needed to link the body to the armor to produce the intended responsiveness.
Keep in mind any gear you intend to use when selecting gene-mods, as you can only have one in each 'slot' at the moment and some are obviously incompatible with power armor.

Being dead prevents gene-modding them, but you can make a zombie from a gene-modded person who dies. The actual modding will be started after you talk to the Commander.

indeed, though keep in mind that most vanilla mods would be pointless for the zombies anyway, as they involve working biological processes. Adrenalin boosts are just as effective as poisons on a zombie.
Leaving the socializing to the professional, you eat your meal in solitude and head off to speak with Vahlen. upon arrival at the research labs, you force your way through several groups of scientist who disassembling various devices and another duo who are cutting the armor off of a red-skinned brute you recognize from the hangar battle. Apparently they're preparing for another autopsy.
Passing the genetics laboratory, you knock on Vahlen's door and enter when she unlocks it. Inside you see her performing what appears to be alchemy, multicolored vials spinning in a centrifuge. "Please tell me you didn't come to discuss that abomination against science, I can only take so many violations against everything I thought I knew."
"Oh, well... in that case, I suppose we can speak of other matters." You reply sarcastically, not caring for her insult against your perfectly good armor design. Sitting in the chair in front of her desk, you continue, "Your genetic modification research, how have the test trials gone?"
Pleasantly surprised, it would seem, Moira goes into a rather technical description about 'new cleo-tides' and 'meld recombination' to which you simply nod along and do your best to not appear as lost as you are. It seems to work, as she doesn't give any indication that you aren't following along and eventually she writes out an intricate diagram that boils down to a series of available options.

The next morning, you decide to speak with the Commander about whatever he needed. When you find him in the command center, he finishes talking to Bradford and approaches you. Pleasantries are exchange and he taps on his datapad a few time, showing you a picture of the serpent you had summoned. "Just to be sure, you're responsible for the space-dragon, right?" You stare blankly at him for a moment before nodding, causing him to sigh in relief. "Thank God... We assumed, but I needed to be sure. There's no way we could fight something like that, the aliens can barely keep up."
The picture springs to life, displaying the creature as it constricts it's battered and bleeding body around a thin pipe-like ship that soon crumples and explodes in emerald flames. A pair of smaller circular ships ram into one of it's arms, snapping the limb from it's body between their suicidal pincer maneuver. From the elevated angle, you can see that the countryside below is littered in debris from dozens of alien vessels. The reptile's maw open to release a blast of rainbow energies that spear through the nearby ships to destroy a larger vessel attempting to leave the area with it's severed limb. All of the smaller ships in the area seem to hit an invisible dome as they flee. More ships pour into view as the serpent glides across the sky.
"Whatever that thing is, the aliens want it and they aren't taking no for an answer. The bastards have been leading it on a chase around the planet since it appeared, that footage was taken six hours ago over Greenland... I'm not sure how much longer it'll last with that kind of wound." He says, bringing up pictures of vast swathes of wreckage, some falling on cities and stretching on over the horizon. "It's given us some breathing room, but it's become increasingly obvious that the aliens haven't been showing their real strength."
Considering the fact that you can still feel your connection to the summoned being, you know it's still alive. "Concerning, I agree." You reply. "Still, other than confirming the creature's origin, I must admit confusion at why you have requested my presence."
Sighing, Flagg runs a hand through his hair. "Look, I don't want to sound like I'm insinuating anything... I'm grateful for your assistance, God knows we need it, but I've been informed that there's been... strange activity around base lately."
"Other than your headquarters being raided by otherworldly creatures from beyond the stars?" You ask innocently, earning a humorless laugh from the other man.
Shaking his head, he switches the footage on his datapad to show Louise leaving the cafeteria. "I wish that was the only thing, but no.... I'm afraid not. Y'see, this facility is practically coated in state o' the art surveillance equipment, it's how we managed to detect your appearance in the storage bay despite the camera being blocked by boxes of supplies." On screen, you see a woman follow your apprentice into the elevator, only for the footage to skip to the doors opening at their destination, Louise leaving a trail of bloody footprints on the floor. "We later found Debra McConnel unconscious in a congealing pool of her own blood, despite lacking any wounds."
"Hmm... While certainly unpleasant, if the woman is unharmed, I see no need to be concerned about a conflict that was obviously resolved without long term repercussions." You say, silently impressed at the girl's improvements in restoration. No ordinary novice with her limited experience in healing would be able to remove every trace of injury, including whatever bruising would have been produced by knocking the woman unconscious.
Snorting, either in amusement or disagreement, he simply slides his finger across the screen to produce another scene. This time you see a blank door open to reveal a pair of men sitting in front of a set of monitors, a bottle of what you assume is alcohol being passed between them as they cheer at one of the screens. With a touch, the footage triples in speed until it pauses as the one guard throws his head against the desk and falls to the floor, a cafeteria tray and several dishes appearing as if out of thin air. The other startled guard reaches for a button, but Louise appears on top of the man and strangles him until he stops moving. Your apprentice glares at the screen they were watching, ramming her sword through the monitor before blinking in confusion and leaving.
Commander Flagg looks to you with an eyebrow raised as he waits for an explanation.

Shame we dont have an armored dermis Mod. But these are impressive.
We need to summon some Daedra and Pokemon for Vahlen to dissect.
Armor, weapons, minions, genemods, spaceship... whatever you guys bother to take. It's not like he actually cares whether the aliens win, just that a human victory means a higher chance of good loot. Frankly, I'm shocked you guys haven't left or done the usual SB/SV thing and made an orbital weapons platform or overkill spaceship yet.
You got some info on the space dragon, it's wrecking/getting wrecked in a nonstop battle against a numerically superior foe that is attempting to steal it's genetic material.
You've just aided in the design of a Dwemer enhanced and daedric infused suit of Alien alloy powered armor... sub-dermal implants seem a bit superfluous at this point.
That is also true, but usually only when playing as a cat or young female of some sort. Overwhelming firepower and ridiculous escalation is the other half of the average SB/SV response.

Other than the helmet, which needs to be removed to eat, you could... if you're willing to soil yourself and use magic to clean it. Cynric was raised by a Pre-Forsworn Reachman clan, he's hardly going to care about a moment of filth as much as the expenditure of his limited magicka. Anyway, that is the paranoid route, he could wear it constantly and just take it off for a minute when necessary, sleeping in normal armor isn't that uncomfortable and this stuff is temperature controlled.
Yeah, Louise isn't likely to hug everyone that seems upset... maybe Cattleya would be willing to be so undignified. Either way, I predict that you people are going to use Cynric's manipulative nature as an excuse to gather a flock of broken people in some twisted plan to 'help' them.
