The mass of sewage that gained sentience... is optimized for... hug? Welp, glad I don't have that involuntary gag reflex that humans evolved for
Pokemon world humans are built tough team rocket in particular survives falling thousands of miles and being electrocuted regularly.

Hmm. Would Xerneas have its mass resurrection power in any other world?

I don't think Pokemon!humans are even human, to be honest. Didn't all creatures on that planet evolve from a common ancestor? Them being human appearing pokemon makes more sense for their insane durability and the fact that some ghost pokemon are made from dead humans just supports that. So I'm gonna have to say it would, but that resurrection power only works on pokemon.

Naw. All pokemon are descended from Mew.

Literally.

They was busy.

Edit: Or at least Mew has the DNA of every pokemon in it. Somehow. This thing sounds like a geneticists worst nightmare, or wet dream.

So let me get this straight. 1: Arceus creates the universe. 2: Mew is created to occupy the universe. 3: Mews breed like Tuchankan rabbits on aphrodisiacs 4: Mew DNA be wak yo' 5: Mutant Mew babies breed to cause further mutations. 6: Humans appear/spawn from some generation of Mewtants. 7: A Japanese company learns how to spy on other realities and makes a show and game series about it.

Am I close?

Close.

8: Mew reclaims the DNA of its descendants. Incorporating it into itself. Then breeds even more of them.

Wow. Thats pretty impressive actually.

I wonder what Mews endgame is?

I do recall some strange happenings at the end of the Mewtwo movie. It'd suck for you guys to summon a Mew and have it erase Cynric's years of research.

Assuming it didnt do something even more... sinister.

It let team rocket keep their memories. It let Mewtwo live. It brought ash back to life by crying on his stone lifeless corpse.

Hm. Thats a more sinister bent isnt it? Mew was going to "Collect" its clone, and its petrifying attack missed and hit Ash.

Naturally it would have the ability to "preserve" interesting creatures. As well as a means to take them out of preservation.

Edit: Louise and Cynric wake up in Mews. Statue Garden... you know what mew actually has one of those.

Its also full of "extinct" and "ancient" pokemon. As well as creatures in crystal stasis.

The eldritch horror undertones of the pokemon mythos always excites me. This is a good discussion, Lord Helix is pleased.
Agreed, I enjoy discussions involving eldritch beings.

One does what one must in pursuit of Perfection.

Last thought of the night.

Arceus already nows we took Rayquaza. He also already sent someone to "handle" us. We just cant see, or notice the Tiny Pink eldritch horror has been following us.

Watching. Judging. Debating.

Technology will not protect you. Digital space has already been assimilated.

Last Minute Decision
"Well, this is rather disconcerting... She may have a rather caustic personality, but random violence is out of character for her." You lie, perfectly aware of her short temper and disregard for 'inferior' creatures. "When did this start? Obviously it has not been going on too long or you would have done something about it."

"The incident in the security room was the first anyone had noticed anything, the girl's got a reputation for being strange and anti-social behavior, so nobody really paid attention to her sudden disappearance." He explains. "After that, we've been keeping an eye on her, making sure she didn't do anything too... drastic. The elevator situation almost ended with the girl in a holding cell at best. Lucky for her, Ms. McConnell is fine and you woke up before anything else happened."

Considering the fact that you would have simply killed her with a plasma weapon and blamed the aliens if you were in his position, you just nod in acceptance at his words. "I lost consciousness during the battle, unfortunately... perhaps she was exposed to the aliens' mind control abilities when she approached their vessel?"

Grunting in agreement, Flagg signals for you to wait a moment while someone speaks into his ear device. Turning to return to work, he leaves you with a parting comment. "I'll trust you to handle it for now. If she escalates, I can't guarantee her safety if it comes down to a fight."

With nothing left to do there, you leave the command center and seek out your apprentice. Oddly enough, you find her at your other destination for the day: the genetics laboratory. Watching through the window, you see her pacing around the room, occasionally turning to look at the remaining occupied tank as the amber liquid drains away and immediately looking away with a blush, only to repeat the process a minute later. Entering the room, you hear the doctor laughing quietly at the pinkette's actions as she taps at the diagnostic screen.

Vahlen waves over her shoulder as you enter, causing Louise to spin and look in your direction. "Hello, my apprentice... I hear you have been causing trouble lately and chose not to inform me."

"What?" She asks in obvious confusion, apparently not having the slightest idea what you're talking about.

Placing a hand on her shoulder, you look into her eyes and-

Choose 1:
[] You don't want to give her a chance to resist if she is being mind controlled, better to keep her imobilized until a solution can be found. Touch of Paralysis. Cost 300.

[] Explain what's going on and why you need to have her restrained.
[] Write in.

[] Leave her be, you'll only be in the tank for a week, what's the worst that could happen?

[] Write in.

-[X] Adrenal Neurosympathy 1 vote
-[X] Bio-electric Skin 3 votes
-[X] Adaptive Bone Marrow 3 votes
-[X] Reinforced Skeleton 3 votes

A/N: 3 votes for adaptive bone marrow VS 2 for Muscle fibre density means marrow wins for that slot. Sorry about the really short chapter, but I didn't want to make the decision for you guys on what to do about Louise after you chose to handle it. Depending on your choice, you will either have a time skip or Louise POV until Cynric emerges.

Partly because I don't like Louise POV very much, partly because I don't want her to make problems while we're helpless.

[X] Explain what's going on and why you need to have her restrained.
-[X] Focus her considerable fury onto the alien using her body.

Time to check Louise's conditioning.

@PieceThruWar
How would Cynric teach her to keep mental control?

There are three forms of mind/body control possible in this quest. Magical/illusion which requires knowledge and experience with illusion spells to resist, Psionic/telepathic which is essentially a RNG roll against Mental DEF/Faith every time the controller attempts to make the victim do something they wouldn't want to do, and direct or parasitic control which is impossible to defeat without outside interference and is best prevented in the first place.

Not, it's lucky for you, because 'at worst' would have resulted in the complete annihilation of the base.

If aliens couldn't take her down, then a base with half of its operatives in gene tanks would not have held her either.

...why not place her in the tank for some gene mods? We could probably work out what's wrong with her while she is being voluntarily incapacitated.

[x] Offer her to undergo some gene modification first. She seems interested in the tech, and it will make her more powerful

There. Why paralyze her when we can let the doctors do it and carry none of the blame?
