That just means you get to decide with what option to run with, doesn't it?
I usually give it a few hours to a day for a tiebreaker. After all, with how quickly things tend to go sideways in this quest, one might consider my choosing an option that ends poorly to be a 'dick move' as it were.

Wards And Portals 3: Vista, Fetch
Thinking quickly about how to capitalize on this unexpected development, you hit Vista with a Paralyzing Touch and drag her back into the laboratory. With her teammate accidentally murdered right in front of her eyes, there's really no way you could prevent her from causing problems between your group and her own... well, sufficient Illusion spells could, but you aren't going to continually reapply charms on the girl or risk an enchantment failing. Confused and alarmed, but faithful nonetheless, Louise follows close behind.

Upon entering the building, you strap one of each scanning or other data gathering device that you can to the rigid parahuman. Feeling somebody approaching from the rear, you turn to see the dark skinned scientist from earlier as he asks, "What the hell are you doing, Tyne? What was that screaming about?"

Of course, you're busy tearing a strip of adhesive cloth with your mouth, so you simple gesture with a nod toward the door. Getting the hint, the man peeks outside and leaves you to finish your work. Almost a full five minutes after you entered, the girl is completely covered in technological devices and you finish by strapping one of the camera probes onto her head before carrying her back outside.

"Master... Are you sure this is a good idea?" Louise asks nervously, staring through the portal at the writhing mass of translucent flesh.

"Not at all, but the other options are to go in there ourselves or close the portal and waste this opportunity. Now I need you to increase my strength." You reply, to which she dutifully follows your command, even going an extra step further and casting Ebonyflesh on the greenclad heroine. Throwing her as hard as you can through the portal, the two of you watch as Vista sails toward the abomination and skips across it's surface like a stone on water.

-------------------------

"You're making this harder than it needs to be." The yellow haired human told him, making a show of cleaning dust from a pair of bolt cutters.

Trobror just laughed in his face. Everyone in his own galaxy knew better than to try torturing a Krogan. It just never worked since any pain past a certain threshold would just get shunted to their redundant nervous system and only the most pathetic of newborns would break under any less. He'd already broken free six times when his captors were forced to leave him alone while they dealt with some other situations, the only reason he hadn't escaped was because his refusal to leave without his gear always delayed him long enough for the giant females to subdue him.

Sighing as if he truly expected Trobror to cooperate by now, which was an obvious act since the human had yet to even take off his armored vest in the same room as him, the man wrapped the blades around one of the Krogan's knuckles. "You do realize that we can do this time after time, right? My wife and I can keep cutting off the same limbs over and over, each time just as raw and painful as the last."

The female named Othala had already come down to the basement in order to heal him several times. Nothing short of dismemberment was going to make him stop fighting, so she had to use her power to keep him from bleeding out when the others removed his limbs, but that only helped his natural regeneration to fully restore his body and let him try again. Since he could count on her healing him every time, it would only be so long before he escaped.

He still needed to finish the hit on Hookwolf, but that could wait until he killed the stupid pyjack that in front of him. Maybe he'd capture Othala and make her watch before bringing her back to his employer. As he let out a chuckle at the pleasant thoughts of revenge, his torturer failed to hide his concern.

----------------------------

"Oxygen levels are slightly below optimal, background radiation minimal, but there's no visual or audible signs of wildlife." The dark skinned scientist, who pointlessly informed you that he named Amin, announces. "Video feed remains stationary, so I assume the... subject is unconscious or otherwise immobilized."

Moira, having come to investigate just what you were doing with all of her toys, had arrived a few minutes ago to drop a purple and blue box through the portal before scampering off to her lab once more. With just Amin and a fascinated Louise for company, you scold the pinkette for poking the edge of the portal for the fifth time and look to your own datapad.

You can see a distant bulge of green that you assume to be a mountain forest, but the main thing you notice is the creature Vista landed on. After traveling at least a mile, the girl is still nowhere near the edge of the thing and it's flesh is starting to convulse in the area directly beneath her, making the camera shake.

Summoning her back to you with a chunk of the flesh she was touching, you collect the sample before throwing her back in at a different angle, but this time, she doesn't skip. The moment she makes contact, the thing snaps up with a tendril that causes her to freeze in the air and the sensors cease functioning. As more segments of translucent material surge for the portal, you decide to er on the side of caution.

Forcing the portal closed catches the quickest of the limbs to be severed by the edge of reality repairing itself and you kick the writhing mass away. Not even a moment later, Hinata comes running through the Oblivion Gate with Kiba being awkwardly carried by the much shorter girl. As you watch them approach, you hear a thud and feel a tingling that lets you know somebody appeared behind you, which turns out to be a drooling Vista.

Choose 1:

[] Send Louise to deliver the eldritch samples to Moira while you speak with the ninjas.

[] Ignore the children and take Vista away to dispose of her.
-[] Drop her off in the city while she's insensate, if only so that the local criminals can dispose of her for you. Use Illusion magic to befuddle her sense of direction so she can't lead anyone back to the outpost.
-[] Just kill her and burn the body in the forest.

[] Take the eldritch samples to Moira and see what the two of you can figure out.

If it becomes a fight somehow I don't want to send Louise away so i hope this option includes bringing the ninjas and Louise with us...Since I doubt the original option would have included Vista, and I would be very cross if she was left there with the ninjas incriminating us. I changed the option slightly so that she is not left there to wonder off....

Still wonder what would have happened had Cindric gone trough himself. But considering they are reality warping engines that need a tiny portal in human brains to manipulate thing. Walking into their domain may not be the best idea.

Oh right, Kiba wanted his dog to be reanimated.

Ah, unethical experiments and torture. Wonderful.

We need her out of the way so we can keep the Protectorate/PRT off our backs for a few more days until Leviathan shows up and we have a reason to cut and run.

Vista isn't going anywhere for a while given how blown her mind is. Lets deal with the samples and the ninjas before they go bad one way or another

Did any of the scientists confirm if Clockocker bled out? Or did the portal expand to cover his whole body?

his head kind of got sucked through a bendy straw and then asploded

I dunno if the rest of his body got sucked into the portal or not, but whatever's left on this side of the portal has gotta be super dead by now.

wait how

As my good friend Jeff Goldblum once said, "Life... Uh, finds a way."

Also, that's a lie... I don't know Jeff. Or anyone named Jeff for that matter. Anyway back to the question, Vista's shard may not want her to remember about shards, but it doesn't want to continually wipe her memory or leave it's host in such a data poor environment. Since primary hosts were picked out by The Thinker before landfall, its not just going to abandon Vista for a suboptimal host unless it has to.

Kiba's Temper
Looking down at the insensate child, whose reappearance is both unexpected and unfortunate, you turn to Louise. "Take the girl to Vahlen to make sure she recovers from her ordeal."

"But weren't we-"

"Also, make sure to use Telekinesis when moving the samples we gathered to Moira's laboratory." You speak over her, cutting off her confused and possibly dangerous question.

Thankfully your apprentice realizes that you don't want her to let the other children know about your intentions toward Vista and she does as commanded. The moment she is out of sight, you raise a questioning brow toward the impatiently fidgeting ninjas. "Yes?"

"W-what's wrong with her?" Hinata asks, still staring at the lab with varicose veins around her eyes letting you know that she is actually looking through the walls.

"Nothing to concern yourself with, just another unfortunate complication from the portal and her abilities interacting. Hopefully we can uncover the depths of the problem and find a solution soon." You tell her calmly, to which she nods in acceptance and deactivates her eyes. "Now, was there a reason you risked your recovering friend's... health by bringing him through the gate? You do realize that his unstable connection to that body could have been severed by the transition, do you not?"

Though you are positive that there would be no actual risk in taking the newly created lich through the Oblivion Gate, neither of them know that. If they are fearful and feel guilty then perhaps they will be less impulsive in the future and therefore less likely to stumble upon incriminating information. From the girl's horrified expression, you can see it is partially successful.

The boy just doesn't seem to care as he demands, "Bring Akamaru back to me, you old geezer!"

"Who?" You ask, ignoring the pathetic attempt at an insult.

"Akamaru! My dog!" He snarls, angry for no apparent reason. Perhaps he really is unstable. "I know you can, so just do it already!"

"Is this how your people show gratitude, because I admit that I am not impressed. Why should I grant you another favor if this is how you ask? Especially a favor as wasteful as resurrecting a pet."

Surprisingly, the obnoxious lich has the audacity to grab you by the shirt and pull you close. "Listen here, you bastard, Akamaru is not just-" "Kiba-kun stop it!" "-some random mutt! You're going to bring him back or I'm gonna kick your ass until you do!"

Deciding that enough is enough, you use the temporary boost of strength Louise granted you and flip him onto his back. Casting a Circle of Protection around the fool, trapping him inside the spell that is usually used to keep undead out, you watch dispassionately as he curls up in unnatural fear. As he begins to whimper, you Muffle him and turn to leave.

A small hand on your wrist stops you, however, as Hinata begs, "Please, Kiba's just... His clan have a very close relationship with their dogs. He was wrong to be so demanding, but Akamaru is like a brother to him... put yourself in his position... You have to understand!"

Be warned that if your canine companion is brought back, their next death will be their final end. Are you strong enough to protect Akamaru as you are now? Prove it by making use of your new abilities. If you succeed in all of your missions over the next month, then I will retrieve your pet's spirit."

Wouldn't we need to summon akumaru's ghost to turn him into a lich?

It is a different process between summoning a ghost as a semi-physical entity and binding a soul forever into a corpse.
