Bloodraven: Long is the hour, and now that you've finally arrived--
...
Viserys, dumping another armful of blank vellum, tomes and scrolls that he retrieved from his belongings: Oh, do go on.
Bloodraven: --why do you have so many empty...
Viserys: We're going to be here for a while, "Uncle". So many things to cover... where do we begin?
Bloodraven: ...perhaps I should have conspired to prolong this meeting rather than facilitate it.

I just thought of something, how come a simple resurrection can bring back our mother, while Tywin's wife would take 2 wishes? Our mother died in childbirth just like Tywin's wife, is this a plot-hole I just spotted, or is there some explanation for this?

Just remembered that long discussion we had about why Tywin hasn't brought back his wife.

I honestly think it was a hasty judgement call on why Tywin couldn't easily bring back his wife on DP's part, rather than cleaving to any accordance to rules. "Natural causes" is so broad and yet the text pretty much seems to imply that it mostly means "by means of old age/ravages of time" rather than death by disease (too many diseases in D&D settings are anything but natural) or death by childbirth. And the separation between tripping down a flight of stairs and dying shortly after giving birth muddle the lines even more.

I don't think he has any bits of her left.

So, got a bit... eh carried away with the idea of gifting kids (gotta cheer up the thread!) plentiful toys for the festival (which they can keep after it of course), so I took the chance to lay out what exactly that entailed. The goal here is for the kid to have fun with the figures (no instructions needed, give em the toys and kids shall kids) while at the same time reinforcing the unity of the Deep. As Lya can Fabricate these sets faster than a Chinese sweatshop, they shouldn't take any 'days' per se, and could even count as a fun side project. Didn't do any PC's because that might be a bit controversial with the Thread at large and maybe require a vote.

@DragonParadox What do you think? Can this pass muster for the coming Festival? Pretty please? :D:p

With the coming of the Festival, Lya decided to spice up the event with a line of figurines Fabricated from Wood, stone, or other such material appropriate for it, so that the children of SD can enjoy themselves as much as the adults. Viserys was quick to catch an interest in the informal project, intrigued by the prospect of further cementing SD's unity and status... some annoyance at the rumors of his reputation and that of the Deep might have also played a role in this, some say.

Sets (to be fabricated in mass, each individual figure standing atop a small platform so they can be moved independently of its set. Think plastic toy soldiers):

Minotaur Firefighters: This set of seven figures depicts the Minotaurs of SD defending the city from the terrible wildfire that sought to destroy it by the will of the Deep Ones. Two figures are dashing forwards, one holds a sledgehammer, while the other just puts its head forward as if to ram a wall. One figure is carrying a small child in his back, the small child hugging the minotaur's neck tightly and with his eyes closed. One figure holds a piece of wall against its back, bracing it. One figure seems slightly burned and steadies a human even as the human steadies him, both walking side by side. One figure holds a great bucket or tub, which can actually be filled with water. The last figure holds a shovel in one hand as his other hand is held up, as if trying to peer beyond the great illumination of a close by fire. A Little Valyrian stands by its shoulder, pointing at something and whispering in the minotaur's ear.

Tritons: This set of three figures depicts the Tritons of SD. One is a 'Protector', holding a trident with both hands and staring vigilantly forward, as if ready to attack. Another is a 'Merchant', depicting a Triton in the traditional garb of his trade, with sea conch necklaces and semi precious stone bracelets, gesturing to an invisible ware of doubtlessly great value. The third is a 'priest', depicting a wise looking Triton in the garb of their profession, stone tablet in one hand while the other is held up as if gesturing at an audience.

Little Valyrians: A set of eight adorable Little Valyrians in distinct poses, from laughter to serious contemplation. Some hold the tools of civilization, while others seem tailor made to leave hanging from a small branch our the edge of a table perhaps.

Calpinas: Two figures, one flying quickly and excitedly, the other dozing lazily.

Watchmen of the Deep: Six figures, all stylish and vaguely roguish without seeming overbearing or exaggerated, holding the tools and weapons of their trade in distinct poses, from patrolling to attacking. One sports a slightly irritated expression as it looks down, as if trying to catch a little prankster.

Queen Rhaella: The Ship itself in all its splendor, its deck big enough to hold other figurines itself!

Hunter's Moon: The famous ship of dashing Captain Moonsong. Moonsong not included.

Adepts of the Deep: Six figures in arcane robes, holding distinct poses from ritual, hostile spellwork, defensive spellwork, and studying.

Minotaur Shock Troops: Six figures, all in their plate armor and in distinct battle positions. Two of them have Little Valyrian shoulder gunners with crossbows or slings.

Yss' Adepts: Four figures of the followers of the Snake God. Two seem serene and the third is laughing benignly at something, the fourth one is casting a healing spell.

Raider Galley: A raider ship of the Deep, perfect for putting figures atop it!

Merchant Ship: A merchant cog from the Deep, perfect for putting figures atop it!

Raiders from the Deep: Eight figures in various roguish and badass positions, attacking with cutlass and hatchet or merrymaking with loot or wine.

Marines from the Deep: Four figures, the raider's more serious counterpart. They all look more heroic and uniform, holding distinct weapons from the raiders.

Sailors from the Deep: Ten figures, depicting all manner of sea men at their jobs.

Ser Gerold: The Captain Himself in a heroic pose.

Legionnaire Section (Soon): Nine legionnaires and their officer, all holding their weapons in various positions, perfect for great imaginary battles against the enemies of SD.

--

And because all action figures need an enemy... I present The Rouges Gallery!

The Damphair: An evil, important looking, deformed sorcerer holding its hands up, perhaps casting some sinister magic ritual... or maybe just gloating.

The Damphair's Henchmen: Eight figures, all holding improvised weapons or hatchets, extremely deformed beyond any current citizen of SD who still holds Deep One taint.

Deep One Sorcerers: Three ominous figures completely covered by robes in different casting positions.

Slaver Scum: Ten figures. Crew from a despicable slaver galley, armed and in various positions of attack or defense. Infinitely worse looking than the rather dashing Raiders from the Deep.

Gloating Magister: Exactly what it says on the tin. Very Evil Looking. Also Fat.

Evil Slaver Ship: Wicked looking ship which can hold its own figures.

Shambling Zombies: Six distinct forms of shambling. Generic bad guys ready to be inserted into any adventure.

Evil Monsters: Lya knows best. Ten figures.

Evil Robed Chancellor: Fat, robed, bold, leering courtier with both hands under the other's sleeve. All similarities to Varys are accidental. We swear.

--

The battles those kids shall have... oh, one other thing. When I said no PC's... I lied. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Maellor and Glyra: The pair themselves in their adventuring garb, the positions they are in are such that creatively interpreted could range from fighting to exploring or merely guarding something. Glyra is smirking benignly while Maellor has an expression of resigned but good natured long sufferance. This set is a bit more scarce than the rest. One bonus, single issue set has Maellor tearing out his hair in frustration while Glyra laughs wholeheartedly.

So, what do you think @everyone, @DragonParadox ?
I'm all for it. Though I have the feeling you are laying the groundwork for a tabletop game there.

Though I certainly wouldn't mind a few PC figures.

I don't think he has any bits of her left.
I doubt Tywin didn't have her bones buried in the Lannister crypt.
Arguably, if he plans to resurrect his wife one of those wishes must be to make the world forget how much of a shit he was to Tyrion...
No that's what he must do to not have her beat him up after he resurrects her, but you know as well as I do Tywin is arrogant enough to think his wife wont be angry with him.

We fight communism now?

Too complicated. Way too complicated.

We currently have plans for Warrior 3 troops that should be more than adequate to go toe-to-toe with their planar equivalents.

Make the lieutenants and captains Marshalls if we can.

She probably needs a hug more than a speech.

One of the reasons I was só excited about werebears...

Didn't we take them when we last visited Dorne? It'd be tremendously stupid to not have them as we are visiting Bloodraven.

I do want our troop surge of eventuallu carry some flasks of alchemists fire/lightning/cold and those oils thst mimic silvered/cold iron.
Your the crunch master if you say its way too complicated then it is. Shelve it for when we have a more advanced Legion then?

Part MDCXXVI: On the Cusp of a Dream
On the Cusp of a Dream

Eighteenth Day of the Twelfth Month 292 AC

How might a man tell the story of his life to one who sees the world through eyes that are not and never have been human? Once you might have balked at the question, you might have with polished words and subtle speech to bridge the gap, yet fellowship is not bought with such coin. You offer up the truth and starkly so. Of your royal heritage you speak but lightly, for what are the kings of men to the Children who have walked these realms for millennia uncounted? Instead you speak of magic and the world that is awakening to it, of your hopes and plans: to guard those who would dwell in peace against the horrors that would prey upon it.

"I seek the Last Greenseer's counsel not only for what he is now but also for the man he was born, of the blood of my house loyal like no other and shrewd in the ways of the world," you finish.

For a long moment Soft Strider looks up at you in silence, red flames reflected in eyes of gold. "He too remembers the past that was his alone... perhaps too much. The gods grumble in the depths of the earth as he struggled to bend that which is not supple and raging waters run on twisted channels."

Dany fives a small sigh. "I do not suppose you would care to be clearer than that? Is that praise or a warning?"

Your small guide shakes her head, tiny petals flying from the living wreath atop he head. "I am no dreamer to know the hows and whys of such things, only a hunter with keener ears than most." The look in her eyes as she says this seems almost familiar, but before you can guess why that is it sinks back into the golden depths.

Dany herself is next to speak of herself. "A dreamer I am also, though not of the kind you know. In fire I see by the memories of those lost to the world.... and well that they are so."

Soft Strider nods in understanding, deeper perhaps than the cryptic remark might have warranted. "He has spoken of you and the one whose shackles you have cast off."

At last Ser Richard names himself. "A knight without land or keep, but with my word untarnished and a worthy king to serve." Somehow the simple praise is enough to make you blush, recalling all the times you might have acted less than responsibly to your royal calling, thrusting yourself into peril.

"It is good to have companions not only strong but worthy... loyal when the road turns cold and dark..." Soft Strider muses, more to herself than to you. "I admit my heart was heavy seeing you in the company of the Old Bear and his kin."

"What is he?" you ask, seeing your chance for yet another riddle of this land answered. "He claimed to have been held a prisoner by the Enemy...." you trail off.

"He seemed to me an old thing of the Dawn-time, when man and beast were closer, and the dreams of the wild flowed into the thoughts of mortals by the bright of the moon. Whether he was man or bear in his beginning I know not, but now he is both and shapes the flesh of his supplicants in that image..." A great yawn interrupts her, showing strong white teeth, to your carefully hidden amusement. "Time and past time to give in to drowsy slumber," she concludes.

***

When morning comes you take paths deeper into the wildwood. Shadows tinted green lie under the tangled branches and even the hardy underbrush become sparse as the giants of the wood, great oaks and mighty pines greedily drink in the light. The rancous cawing of crows grows louder. Towards afternoon a familiar wooded hillside showing almost as much red as green rises before you... There is no path that you can see yet your guide moves with surety, steeping upon roots and jumping over snares hidden in the dirt.

As you had seen it in dreams at the cave opens into the depths. After dreaming and hoping of this moment for so long you stand frozen upon the threshold, in your pack a bone shrouded in silk feels uncannily heavy.

What do you do next?

[] Try to resurrect Rhaella

[] Speak to the Three-Eyed Raven

OOC: Sorry this took so long, I was busy IRL and had some internet trouble.

So... would Bloodraven be annoyed if Rhaella gets resurrected here instead of him doing it, thus keeping a favor from him/The Old Gods in reserve? Or what am I misreading/misremembering?

Bloodraven does it anyway, the question is to you want questions or resurrection first.
Let me guess. Rhaella will distract the party and somehow force things to end early, or otherwise end before people have asked, said, requested or planned everything they want to.

I'd say leave it for last, since I imagine Viserys and Dany will appreciate being able to just focus on her to the exclusion of everything else anyway.

Force to leave early does not seem likely, but having their mother rise from the dead asking her own questions about the strange and frightening situation will certainly distract Viserys and Dany.

@DragonParadox, can I just give you the rest of the list of questions and get the answers for them now?

Basically all of this stuff is not something I would want to talk about in front of a newly-resurrected Rhaella, so we kind of have to get it out of the way now.
