I think that starting to equip Bronn with "Da gud stuff" will get him to ease a bit into our employment, as he craves magical stuff so much.
He seemed far too conflicted for my taste when faced with a notion of getting a wild hunt's blessing by only having to hunt the shit out of a single deer.

Not too much stuff all at once, though.
A PfE, a sword and an armor will cover all basic needs and make him pretty damn motivated to work for more of good stuff.
Won't be too bad on our schedule/finances too.

Malarys...
Eh, don't know how clerics work well enough, nor can extrapolate anything, really, with his mysterious patron he gets spells from he can have a unique prc or some shit now.
PfE is necessary, but that's kind of a background thing these days already. Too many precedents set.

Wait, PfE doesn't hurt Evil creatures that wear it? Then by all means give Bronn and Malarys Amulets of PfE.

But heads up, combined this basically burns through all of our crafting supplies. Fucking Genius Loci, if we didn't need to sacrifice that thing we could have dedicated most of next turn to either Molten Skies or the Plane of Air.
We don't need to devote a lot of time to MS, we can just send Maelor and a few other who hasn't been there before to buy new crafting supplies.

Why? He's still being awesome. He even has a Little Valyrian butler. I hope it's named Jeeves! :p

And I'm still holding out hope for Lawful Neutral.
In the traditon of Wong and the Monkey King If we get some Extra Planer Monks we are teaching that monkey Kung Fu. What if we trained the best of the Little Valyrians to be his martial artist goon squad. And more on the Extra Planer side Fenu suggested we become a hub of cultres all over the world inlcudign the Planes. What if we make the Deep a place for a new start and home. While the main goal would be getting Monks, Martial Adapts, Fighters, Rouges, Barbarians, and Rangers among any other big deadly warrior types to form the core of our army just setting up the Deep as a trading hub and place to start a new life on the Prime Plane could be profitable.
Also of course looking for any new magic types we could add to our school of the Arcane as well. But if we are going to conquer the world having on hand the best warriors of the Planes to teach our Legions would help. Cause as is our army is somewhat small now and relys on PC's to get the job done. Minotaurs are great but we have a small amount of them right now.

This is something I want to throw several divinations at before approaching.

Also, @Goldfish, something else that takes priority: upgrading Maelor's Ribbon to a Greater Ribbon of Disguise, and giving one to Glyra as well. We need them as spies in Tyrosh to start marking targets in the city.

and it would be a decent weapon for her since it is eligible for weapon finesse).
It'd be great to finally build her character sheet, even if it takes a while for her to fully "get there"...
We only have the two longswords, right? And they're slotted for Valaena and Malarys? A third one would be really useful for the Royces
Here's how we solve it: don't give a VS steel for Valeana, as she has yet to accomplish anything of note, and instead give it to Lord Royce, use it as the irreplaceable political tool it is, instead of a +2 Adamantine weapon.
300 IM)
+2 Constitution Enduring Amulet of Protection from Evil (600 IM)
+2 Armor of his choice (600 IM)
+1 Shield of his choice (300 IM)
Ring of Healing Vigor (56.25 IM)
Ring of Sustenance (187.5 IM)
Greater Ironward Diamond (600 IM)
Why rings? Stick the healing vigor on the belt.

Need +3 armour for Greater Ironward.

I'd rather wait for his sheet before doing the shield. It's much better if its floating.

PfE Amulet, Healing Belt, +1 Armour and a somewhat magical sword should do it for now.
It would be pretty awkward to give him an Amulet of PfE.
Not really. Doesn't do anything harmful. You should equip a PfX according to what you expect to fight.
Fucking Genius Loci, if we didn't need to sacrifice that thing we could have dedicated most of next turn to either Molten Skies or the Plane of Air.
Here's how we solve that: "Which of our party members are wanted in MS?"
or more commonly, suppressed via targeted dispell.
Now that's a coherent argument.

so if we meet joffrey baratheon how much does someone want to bet he is the host of a powerful demon and that nobody would notice the difference from before? also do you guys think he's neutral evil or lawful evil given hes a prince?

  • [X] "And did I not? No more will they prey on men, a threat they are no more. Perhaps even an ally. The True North isn't a nice or easy place, is it?"
-[X] "Tell me, you two, what do you know about the Long Night? If anything, the tales you heard fell short. And soon, very soon, it will be upon us again. I count myself lucky if we have a decade to prepare. The Wall is mighty, but the enemies' host is nigh endless. How many Free Folk have died in the course of eight thousand years? Not to mention ancient creatures and weapons from the last age of magic, held in store for this fight. A host such that the creatures we've slain are but chaff."
-[X] "It's easy for you to see, Harwood. Climb the wall, and the enemy's host will be all you can see. Elle, take your steed, climb into the air until the air becomes thin and your vision starts to darken. And the enemy's host will be all you can see."
-[X] "There will be but two sides on that war. The living, and the dead."
[X] I set out to stop the murder of children and the helpless, and I have done so. While I would like to see the spirit brought to justice for the crimes it has already committed, these are not my lands, and the spirit is not truly here, merely speaking through that man's mouth. Killing it's pawns will not bring back the lost, nor bring justice to it.
-[X] The others aim to use the free folk. To cut them down like wheat, gather their grim harvest, and raise their frozen corpses up as a vast tireless army. They are the enemy of every living thing not born of ice and darkness, and they are coming. I have promised to defy this fate by taking the free folk from here, but I have made no such promise of rescue to these bear warriors. Take what solace you can from that.
[X] "I made no such oath. We came here hunting bear-men, and we have found them. If we can end their hunting of your fellow Free Folk without bloodshed, then so be it. Every enemy of the Others we leave in their path is one more obstacle they must overcome before setting their sights on those less able to defend themselves."

Why not look for the Royce's original sword instead of a new one? Would have a lot more gravitas, and be easier to explain than random new Valyrian Blade.

It was supposedly lost during the Storming of the Dragonpit along with other blades. We could sneak into King's Landing and see if we can't locate valyrian steel among the ruins with the Wayfinder.

@Fehu @Raichu1972 @Artemis1992 @Wheel of time Diomedon's plan has a very real chance of wasting all of this due to needlessly provoking the bear.

It says we will let him to be picked apart by the Others which, besides impolitic and costing us a eight thousand year old spirit that can make werebears, is a downright stupid position. You don't leave people to the Others, you are just making your job harder.

All of this because some of his follower killed a handful of wildlings. Why should we crusade against the spirit that thought it was helping, not unlike Xor, for s crime just about anyone older than 12 or so has committed in these lands?

Can't I convince you to switch to my plan? What do you dislike about it?

Ah, my bad, I didn't see that part.
I mostly didn't like the part in your plan where you essentially called the Free Folk a coward to her face, but I see that you took that part out.

We could do this... I've been wanting to get King's Landing as a teleport point for a while now.

I trust the skeleton with clearly no malevolent or sinister intent in a single bone of it's pure Good body.

I actually am more sympathetic towards Good characters we've seen thus far, Yrael, Andrew Dayne, etc. than most everyone else here.

That doesn't mean I usually agree with them, but from an idealistic paradigm what they want isn't bad for the world. It just might not be good for society.

This Bear thing though, acting as it was? It made me furiously angry. Killing people for no discernible gain and all but wasting our time trying to find a solution that does not put to waste what assets we an find this far north when the time for war finally comes.

Time that is way more precious than anyone else's, since it can be put to use advancing our interests, one among which includes saving the world.

It's not as though saving the world pays well, is free of stress or even, on the face of it, wholly necessary (to us). The argument that "we live there too!" kind of loses its bite when we can transport our own mobile wizard's tower off-plane and live there from now on.

But Viserys is thier rightful King and so he must defend them. Again for how ruthless and vicious he can be Viserys wants his kingdom to prosper and his subjects all the way down to the whores and dregs of society to be happy and for any he is responsible for as King to protected and safe.
He's a idealist in some ways that understands how crap the world is and declares no I will make it better. As Waymar still clutch's to the idea of a virtuous Knight so does Viserys try to live up to the symbol of a True King.

He truly believes in the high standards a King is supposed to embody and for all his noble upbringing has him seeing a system without a centeral monarch as madness he also is willing to listen and be respectful to peseants. At least thats my take on it.

Good enough plan for me. Might not be perfect but what choice ever is?

I like this plan if you can make a vote for it I would vote for it as well cause I have no idea how I would go about it.
We would need to bring it up as a major action during the big Turn Votes, and then while in King's Landing we would need to make a detour to the Dragonpit. That's not going to happen in the near future, though. Our time is already dedicated to other things for the next few turns.

well for the people that like the plan I do like the idea and will probably vote for it when it comes around for voting time. by it won't happen in the near future do you mean like a few weeks in out of game time or like a few months? or do you mean far far future out of game?
cause I just started reading and have no idea how long a few turns usually takes or what constitutes a turn.

Every month IC is a turn. The next turn is fully slotted out already, since we've got things like the Landwarden & Lich sacrifice, visiting Runestone, sending Maleor and Glyra to spy on Tyrosh, Merling King temple, etc, but the turn after that might have some free space if we reserve it now. If you want to get it done you've just got to come up with concrete and tangible rewards we'd get through the visit and reasons why that takes priority over other things we could be spending time on.

For example, there was pretty much zero complaint for doing the Bloodraven mission now because everyone agreed that we had to learn how to sacrifice the Landwarden & Lich before the Lich managed to free itself.

Well, that, or just keep pushing for it enough and eventually it'll work its way into the plans.

@Duesal, I suggest we hold off finishing the Merling King temple until the time we get to fetch Breath Taker to consecrate it. That's by the 13th Day Second Month of 293.

We can do Illyrio quest instead in the meantime. Third Month 293, Tyrosh WILL fall.

Ah, right, I messed up the timing for that. I knew you figured out that DP arranged the Merling King temple's consecration to coincide with Breath Taker's return, I just didn't remember which date you pinpointed it for.

But yes, Illyrio is going down. We are looting his mansion down to the bedrock.

And as a side note, we're also stealing a couple lion cubs that I know for a fact the Prince of Pentos is supposed to have. Leila's getting a thematic pet.
