By the way, people, let me give you a fun little fact:
While looking through our Character Sheet, I noticed that Push grows by a factor of x1.5 at this point already. This is still not much due to it starting at 5 Base Damage... but then I got thinking.
We can get four rank-ups in our Growth-Affinity, each one increasing this growth by .1
If we somehow find a way to boost the factor by another .1 and wait with training Push until we have a Divine-Affinity... then its damage will double with each level.
Push, at level 20, would deal more than 5 million damage if we only started training it at that point.
I just checked without the additional .1 we would have to get from somewhere... and it would still be roughly 1.85 million damage at the same level.
It will not happen, but just imagine! Imagine the ridiculous things we could do!

I kinda wanted to add more stuff to the EXP plan but I guess I woke up too late for that. As for those talking about what we signed up for? We actually did bring up with Karen thenspecific possibility that we would need to kill people and she did say yes, and we still signed up fully knowing and aware of that.
We literally signed up for this and no one can say we didn't.
Originally Rukia had wanted us to grow from story upward by deed and belief in us as an individual. Do something worthy of myth and be known by the world for it? Be upgraded to myth.
Of course that wasn't really correct to canon, and eventually he talked to Crystal about it instead.
I have conferred with Crystal-Sama about the nature of growth affinities.
As from now, this is my stance on them.
In general, no, you can't change your growth affinity intentionally or with an action.
It is possible for it to change under certain (unspecified for now) circumstances, but I'm not explaining how to you, mostly to stop you from deliberately aiming to do so.
If you fulfil the prerequisites, then it will change.
Aka Rukia talked to Crystal about growth affinities and decided that there is ways to increase them, so we technically can grow from story to myth to legend to epic, etc.
On the other hand we don't know how and it isn't like we are going to be told how.
We might go up from story but on the other hand we might never fill the unknown prerequisites, and remain at story for the whole quest. Especially since it is at the level of "generally can't change intentionally or with an action".
Talking about us going up the growth affinity scale like it is a sure thing is a bit premature.
She nods slowly, clearly reluctant, but answers. "Yes, it is the duty of any who are still sane to destroy those who fall to the dark. It is a mercy." She still looks like she has swallowed a lemon.
I'm surprised no one wrote in asking why it is a mercy and why all who use dark magic deserve to die? What is so bad about them? This is just so cerys will be aware of falling IC.

Oh, wasn't really thinking about it like that so much as Shrine Madien-->Aid to a god and making a joke about that, wasn't really thinking about that discussion. My ability to have tact is a bit wonky at times and I often edit and reword things as I post to make it a bit more tactful. That… sometimes fails with short posts since I don't really write enough to really need to go over it. Yet another reason I tend to avoid short posts .
I wasn't so much intentionally poking it with a stick so much as a joke that I didn't really think through.
(When talking to friends online for instance, I've been called on giving someone a "burn" multiple times… completely unaware that I had done so.)
Normally I am a bit better when it comes to avoiding being an idiot with the written word though, so sorry for that.
More seriously the lowest level of Divinity in CWMGQ is World anyway, (The order is: World/Solar/Exodus/Star Stream/Universal/Divinity) so Forest Bro doesn't qualify, and wouldn't qualify unless we somehow offed Gaia and replaced her with them which… seeing how what Forest bro is spirit of is part of Gaia would probably be impossible and would be monumentally stupid anyway to kill the planet you live on.
Gaia might qualify but on the other hand we technically are already "sponsored" under her because we got our current power from her, so it probably doesn't count.
Well maybe there is some type of "further Sponsorship" but I would really need to know the terms of that .
more immediately concerning is that the entire mountain is hot, like really hot.
You flick your Radio on. "Hey, Morgan, is this mountain volcanic? 'Cause it's really damn hot inside."
You hear her hum and then her hair scraping the mic as she shakes her head. "No, it's not volcanic, one second." The line is fuzzy for a minute, before she returns. "I asked Karen, who asked someone and no, there aren't any mountain bases or anything. I have no clue."
you see some areas highlighted with marker. Is that? That looks like the mountain you had been at yesterday. Is it.The marker has changed from a bright red to a faded yellow

It probably means that the site is of some interest and that there needs to be some sort of follow up later. Given that Cerys noted that the entire mountain was blazing hot and lacking much more information, Command is probably waiting until they can get assets freed up to investigate the site appropriately.

I was mostly talking conditionals, but yes.
On the other hand, we are the first and will spend years in this; I have the feeling that there will be occasions for us to fulfill the prerequisites.
Besides, I think that Rukia themself is hoping for us to make it at least one or two Growth-Affinities upwards, so we might encounter situations that make us as part of the story. Maybe even helping out those shmucks a few days back already sent us on the path to becoming Myth already. I do not know, but it is possible.
I was mostly going for the mental image, anyway. Imagine, letting Push lie for several IC years... then, at some point, Cerys remembers it and starts training, only for the spell to grow into a destroyer of battlefields like Oblivion Awaits within a month or two.
Huh... what else could there be, I wonder...
With this mentioned, there should be at least two ways we can go, two chances.
I think one of those has to do with publicity; Magic grows stronger with more people believing in it, so the same should apply for Magical Girls. I do not mean MGs in general, though. If enough people start believing that Cerys is a powerful being, we might see something there.
If it is possible to take another magical being's power, this might be an idea as well. Not advocating for it, just throwing ideas in the room.
Edit: Besides, I still think asking about this "fallen to the darkness" thing is an automatic action, so I will not specifically vote for it.

I think we know full well how bad everyday humans can be. People kill for their own advantage all the time, and they sometimes need to be killed to be stopped.
I do want to know if it's intrinsic to their career or if this is just people being people.

But I think it's fine if I go with the second one.
Any objections?
