Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

[x] Fight to kill

We need to get Una in contact with some other kids her age.
Or at least give her something to do while we're on missions.

For the kill option, it is kinda what Cerys signed up for. She might dislike it but I do not see her becoming a 'Thou shall not kill' just because this monster is person shaped.

Regarding sending Una to school... considering how she reacted to being out in public, sending her to a school would be outright worse for he mental health.

Guys, please let us not rehash this discussion just yet. We are talking possibilities here.

I am mostly thinking about sending her once the next year of school starts; this would be either in August or September where I live, but I am not sure how it is in England.
If it is somewhere around that time, Una would probably have had enough to time to get used to a... somewhat normal life again and we could just ask her if she wants to go instead of deciding over her head.

Besides, any reason people do not want to talk to her about her worries right now, before they grow into something even worse? We do have those ~30 minutes, I think.

This is the Older Una Alt design that I have on standby.

I need to edit out the Anchors.

Without player interaction?
No, she wouldn't.

You do.

I honestly wouldn't particularly mind choosing to kill, but the refusal seems more interesting to me.
Except this is a job, and we signed up for it, own it.

Yay, finally HS combat!

Subduing an enemy is valid strategy as well, if one that has far greater risks at times.

I just caught up with this though, so I'm probably not the best one to make an argument on this.

Edit: Not to mention that my taste is probably somewhat different than what the current voters have, since I would have tried to stay with Best Forest rather than go with Morgan.

I just find it weird. We signed up to do stuff like this and we have been doing it several times now. So why would she suddenly just hesitate for this one? I mean should we revisit Karen and have the agreement revoked if we cant full fill it.

The demons are also kinda person shaped so should we not kill them also?

I've noticed you making your way through the Quest for the last week or so. Nice to see you here :D
Thoughts on the Quest?

The problem is that we are not strong enough to subdue; even our Halt would only work for a short while and we could get blindsided even while it is active, seeing that it only stops movement, not magic.

Right now, we are ordered to kill... and we kind of accepted Karen as our boss when we accepted her proposal, so refusing now would not be the best idea.
Plus, if we manage to subdue that black mage and bring them back, Karen would have them executed anyway.

It's been very interesting. I'm really liking the interactions with Una, and the powers and themes are really interesting. The fact that we are starting at a point where Magical Girls are still rare is also pretty fun, I always like quests that have the MC as one of the first heroes/mutants/mages/whatever, so this quest is perfect for me in that regard.

Was sad to see us leave America/Canada though. Best Forest deserves more love.

[x] ask what she means by "fall to the darkness"

Cerys was expecting this from the word go. though the way Karen is talking it does not sound like this guy is a run of the mill fifth columnist, is magical corruption a thing in this setting?

Couldn't really get at the collar that well. The smallest setting on my spraycan in 25 pixels, which is just a little too big.

Also, have a cute:

On the whole killing people, you cannot know if someone is up for going out with the intent to murder someone until they actually have to do it. If she or Una were in immediate danger I have no doubt she would go out and slaughter whoever was threatening them if it's the only option, but going out to murder someone is different.

So no, saying we signed up for this knowing we would have to kill is not a valid reason IC. Because if Karen is half as smart as all of is think she is, she's going to not just know this, but be used to this.

I'd be worried about a Cerys going out to kill anyway, that means she's had enough experience to de-humanize others.

"This building was recently the sight of a ritual suicide, or so they are calling it. In reality, we are pretty sure that this is a dark mage of some kind that we've flushed out of hiding with the big push"

There is no innocence here.
