Not true, I will reference her All Things Devoured quest, for one example.
I only follow her stories, so I forgot about those honestly. Surprised I forgot the FF one though, suplex time and Anima were good scenes.
If no fix if found for Danny before then, I guess Tim could just turn him into a Nanoha style cyborg. Also, Integration is just four points away. Wonder if we could use it to cure Danny, it's not like he asked for this.
Generally when I use logic, you give me some snide comment, tell me it's 'OP pls nerf' and move on. So, asking how much you're willing to allow for a power, even with the description is still valid.Here. Fair warning, it's within a spoiler.
And yes, maybe a little mean, but seriously, man. Use your brain.
I don't know. What could Skitter, whose only power was to control insects, have done to stop Phir Se from launching that massive collection of solar energy at Behemoth causing him to wipe out most of India? And what could we have done to prevent the Ukranians from using those Phase Shift munitions that ended up causing this? Nothing at all really.
Alternate realities have so many uses. You… could, I suppose, but why? It isn't like you really need a secret base of your own. If you make the right choices, you really really really won't need to find one because you'll have plenty of options.
[X] Learn Burst
Words can't describe how elated I was when I saw the first few votes for Burst. Then I read the next few pages of votes and discussions.
OK, I'll admit that Telekinesis is tempting, more for what's hiding behind it then the skill itself, but seriously? We've already lost what? Two or three battles we could have won easily if we'd only had Burst. Silently Watches has straight out confirmed that it would have helped us twice.
We're losing battles we could win, and making the victories we get harder than they have to be, by not having Burst.
Oh wait...Alternate realities have so many uses.
Just ask Cauldron.![]()
What can I say? I concur. With the Beasts battle in the nearest future, we're getting another spell anyway, and in that battle, area denial works better than area attacks.[X] Learn Frost Beam
Firstly we have a spell that we can't even see under this tree. It's like an itch I can't just scratch. Secondly it's already at Master so we can use it at full capacity. Thirdly I think the next arc will involve a zerg like swarm of monsters since we ignored the situation mostly. Crowd control abilities will be useful against the large amount of enemies. And if used inside the sewers (which are mostly straight lines to prevent blockages) it would be deadly.
For Ring Bind it's more of a single target spell. Useless against swarms.
For Telekinesis it's the same. We can only move targets twice our weight so max 2 enemies out of a swarm. Any super precision would be unavailable to us in the heat of battle. Advanced telekinetic tricks other than lift and throw would take to long to develop and practice. Plus we have a lot of more options.
Burst could be useful here if combined with cartridges to fire swarms of projectiles. If we want a reputation for creating fields of scattered body parts. Samantha already has an aggressive reputation after the fight where we went down.
We could also chose to get one of the 2 remaining Knight skills but they aren't really useful right now due to being at Novice. Filling out that skill tree would get us the next template install if I read the FAQ correctly.
Tim lacks the Integration skill. So even while he can attach cybernetic limbs, he still can't work with the brain or nervous system much. Plus such advanced healing would be more along the Support template I think.
For some reason I think if we mess up the Beast situation really badly we might have to Ragnarok Philly.
Silently, you might also need to consider the part where we convinced Perfect Storm to contact TSAB again, despite the aforementioned lockdown - for 30 seconds, but still. I always considered that event proof that we do have sovereign-level authorization, and that we did exercise it when contacting TSAB the second time.Storm actually could refuse that command, or more likely lie and say that was not within its abilities, because doing so it would classify as enabling "intentional user self-harm". NOT what I planned when I wrote those lines, but they're there.
Combed through the list. No mention of telekinesis. Reread all of the training scenarios. No mention of telekinesis. Combed through the other omake with ctrl-f, still not finding telekinesis. It's on the character sheet. You don't need a link to see it, just your eyes and a modicum of effort.
Sorry, but I don't see how you missed it when you crtl-f'ed for telekinesis.Combed through the list. No mention of telekinesis. Reread all of the training scenarios. No mention of telekinesis. Frost beam yes. Burst even, under the bombardment training. But no telekinesis. As usual when you reply, snide, annoying and not particularly useful.
Right there at the bottom of the quote (Middle of the Flare skill tree, but I didn't feel the need to copy Solar Wrath as well), we'd be getting it at 2/2, which is mastered and the given max mass is caster x2.SPELLS
Flare skill tree
- Flare Shooter (2/2 Master) – Basic shooting spell. Genetically engineered flame Mana Conversion Affinity installed. Currently programmed to be non-lethal by default. Can be cast simultaneously with any other spell.
- Homing Bullet – Upgrade for Flare Shooter and Rust Shooter. Bullets now self-correct their trajectories to chase targets.
- Burst (1/1 Master) – Modification for Flare Shooter and Rust Shooter. Bullets can be set to explode upon contact or remotely. Can be cast simultaneously with any other non-Shooter spell. Can be used with Homing Bullet but not other Shooter variants.
- Telekinesis (2/2 Master) – Move things with your mind. Affects any objects of up to twice the the mass as the caster, living or nonliving.

Thankyou for the spoiled omake however.
I'm snide with you because you consistently ask questions that are answered in the character sheets, which you clearly don't look at despite repeated suggestions to do just that. I reply in the same tone to everyone who does this. If you have an actual question, one that is not spelled out for you in the character sheets, I would be happy to answer it just like I do for anyone else who asks real questions.Combed through the list. From StrikerS, it sounded like an AMF was a phenomenon much like a magnetic field. We can artificially create magnetic fields, and they can artificially create anti-magic fields via technology or spells.@Silently Watches
A question about Anti-Magilink Field.
It's situated in Tim's Utility skill tree, so, I presume, it's a spell, not a gadget. And you said several times that spells couldn't be turn into gadgets.
But in StrikerS Anti-Magilink Field was used by Gadget Drones and Cradle, while they couldn't use spells by definition.
So... what's up with this?
How is being able to shoot a dozen+ blasts that all blow up to beachball sized explosions, at the same time as any other spell, not battlefield control? It's all battlefield control, really. Though I don't think Telekinesis would add that much to what we can already do. I prefer Frost Beam a lot more than either, it unlocks another skill and is a nice control spell on non-lethal, even if it doesn't discriminate against allies.
A wall of beachball sized explosions is a pretty decent area denial attack. What can I say? I concur. With the Beasts battle in the nearest future, we're getting another spell anyway, and in that battle, area denial works better than area attacks.
Too bad really, because a Temporal Sludge landmine would have fit all the original criteria SW had listed for tech casting spells (AKA pretty much no variables whatsoever, except field radius, so no mage needed to do calculations), and been WAY more tactically effective than many of the ideas we had come up with...I put down a blanket ban on tech replicating spells because I was getting frustrated with people asking "What about building this? Or this? Or this?" when it was always stuff that I had already said no to (the bind-casting batons) and especially things I had also already provided you (guns that fired Shooter spells when no one had invested anything in the weapon branch that had energy weapons right there if you would just invest your points in it!). A blanket ban was the quickest and easiest way to shut that down.
Also, isn't it Worm canon that Bakuda had built something similar with tinkertech?Too bad really, because a Temporal Sludge landmine would have fit all the original criteria SW had listed for tech casting spells (AKA pretty much no variables whatsoever, except field radius, so no mage needed to do calculations), and been WAY more tactically effective than many of the ideas we had come up with...
Guys, Ring bind is almost a necessity at this point. Its exceptionally useful for bombardment, and makes catching (and holding) criminals far easier. Most have no way to stop it, and we have damn well put it off long enough for more dakka.
Frost beam is nice but we need more utility not more dakka variety.
To be fair, as a comm guy, most people do one of two things when they see "computer stuff" that they don't understand. No, but we do have Perfect Storm who has hack the Triumvirate, which is also not something that Taylor can possibly do.
We could have left a backdoor so we can just give the data to Tim. Now we have to do another raid on a possibly fully armed base along with Tim.
We could also have grabbed the mechs to take apart, but again nothing.
Sorry, there was just so many things we could have done but we bugged out as soon as we saw some Hollywood style code.
