Tenten is basically Naruto Batman when it comes to "what does she have stashed away in her utility belt scrolls?" She has everything from kunai, to battle-axes, to bo-staffs, to frying pans, to 1000 foot ladders stashed in there. So for her at least, the reason why she doesn't henge her weapon into something else is probably "because she's already carrying that type of weapon on her."

Not really a thing, I'm afraid.
Note how not a single weapon user(and we see a lot, from Tenten to Hidan to Kisame to Zabuza) does such a thing.
I'll note, Naruto literally transforms himself into a Fuuma Shuriken at one point early on- A genuine transformation, too, unless Sasuke had unexplained points in 'Throwing Weapon- A dude'

So, I wouldn't take it for granted that transforming in such a way that your blade changes shape would be impossible. Depending on how Henge works, it might not be practical, though.

Exactly. And that's probably a smarter option.

Shape-shifting your sword would likely require significant investment. You have to get really good with henge, be able to use it seallessly on the fly, be able to integrate it into your combat style without going off balance, learn to handle different shaped weapons....

And what does it really offer us? Yes, it allows us to provide a few surprises, but they're hardly that game-breaking or revolutionary. The investment needed would mean that we should really be making it a focus of our fighting style. It would our "thing". This does not strike me as the most optimal "thing" to invest in.

So yeah, I'm going to argue that it is probably possible, but not worth the investment.

Like, if you want to boost up a basic technique to high levels, I'd suggest trying to get good enough with Kawarimi to use it as a bootleg Hiraishin. Still a really large investment, but one that would provide a lot more benefits if we could pull it off. (the only flaw with this is that our name isn't Kawaru, so we couldn't be called "Kawarimi no Kawaru" :p)

And what does it really offer us?
Even if it only allows us to turn our sword transparent, that would still be a lot. With sharingan, we'll be able to clearly see it. If an opponent can't, well, that's a hell of an advantage. It should be a relatively low hanging fruit too. And then more advanced tricks. Like "henge you huge slab of metal sword into a short lightweight one, then release it once it's about to strike the opponent, making it unblockable".
Not really a thing, I'm afraid.

Not even puppet users do so, and if anyone could benefit from the ability to morph an inanimate weapon, it would be them.
Actually, Sarutobi, you know, the Third, does this kind of a thing. With Enma the Monkey king using a transformation (which, until shown otherwise, I'll believe is a form of henge) to transform into a battle-staff mid-combat. Others you mention (save Tenten) rely on magical super-swords or on being immortal.

Significant items from this update:

1. Sasuke and Naruto are now hanging out together while still in school, if only every once in a while, if only because they're mutually hanging out with Hisana.
2. Naruto has now been informed that there will be a 'paper test' to advance to chuunin.
3. They are jerks who stole someone's seats.

"Please remember that me and Sasuke are supposed to be in disguise, guys." Hisana said, and got confirmations that they'd understood it from Naruto and Sasuke before proceeding. A couple of bored chunin waved them through after seeing they lacked bags to search; and they were off and into the stands. They'd gotten to the stadium fairly early, but most of the good seats were already taken. They managed to run across some empty rows to get into a trio of good seats before a trio of kids around their age they didn't recognise, who did not look happy.

"Hey, those were our seats." The burliest one of them said.

"I don't see you sittin' in them!" Naruto replied, exaggeratedly leaning back and kicking his feet up.

"You littl-" The big one began, only to be interrupted by his friend.

"Come on man, it ain't worth it to get chucked out over these losers." Said the smaller one of the three kids. The middle one echoed his agreement, and the big one sighed and walked away.

Look I get it was first come first served, but the other group was clearly headed down the row to those seats, and Hisana's group jumped across some empty rows to get there first. Total dick move. And it's not like there weren't seats available, see "empty rows", no they just had to steal some slightly better ones.

New Hisana Trait: Seat-stealing Jerk

Really funny that Hisana went to all the trouble to disguise herself, but simply the fact that she's hanging out with Naruto would give her identity away.
Not like he has that many female friends.:V
.

Speaking of female friends...Hinata is probably currently admiring Naruto from afar. She lacks the self-confidence/esteem to approach him, but maybe Hisana can drag her out of her shell a bit and befriend her. Not to play matchmaker (they are eight, after all), but it's good to make more friends.

[X] Plan "always ready"

Since ninja archer was a no go, ninja samurai will have to suffice. Plus, learning to combo ninjutsu with swords can let us mimic Trunks: slicing a enemy up then blowing them up.

By the way, can we eventually learn a fencing style(yeah, I know not present in the setting but there were sword and shield knights in the second movie) since fencing only uses one hand which frees up Hisana's other hand to use jutsus or throw kunai.

[X] Plan Hammerspace
-[X] Fuinjutsu:
--[x]Reverse-engineering the wrist storage seals
-[X]Ninjutsu
--[x]Learn to do an efficient Shushin
-[X]Iryojutsu
--[x]Attend the basic medical theory classes the hospital holds for Academy students.

Having some skill in shushin will make us a more effective fighter all around (and makes us better able to "Dodge!", including when we're using our kenjutsu. We can train that specifically later.

Serious request: can you show me some canon examples of shunshin actually being used in combat? Because I really can't remember any.

Yes, but outside Shisui (who we never see fighting on-screen, as it was, as far as I know, which leaves a lot to interpretation)?
We do actually, in one of the anime filler flashback episodes at least. But yeah, outside of Shisui it's never really used in combat (and Shisui was treated as exceptional for being able to do so).

Third and Fourth Raikages used variations of it, I believe.

As we get better with it, we'll probably become 'untraceable' in our speed to more and more people. Shisui was probably untraceable to most ninja in a way that most ninja are to, well, non-ninja as far as his shushin speed goes.

But maybe it's not practical in combat for most. Still, the generic version (though I think there are minor variations among the villages) is a common skill for ninja, which indicates that being able to move at normally untraceable speeds is important.

Anyway, what do people think about abusing our OCP knowledge of Senju-Uchiha-Uzumaki interconnections? Because I really want to try and see if we can get something going there. Starting from a simple donation from Naruto / transfusion to Naruto, and up to swapping one sharingan eye with him, because one RInnegan is better than two normal sharingans.
