I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

There's something weird with this threadmark. There's no arrow linking to the previous one, and last threadmark doesn't have an arrow to link to this threadmark, either.
 
Hmph, I can see a lot of begging from Dawi after the Times of Woe, bet those Silver and Reckoning age Dawi to be the most shameless of the lot.

Still it would be sweet if Snorri can find out where the bodies and items of his lost students lay.

Well damn, good for Thorgard. Honestly, I'd like to know the backstory behind how those dwarfs with him came to the conclusion this was a good idea because it sounds very interesting. Are the Ancestral gear used up for good? If so, looks like we're out of perma killing weapons until someone reinvents it.

Now I'm very curious how holocrons can link in to this system.
 
Imagine Snorri makes a Gronti in honor of his mom and she takes it over and sees Snorri treating his daughter right.

Or maybe 20-loops showing up at the next meeting and going, "I'm not even gone a century and one of you solved the concernation?

Will the ancestors intervene more?

Will the dead aid the living on occasion?

.... And now I can't help but picture a truly ancient priest of Gazul walking alone to hold off a horde and buy time for the women and beardlings to escape.... And intoning a call to the ancestors to aid in the defense of their kin and clan....

And from behind him, emerging from the stone like the spirits they are, an army of the fallen elders.... All of whom are PISSED at not only having to be roused but even more so that the enemy dares attack to destroy what they and their kin have built.

Not familiar with how Warhammer plays but if dwarven priest magic is a thing I have an idea for a new spell they might gain.


"Call to the Ancestors"

A call made only as a last resort for it is not lightly one calls to the elders of the underearth for to do so is to be scrutinized under their collective gaze. If the situation is not worth their attention then they shall offer no aid and will rebuke the caller (degree varies by situation).

On success the ancestors provide some level of guidance to the one calling them. What this guidance manifests as varies but is most commonly it is advice on the situation, often cryptic as the elders dislike having to guide beardlings directly (almost as bad as having to do their work for them because they botched it!) and expect them to at least be able to figure things out if given at least basic direction.




If they don't have priest magic adjacent abilities then feel free to ignore. Was just an interesting thought/concept I had.

They were returned to Gazul. Literally.
 
something this gate will probably be used for? Confirmation of Deaths and Grudges made from beyond the Grave which were never recorded in the Damaz Kron, cue priests of Gazul calling for all those missing and never recorded dead and going down noting down everyone who has ever died and if they have any unspoken Grudges
 
oh cool Snorri can finally get his Rhuniversity approved by Thungni.

Apparently Snorri was correct. Thungni now will be able to check the new mega structures and give a grade!

The runic array of phone the dead still needs to be created based on this Gazul Gate.

Awww... So Snorri still can't get his project graded?
I was rather excited because it's such a chill image so far removed from all the headaches of war and herding the kids.

Create Ghost Toys: The Underearth is full of beardlings and plaitlings who have never known the touch and joy of one of your toys, time to rectify that. You'll figure out how and make enough toys to give each one of them 3 toys each you swear on your beard! -Drunk Snorri probably
 
Well, Artifacts of Ancestor Level Power don't exactly grow on trees to be sacrificed?
If Snorri ever learns of this IC and can do so without exploding a Magic Storm might work, but I wouldn't hold my breath here

well...there is the Great Vortex, just gotta figure out how to either tap into it or make custom batteries to bring to it to charge up and bring back for activation of whatever we want.
