Do we? We've never encountered an alternate version of someone before, therefore, in my view, it's not unreasonable to assume that alternate universes do not come with alternate versions of specific people until informed otherwise.

And I believe that the inverse is also true. And considering plenty of works of fiction have alternate universes with versions of the main cast, it's not impossible for Yumi to have some reference points for that conclusion.

Alternate versions of people isn't that big of a drift from alternate universes which we are fully aware exist since Kazuya is from a ruined past.
It's really a 50/50 in that regard, since you also can't say that a version of Kazuya didn't exist in Yumi's world in the 1900s.

I think I've come up with a way to add Earth magic with minimal complications!
Simply put: have it do Physical damage. An earth spike type spell would count as melee, and a rock bullet type spell would be ranged.
Because you're basically just hitting them with a big rock. Could even have the spells locked at medium damage to mirror the Dracostrikes.
