so only comstar troops can fight? what about Helghan mechanists not bareing weapons but just working the shops on a forge crusier?
As far as I know personnel that isn't affiliated with Comstar isn't allowed to take part in the trail. However equipment from a different power is fair game as long as it's being used by Comstar personnel. For further clarifications you should ask Prom.

full on war support, no issue.
very much anti gene bomb.
having said that ... as a last resort kind of option its very tempting

Even if you fail to consider anything else whatsoever, the virus is currently a joke as anything but an opening salvo in a total war, because 30% of all Clans' warriors is actually more warriors than 100% of the invading Clans. And that's before we consider that it would be disproportionately naval warriors who survive as warships are trivially quarantined. Naval warriors are the actually important ones, without them the mech jockeys can't go places.

Since people currently lack the stomach for a total war, it goes in the shelf until either the boffins improve it or the Clans start doing the kind of things that'd give people the stomach for total war.

see my fear is the clans will go all in on the I-Pet bombs against ComStar and unlike Helghan actually go full Terracide which would leave neither side winning at that point I'd think using the Gene-Plague because of the fear that the clans wouldn't stop.

The only thing I think is if we can get ComStar to get the clans from using I-Pet bombs would that prevent the use of the Gene-plague outside of a Clans invading the ORDI.

the two guards lurking before another door, the humanoid figures looming like knights of old in their matte black power armour with entirely too-modern assault weapons held at the ready. Wordlessly, his guide raised her ID card to one of the pair, the insect-headed figure taking it in hand and staring in silence as their suit undoubtedly poked and prodded the slim rectangle.

After what felt like an age, the guard finally nodded, a genderless voice with a rough and electric burr issuing from the helmet. "Cleared for entry."
Did the Canopian create Enclave Power Armour?

Jurgen, her long-time aide
Hello, Jürgen. What are you doing out here? This is not the Imperium, and what are you doing away from Commissar Cain? Lol

"ComStar has been forced to exploit the man's weakness unilaterally."
"This is the world of Lyndon," he said as he spread his hands wide. "A planet in the Lyran Commonwealth
"By all accounts," Focht continued, either not hearing or not caring for the comment, "Lyndon is not a world the Clans would target as a priority, and its value is so low in comparison to others that its expected that the next Clan assault will bypass it entirely in favour of more worthwhile challenges.."

"But I know of a way to make it a prime target for the Clans. That is, quite simply, to take advantage of IlKhan Crichell's weakness and challenge the Clans to a battle on this world."
"In the wake of his singular failure to deliver victory via naval means, IlKhan Crichell must deliver a crushing blow against the Inner Sphere as cost-effectively as possible if he wishes to avoid disgrace as a war leader of the Clans. Simultaneously, he must give the other Clans a chance to earn honour and glory on the battlefield if he wishes to regain their goodwill. These factors left him vulnerable to a trap set with just the right bait, a trap whose success will earn the Inner Sphere a much-needed respite."
"A battle," Focht said lightly. "A battle on Lyndon between ComStar and all ten invading Clans. If ComStar triumphs, the Clans will cease hostilities against the Inner Sphere for twelve years. If the Clans triumph, ComStar will cede Terra."
Ah, so this is the Tukayyid Gamble of this timeline

If we drop the genebomb thats it all restrictions are lifted it will be a war to the knife either their people as a genetic strain are dead or ours will this kind of weapon is never good because it awakens the inner animal in our brains the one that will do anything to survive

[X]Plan: Don't let the genie out of the bottle.

Wolves a the door:
-[X]: Tell Focht he has our full support for the Lyndon Gamble and that we will lease them as many Helghan mechs as they need even those which include shields and whatever other Helghan equipment (Petrusite or other wise) they want for the Gamble. Alongside physical equipment we will also share everything we know on Clan tactics, strategies and how to counter them. Also inform him that ORDI will attempt to organize a coordinated counter strike with the Great Houses involved in the invasion which would take place while their doing the Lyndon Gamble.

Immanentising the Eschaton:
-[X] Reject the Plan. Point out their to many risks for us to approve the plan and that once the genie is out of the bottle their is no putting it back in and the other Innersphere states and whatever clan survivors will undoubtedly begin developing their own gene plagues which most of the Helghan population is especially vulnerable to.

Question: Can the Sphere nations send units have them be 'temporarily' or a long-term attached unit to ComStar like UN attaches their troops to the UN???

If I understand and recall correctly, while attached to the UN, those forces are effectively UN forces first and foremost. Their home nations second.

If this is allowed under the trial as they would technically be ComStar forces, the Sphere could lopside the trial that way.

[X]Plan: Don't let the genie out of the bottle.

This really is endgame. Christ, nearly half a decade IRL and this is the culmination of all our efforts. Well, we've come this far with our soul intact. I'm not keen on throwing it away on a maybe.
