[X] [AHMA] You plan to confront Ahma yourself, tomorrow, with the help of your friends who attend your school. While you'll probably have to wait to get to her after the school day, you know you can do it specifically tomorrow. And you're fairly confident that you can work things out so that nobody's too likely to end up questioning your secret identities.

This is the simplest way to handle this and move on. I don't want to wait, it will end up with some drama over someone else dying and guilt over not acting. Nor do I want to deal with the Sailor Moon identity issue. Let's just take the simple route and just it over and done with.

Nor do I want to deal with the Sailor Moon identity issue.
Note that the act personally option doesn't guarantee not giving away our identity. There's a reason Ahma doesn't leave messes around her own school.
I don't see why trailing her home isn't an option really, which is another reason why I want to hand it over to the actual cops of MCAT. There's no reason to start a fight at a school with a serial killer.

So given that Nanoha told Tsubomi about Fate in confidence, Tsubomi's not going to relay that information to the Sailor Senshi unless, like, she specifically expects it to be the end of the world or something.

Or if it appears that Nanoha is in danger and somehow Fate is important information for the Sailor Senshi to know when working out how to rescue her.

We have essentially placed ourselves in the "call an adult" position for the Precure. Though Tsubomi might ask her grandma for advice first.

Read the option. It specifically says that we are likely to confront her after school, not at school. Most likely that means we will ambush her when she is walking home, and thus it will not obviously connect to our school. Lunaryon doesn't usually do trap options, since the tell MCAT option specifically says it will have identity issues, and this one doesn't I think we can count on Usagi not doing anything stupid like attacking her in class.

Additionally, for those worrying about schedules, it specifically says we can fit it in tomorrow. If we want to complete this story line in the simplest way possible, the handle it ourself option is the pick.

I did.
After school hours are over.
With my school friends.
This implies after classes end they find her as she's leaving her own classes. It doesn't state where we will accost her, but it's certainly implied that it'll be somewhere around the school.

The more time that passes, the higher the chance that Ahma will add more victims to her list. If MCAT takes umbrage, well, better to ask forgiveness and all that.
Given the precedents, I don't think MCAT would be offended by Sailor Moon dropping a paranormal serial killer on their metaphorical or literal doorstep. They seem to have resigned themselves to having basically the same relationship with her that the Metropolis Police have with Superman.

[X] [AHMA] You plan to take some time to think about how to alert MCAT to Ahma's threat, and go ahead when you have a good plan. That might be quick; it might take a while but it shouldn't be too long, you hope. Either way, you should take some time to plan. You know catching Ahma is important, but you're hoping to avoid awkward questions about how the mysterious Sailor Moon knows so much about this seemingly random schoolgirl.

…is she worried that she is being graded on a curve?
Given what a colossal nerd she is, it's probably the only reason she's ever heard Ahma's name in her life. Of course she's going to think of her as "that girl who's never more than like 1-2 places below me on the standardized tests." :p

As I recall they have the crippling problem of only excluding people with no magic whatsoever.
To be fair, a random city park at or near sunset (I don't know if parks in the greater Tokyo area close at sunset, but it's not common) is a fairly safe place to section off a modest-sized circle and assume there won't be any other mages within that circle.

Dear Samui,

You know how Naru works for us? We asked her and our other faculty in the teen-twenty range if this murderer dressed like a high schooler was at all familiar, and Naru recognized her from school. We can be your muscle if needed, but this is your jurisdiction so we want to respect that.

Kisses!
—Moon
The operative question is "how long will it take Usagi to think of that?" If this vote option wins, we may find out?

...That is entirely believable and yes, Moon would send kisses.
Well, on her first meeting with Samui she did include this scene:

As Sailor Moon glances around the halls, looking for anything that might stand out, and in particular for anything so boring as to be forgettable, the young senshi notices something moving out of the corner of her eye. Turning, the girl realizes that what she saw was the shaking of Samui's hands. Despite the clam look on the acting director's face, it is clear that the Youkai is scared. Taking a step closer to the pale skinned woman, Usagi looks down to her, a soft warm smile on her face. "Sailor Mercury warned us," She says plainly, "Which means that whatever this Truth-maker is doing, it's not perfect. I'll be able to see it as well." A hand slips up to the shorter woman's chin, pointing her face to Usagi, "I won't let them hurt you, or any of your clan."

Samui's eyes go wide, before the woman steps back, and for the briefest of brief moments, all the grace and calm flees from the woman's face. However, before Usagi has a chance to try and even parse the look on the woman's face, she quickly turns away from Usagi with a cough. "Y-yes, of course. I will trust you with this." She says quickly before pushing ahead and continuing down the hall. Sailor Moon is pleased to see that the Yuki-Onna's hands are no longer shaking, but she can't help but notice that there are a pair of very... odd looks being given to her by Kimiko and Natsuda.

Oh it is fine as a privacy thing. The problem is that when using it to hide your magical battles you sometimes find an unlucky bystander who picked up an artefact once standing there wondering where everyone went and why the sky is full of laser beams.
And given the rapid increase in the number of locals with at least some exposure to magic Yuuno might need to rethink using like that it sooner rather than later.

Well, let's be real here, it's not like he has a better alternative. Or if he does have a better alternative, he'll be using it instead.

In Canon Nanoha, maybe. However, with recent events magically awakening unprecedented numbers of numbers of people in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area and us and MCAT awakening more people in more controlled circumstances, the odds of accidentally catching civilians inside one of Yuuno's barriers is somewhat higher, even if only by a few degrees of a percentage point at minimum.

Edit: Pluto'd. >_<

You have to ask, would it be better if Yuuno didn't cast the spell?

IIRC even in base Nanoha canon it still ends up catching Nanoha's 'mundane' friends at one point, so yes, useful but you still need to keep in mind it's not fully effective.

Probably less than a day from when she starts considering it.

The thought process is pretty simple:
  1. She's at my school
  2. So is Naru
  3. Naru is known by MCAT
  4. Sailor Moon is one degree of separation from Ahma through Naru (and Usagi) due to working for CrysMil
  5. I can hold a faculty meeting, ask my employees if they recognize her (should I do this as a group, or one on one? Probably one on one), and even if Naru somehow doesn't recognize her immediately, she likely will once I say her name
  6. This lets me keep my identity secret, gives a plausible cause for recognition from a trusted source, and lets me help MCAT catch a murderer.
  7. Pizza party Sundae

It probably doesn't help that Yuuno's having to singlehandedly cast the spell out to a radius of kilometers in some of these battles. Probably makes things a little more porous than they were in the intended use case, where there'd probably be a bunch of B-list mages whose one job is to keep the barrier up and limit collateral damage by doing so, while the real heavy hitters go in and engage the threat.

Usagi might be the best bet for helping the souls of the people she devoured.

Theres like, 3 factors here:
A) The exclusion is fairly precise. Fate and Nanoha vs Giant Kitten took place within a kitten's walking distance of Arisa and Suzuka's tea party, and the barrier didn't snag them, despite knowing for a fact that they are magical enough to be caught. We can assume Yuuno and Arf actually do a quick check before deployment to minimize the risks rather than dump a centered radial circle.

B) The A's final battle barrier was large enough to encompass the entire city and suburbs when deployed by the Book of Darkness. Plausibly unavoidable. The Wolkenritter Ambush at the start was only a city block, and both parties did make an effort to pick a part of the city which was relatively unoccupied at that time of the night.

C) Nanoha's magic is very good at avoiding lasting damage if it hits people with any magic at all, even without active barriers. The actual danger is environmental effects, like broken buildings, or in the Book of Darkness battle, lava plumes blasting out of the ground. Fortunately for everyone even the rampaging book had to heed Hayate's subconscious wishes at first and was only throwing enough ordinance to break the barriers so it could capture them rather than violently kill.

[X] [AHMA] You plan to contact MCAT about this very soon, as soon as you get a spare minute. Doing things this way will probably raise a lot of questions about your secret identity and how the mysterious Sailor Moon knows so much about a random middle school student at Azabu-Juban Public Middle School.

It's a general form of the special case where people call Michiru and Haruka, Sailors Neptune and Uranus, "cousins" to make fun of the 1990s DiC dub of Sailor Moon. Because the DiC dub tried to cut out the homosexual relationship between them, but even after cutting out some of the most passionate scenes, there was so much dialogue to dub where it was obvious that they were close that they decided to use the excuse of "they're cousins" to explain why they're living together. This was so obviously absurd that people mock it. It's a running gag.

As I recall, it made things a lot worse - it didn't fool anyone, but now you thought they were related too...

"Okay. So, the barrier jacket- and, I would guess, our transformations- are usually immune to spells that try to unravel just one spell at a time, or even one particular kind of spell. It's like how a sweater would still stay on and be okay if you disappeared one thread. Yuuno says that magicians with barrier jackets probably wouldn't even notice. But by hitting every spell cast on you at once, the resonance disruptor can get past that, at least part way. It attacks the defensive spells and messes with the way the spells are woven together, and then you have trouble. If the casting magician is strong enough. It's pretty tricky. If there's a way to make barrier jackets immune to what a resonance disruptor does, apart from "be a more powerful wizard," Yuuno doesn't know it, and he's never heard of anything quite like it before. He said he could think of a bunch of ancient references that might be something like that, but he also said not to take that too seriously because a lot of those references could have been a lot of other things too." Ami shakes her head. "Yuuno was pretty surprised."

I wonder how it would affect Usagi specifically, considering who she is...

Kunzite watched his enemy's figure closely, the memories of that fight in England still fresh in his mind. Sure, he relaxed once he realized who he was dealing with, and his weapon wasn't exactly well-suited for this fight, but still... The Princess forced him to retreat.

It was a painful blow to his pride, but a necessary one - after all, he couldn't expect that scheming schemer to actually fight fairly. Fighting someone like her would require some ingenuity...

As expected, the Princess rushed towards the hostage as soon as she saw her. There's always a reputation to uphold, huh? Either way, it made his job easier. Of course, the device in its normal configuration could hardly cause a strong enough effect, but if you overload it...

The Princess's expression during the explosion was certainly priceless. It seemed her feigned calm had collapsed along with the rest of the web of lies she had surrounded herself with. The Sailor Senshi's attire disappeared, giving way to normal clothing, and Kunzite could make out the features of a blonde girl that seemed vaguely familiar.

Then her figure blinked as if shifting out of focus, and her silhouette began to emiSILVERSILVERSILVERSILVERSILVER
