So, first question… is 'Jadeite' your real name?"

"Heh. Thank you for asking, I suppose. No, no. Queen Beryl did give me, us, those names after she had her hooks in us. Before that, I was Ydrárgyros Smarágdi of… of Mercury."
Aw yessssssss we're getting INTO it!

[X] [AHMA] You plan to take some time to think about how to alert MCAT to Ahma's threat, and go ahead when you have a good plan. That might be quick; it might take a while but it shouldn't be too long, you hope. Either way, you should take some time to plan. You know catching Ahma is important, but you're hoping to avoid awkward questions about how the mysterious Sailor Moon knows so much about this seemingly random schoolgirl.

[x] [AHMA] You plan to contact MCAT about this very soon, as soon as you get a spare minute. Doing things this way will probably raise a lot of questions about your secret identity and how the mysterious Sailor Moon knows so much about a random middle school student at Azabu-Juban Public Middle School.
[X] [AHMA] You plan to confront Ahma yourself, tomorrow, with the help of your friends who attend your school. While you'll probably have to wait to get to her after the school day, you know you can do it specifically tomorrow. And you're fairly confident that you can work things out so that nobody's too likely to end up questioning your secret identities.

We don't know how often she kills people. It'd really suck if she did a murder while we were thinking about how to launder our evidence.

Today we learned: Ami doesn't know anything about knitting. Because (knit) sweaters are one thread. Or a few thread used in sequence or in individual parts (sleeves, front, back) connected together.

Fortunately, we have three layers of protection for Moon.

1. They can't finger Usagi as Moon easily, if at all.
2. Naru is a known factor, can claim to recognize Ahma's name.
3. *Minako* is a lesser known factor, can claim to recognize Ahma's name.

Even with the risk, between getting outed and an innocent getting murked by the little monster, Usagi would choose to risk getting outed instead.

EDIT.

We don't need to take her on at all. By all accounts she is MCATs jurisdiction.
I mean. So's the Dark Kingdom, arguably, or at least their operations within Japan are.

Very true.

In fairness, the "take your time" option could result in Usagi figuring out how to launder her evidence literally this afternoon and MCAT arresting her tomorrow, for all she apparently knows. Usagi's inner monologue says "I'm gonna think about this," not "I'm gonna spend a week putting off this decision."

The difference is that in the "call MCAT right now" option, it sounds like she calls MCAT right the fuck now, or within, like, the next half hour or so at most.

Still, you're absolutely not wrong that it would be horrible if Ahma did a murder while we were worrying about how to launder our evdience.

It bears remembering that in the 'take some time' vote, Usagi's inner monologue is not thinking "I will carry out the optimized procedure for solving the problem." She is thinking "I will make a plan and carry it out." Since she's still aware that time is a factor and that this is a matter of considerable urgency, I would guess that she's probably going to go with the first plan that meets her criteria for "this is a fairly good-enough plan," and there is no guarantee that her plan will align with what you or I would consider the best plan.

The difference between the first two vote options would seem to be "does she bother taking any time at all to plan around secret identity maintenance," not "is she guaranteed to identify what you or I would consider the optimal solution." So one would have to consider how Usagi would handle making that plan, I guess?

Ami frowns. "I think she's starting to worry because she hasn't found any more Jewel Seeds since the Tree. That's… a big slowdown for her. She's certainly taking this very seriously, though. Studying Yuuno's magic very hard."

Rei pauses, briefly pauses, tapping a finger against her chin, looking just a little concerned. "I do think there's something else she's not telling us… But I don't know what. Maybe she's just having a fight with a friend at school or something. It's hopefully nothing to worry about."

If I had to guess, it looks like Fate Testarossa has entered the scene.

For the uninitated, Fate has been tasked by her abusive mother Presea, a former TSAB scientist, to collect all the Jewel Seeds so that she may "complete her research." Aided by her own Intelligent Device named Bardiche and her familiar Alph, she has many run-ins with Nanoha to try and secure the scattered Jewel Seeds first, but if she truly wants to collect the Seeds that Nanoha has already secured, a more definitive confrontation awaits.

...She's a sweet girl, though. I'm sure that she and Nanoha could end up as good friends after all this.

You mean she'll be her wife. The relationship between them is very not subtle.

She already did, in the Tsubomi-focused Heartcatch sidequest where she called Nanoha.

Guess who shares a VA, and guess how upset Nanoha was at that fact?
Flustered and embarrassed, rather. Tsubomi didn't think anything of it, is no stranger to social awkwardness herself, and is a fairly good listener, so she was able to put Nanoha at her ease about the incident.

Of course, Tsubomi has a tendency to adhere to the Code of Grandma on things like "secret identities" and "not telling other people things you don't want to bother them with." And her grandma's a very old school magical girl warrior type. If she was any older-school, she'd be an ancestral spirit.

So given that Nanoha told Tsubomi about Fate in confidence, Tsubomi's not going to relay that information to the Sailor Senshi unless, like, she specifically expects it to be the end of the world or something.

You mean she'll be her wife. The relationship between them is very not subtle.
That's the joke. People have noted the frequency with which authors and commentators take relationships with blatantly obvious gay subtext and say "and they were very close friends" about them, and started making fun of it.

It's a general form of the special case where people call Michiru and Haruka, Sailors Neptune and Uranus, "cousins" to make fun of the 1990s DiC dub of Sailor Moon. Because the DiC dub tried to cut out the homosexual relationship between them, but even after cutting out some of the most passionate scenes, there was so much dialogue to dub where it was obvious that they were close that they decided to use the excuse of "they're cousins" to explain why they're living together. This was so obviously absurd that people mock it. It's a running gag.

Well yes, I imagine Nanoha is still due to laser her in the face.:V
While Nanoha doesn't make all her friends this way (at least not in the crossover), she's certainly good at making friends that way.

(Nanoha and Setsuna are friends, but they never actually fought; the DId You Swipe My Juice Box incident was revealed as a tragic misunderstanding before it was too late)

I'm guessing "no" but that is a guess, not a declaration.

EDIT:

See, the thing is, escalating to violence with Nanoha is actually a fairly safe strategy as long as you're a cute girl who isn't profoundly committed to ruining everything for her and/or the world. You need to make damn sure those conditions are met, and in the short term it's going to be rough, but if you do meet the conditions, you can get away with it quite reliably, and Even Chibi'er Setsuna qualifies.

So I don't know if it'd even be a temporal disaster for the fight to happen.
