Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
I just think it's better to work with and coordinate with the spirit that's been holding it back the entire time rather than take it by surprise and possibly throw off the balance of what the piper was doing.

I'm a bit confused. We chose the option that afforded Ling Qi more time to explore the caverns. Shouldn't we then take advantage of that via communicating with the piper? Rushing to the breach sounds like something that would be a good idea if we'd chosen the other option during the last vote.

Having stared at this for a bit longer (and discussing it on discord), I'll be changing my vote.

If the things that are at risk of becoming damaged here are "the controlled (ie. Corrupted) natural guardians" and not the Piper itself, I am all for talking before seeking a permanent solution.

[x] Clear a node, see if the Piper can be reached.

The piper and his ecosystem are precious and must not be endangered.

I disagree with the notion that LQ can deal with the breach alone without risk, regardless of what Shu Yue said.

The Piper has been described as a quite powerful spirit, and even them could only temporarily contain the pollution, with quite limited success.

If that main underworld entity, the pupeeter, is a fourth realm, even after being weakened, any direct confrontation with it will be fraught.

We intend to seal the breach, and the Piper is already attempting to do so. We should coordinate our efforts.

we have no indication that the puppeteer is fourth realm; on the other hand, we do know that clearing a node is risking damage. in fact, if this was a fourth realm spirit, we would have seen much stronger impact from its presence- nothing nearby it is anywhere near, the closest thing that could contend with it would be Snowblossom. so it would just spread without obstacle.
even if it is a fourth realm, Shu Yue would hardly have sent us to our meaningless death. so it definitely wouldn't be a spirit LQ couldn't handle.
and Cultivation, inherently, has risks. you can't play it safe if you intend to reach high. and LQ had been through far worse.
and at last, if things truly are dire and we gotta escape, we still have the ability to dreamstep. sure, its harder in the underworld, but LQ herself said it. she is far, far better then she was last time. and even back then, she would have had no problem if not for an actual, high level Ith interference, which won't happen here.

going directly into the fight is far from a big risk. sure, its danger, but if we wanted to stay safe we wouldn't be going into the cathedral. I'd rather take a bit more risk to ensure the safety of the spirits.

I rather doubt our carp shenanigans alerted the puppeteer and we have avoided controlled guardians. I say we use the element of surprise while we have it.
