I'd hope they got a bit more than that, the US' foreign material exploitation program is hilariously competent. They airlifted an entire Hind across most of Africa before.

Counterpoints: they don't got no boots on the ground, no friendlies they trust 100% not to sell to someone else if they get some of the Mecha goodness *coughcoughfrogscoughcough* and are trying to get equipment with self-destruct features built into the parts they want the most, alongside Guang soldiers being instructed that they need to destroy ITs that are destroyed at once if they cannot be recovered before enemy forces overrun/push back their positions.

They got all the major components of the SA-2 missile from inside the USSR. No control regime is infallible.
 
Yes it's quite easy to make a program that automatically bricks itself if fucked with, also can't even attempt to look at the leftovers if the parts have been thoroughly melted by thermite as well.
