Shirou, has somebody been giving you opiates to help with the pain? Because, brother, you must be higher than the ceiling. Ayako is in danger because she is in the city, she is in danger because she even knows you, she's seen enough that she will already probably cause a masquerade breach before too long,... and there isn't a damn fucking thing you can do about that. The dice are already in the air and its too goddamn late to cancel your bets now.

Her knowing is going to give her a saving roll. If you don't tell her she is a dead girl walking.

Hopefully I haven't been writing OOC?

Once this is done we/he can direct her to the women of divine blood ie. the only ones who can help her keep Shirou from doing anything too stupid... hopefully, and if not at least help him survive the fallout,

Has there ever been a time in Proper Human History where not knowing about potential danger has kept someone safe from it?

Ayako would only be put in danger.
This is a very Shiroic type of thought. By which I mean, it's so mind-bogglingly stupid that it wraps around common sense and warrants thinking about it just to take it in.

She is already in danger, and was ever since you accepted her advances. After you were already involved with dangerous events, mind. The encounter with mad Lancer was what started the relationship; you'd think this would keep happening to you and people close to you.

The adult way of dealing with not wanting to endanger someone in a situation like Shirou's is to break off the relationship. Especially since there have been absolutely nothing between you in the way of emotional investment that prevents people from making rational decisions. We have a closer emotional connection to Medea who's been a stranger at the start of the story than with Ayako who's always been... around. But when have you ever seen it done in VNs? Rationality is not good for teenage drama.

All of the options on offer have Shirou keep Ayako being put in danger to keep the warm fuzzies going, one way or the other.

And if so, my only preference is the entertainment value.

Only in the sense that human beings are the product of their choices and their environment and who you are can end up being utterly alien to who you could have been. Different versions of Shirou could look at each other and go "What the fuck happened to you"... but that is true of all of us.

So many cool potential Mordred variants, Jack Variants, and every true fate fans dream of a Cyborg Fergus. So many garbage saber in a different fetish costume instead.

Shirou is the biggest liar in canon. He does it constantly.

"Yes Sakura. I'm happy."
Re-reading that line left me thinking:

I don't think Shirou wasn't happy around Sakura, Taiga and even Ayako.

It's that he believed he didn't deserved to be happy.

Therefore, everytime he felt joy, he would suppress it out of guilt.

That is indeed how Shirou works yes. The boy isn't healthy.

This will put Ayako in danger. But it may ease her mind, well, it'll certainly confuse her. But it would also help explain some things to her.
