Yup. That's one of the reasons it has taken so long. I'm actually surprised a plan without Gambler on it is in the lead. How dangerous is the whole binding a hostile entity directly to your soul thing?
On one hand several other colleges have their own version of the spell so it can't be too dangerous, is it just a worse consequence if you miscast?
I guess we have to test it to find out?
Iirc its a multi stage project for the first time.Yup. That's one of the reasons it has taken so long. I'm actually surprised a plan without Gambler on it is in the lead.
Do you think it might be poor timing to try binding an apparition immediately after being visited by a Changer of Ways?
In terms of how it looks when we reveal the process, I mean.
Differences between apparations and deamons are well documented by the collages. Has to be considering what some collages had been getting up to with apparations untill now. So we are in the clear both legally and magically. It is only somebody who is ignorant of the reserch that exist would confuse apparations with deamons.Do you think it might be poor timing to try binding an apparition immediately after being visited by a Changer of Ways?

Saying something is 'a worse consequence' than a miscast is a little tricky given how variable they are. Even the largest miscast can be harmless, or even situationally beneficial. However even the smallest can with sufficiently bad luck drag the caster out of reality to meet the chaos gods in person. Or open a portal bisecting their body that will spawn demons. Or just atomise everything within a large area. How dangerous is the whole binding a hostile entity directly to your soul thing?

You have the text of the non ostland one in your vote, despite using the ostland title?
It's not like we are going to reveal it next turn, we are only starting the process.
Would having an apparition bound to our soul be a problem next time we get daemonchecked by Algard? Because the Orbs are probably going to inspire it yet again. Like, if he's using a banishment spell would it kick our apparition out of us back to the aethyr?

I mean, how often does your typical Gold, Amber or Jade magister let a Light mage cast spells on them?Does a significant number of the Gold, Amber and Jade Colleges fail daemon checking with the common Light magic spell?

I mean, it's possible that Dark Hounds aren't enough like daemons to get kicked out, but that Red Riders are? There might be a spectrum of "demon-enough-like to be affected" vs "not enough like a daemon to be affected", we don't know. Though I guess it might be in our Extensive and Esoteric books about Apparitions; Boney, if you see this, is there anything in our rare books about Apparitions to tell us about the interaction with Light magic that affects demons, especially the Apparitions traditionally associated with members of the Four?I mean, they use those on Magisters with bound apparitions...I highly doubt Gehenna just gets a free pass on being daemon checked, for example, so I doubt it causes issues.
Yeah. We write the paper with him and hopefully let him know that it would have been 100% fine for him to write the paper himself, and that we were purposely holding off on doing that so as to not snipe the credit. CF and a bonding experience, everyone wins.To clarify, is the Egrimm Windfall action in the plan the one where we try to get it into Egrimm's head that he shouldn't worry about him taking the credit?
I think it's just us finally sitting down and writing it together with him since we're tired of waiting for him to do it alone. If I remember right, Boney made a comment along the lines of, Egrimm wouldn't really trust his boss coming down and going, 'No, really, you do it and take the credit' after his time with Alric. To clarify, is the Egrimm Windfall action in the plan the one where we try to get it into Egrimm's head that he shouldn't worry about him taking the credit?

Yeah, you're probably right in quest, but in canon... *looks pointedly at Egrimm being covered in chaos tattoos as a light wizard*In the two hundred year history of the Colleges often enough. It's not like they would wave off a result of 'possession' as a fluke
