Man I don't want war but come on, we've got to have a little national pride here. I'd have preferred we release him, but giving an apology? Absolutely not.

This is a choice between peace and playing chicken with a second war in less than a decade - not to mention it's over the questionable conviction of a man that was invited to our nation. Can warhawks really not come up with better lines?

To be fair, holding him does give us the opportunity to investigate further to figure out whether he really is guilty.

You know, even though I have to admit that this wasn't on my mind when I decided how to vote, it's actually an excellent point.

I'd prefer there be no war with France at all, but if it does come, the best scenario by far is one where we face it with a united populace feeling justly aggrieved.
