Hmm interesting. What flavour do we want to add to exploration of trauma and self hatred, abandoned shrine or dead people place?

I have a feeling that this trip will have almost nothing to do with Su Ling's mother at all. I think we might be delving into Su Ling subconscious territory here. We see what appears to be a small Su Ling in a place she says she remembers. May not be a memory but could be pulling from what she knows.

Could be completely wrong though and it could be mom origin story.

Anyone of any good reason to pick cemetery?
I think it would probably explore grief. I bet her father will be buried there, if Su Ling's mom left anything behind. Even if she didn't, they might like having a place-marker to remember him by, for Su Ling to learn about. I would imagine when she thinks of her father, she might think of a grave her grandmother took her to.

Not saying that I'm deff voting for this option, just that this is what I'm guessing the cemetery option would be about. Also her mom left behind any other victims in their village or in the area, that might be explored as well.

[X] The old shrine

I think we could learn a little about old dream cults by going to the shrine. Or find out how the people worshipped powerful spirits and spirits beasts in the past.

On the other hand, we know that Su Ling never met her father and doesn't know anything about him. She was raised by an elderly herbolist in a small village.
Maybe her grave will be in the cementery an we will learn more of her relationship with Su Ling?

Not really care either way.
If Li Suyin was also here I would go the cementery, though.

[X]The cemetery

This is pretty sure to be the community that Su Ling came from, above and beyond her mom and grandma. I'm interested in seeing the larger context.

[X] The old shrine

This wins out for me by the barest of margins. Zhengui our boi is getting shrines of his own, so learning about what it is all about "in the wild" could only help there.
