Grand Army of the Republic: A Star Wars Plan Quest

@Oshha With the goal 'Speeders/Tanks/Walkers: 50 Points Remaining (+4 SS)' do we need to produce 50 points of speeders as well as 50 points of tanks and 50 pts of walkers? Or is the 50 points required split between the three categories, so 16 pts of speeders, 16 pts of tanks and 18 pts of walkers would satisfy the requirements?

Thanks for that. Also there are no option for Tanks on the list - the Sabre counts as a Speeder, apparently - so has Dooku said anything about providing us Tank options in te future?

To be fair, it is a pretty good starfighter compared to a lot of what is currently out there. It is just the majority of pre-Clone Wars starfighters are terrible so it is a case of a short man standing tall amongst dwarves.

The problem with standing tall among dwarves is that the taller you stand among them the more it places your kneecaps in the perfect target zone for if you piss them off enough that they start swinging their hammers.

If we take a small production of A-7s now and then put a serious effort into another starfighter project we can keep our SS intact and perhaps regulate the A-7s to the role of trainer craft.

That isn't part of the metaphor and doesn't work in the situation we are talking about. The A-7 is superior to the majority of pre-Clone Wars and while it won't stand up well against starfighters made for war, it does stand up well to those that aren't built for war.

Are there better starfighters than the A-7 that can be produced in the needed numbers available right now?

[X] [ATRT] Medium production. (-25 R) (-10 R per turn) (++++ Scout Walkers per turn)

Yes. You just need to take this option.

There are plenty of people who make various starfighters for others to buy out there. Instead of making your own, you could pay them to make them for you. Sure, this is a secret project, you don't need to tell them the truth.
(DC 60) (-5 SS, +5 E)

So the current plan is -

[] [ATRT] Large production. (-25 R) (-20 R per turn) (+++++ Scout Walkers per turn)
[] [ATTE] Large production. (-50 R) (-40 per turn) (++++ Heavy Walkers per turn)
[] [Sabre] Large production. (-50 R) (-40 per turn) (++++ Medium Speeders per turn)
[] [A7] Kriff no to these deathtraps. (-5 SS)

@Oshha As I'm reading this plan it's producing 8 speeders, 8 heavy walkers and 16 scout walkers per turn, for a total of 32 points per turn. So we would reach the target in Q4 BBY 30, a year ahead of schedule. Is that correct?

I'll confess to having limited knowledge of expanded universe stuff so Star Wars scholars I must ask is the ARC-170 good? I hope so because it's so gloriously ugly that I'd miss it terribly if we had to go without it.

It's described as a heavy starfighter, even though it only has 2 laser cannons forward and 2 laser cannons after, because it has a proton torpedo launcher and a 3 man crew. Most of the feedback about it is pretty positive, and not just be cause it's the obvious ancestor of the X-Wing.

It also has Hyperdrive, shields and it's nose is filled with powerful sensors, scanners, and jammers, which also allows it to perform long range scouting missions and raids.

With all this outsourced production we are burning funds like no tomorrow. There going to options to get some funds soon.

How much money are we currently bleeding per Turn?

The Turn sheet mentions we're spending 535 resources per turn, and we've got six turns to go for this cycle, so that's a total of 3210 Resources. The current plan costs us 125 Resources to start plus 100 Resources per turn for the remaining six turns, for another 725. We have 6710 currently, so that will leave us with 2695 Resources we can spend - and that's not counting anything else we have to buy.
