The Path Unending (A Cultivation Quest)

@Vesvius for Alectai's hammer tech plan, could we write in an option to trade BSA to the Archives instead of/in supplement to sect points? Or would recording BSA be it's own action due to the time involved?

Asked and answered before. Selling BSA requires a full action. There's even on for it in the options:

[] Your purse is light and your sect token even lighter, but there may be a way to remedy the last. You've recently mastered a technique of your own design and are able to pass it on. The Archives might be interested in acquiring such a technique for their own. You will approach them and attempt to strike a deal for further sect points.

Sure, if we want to go there for sect points. But you always get more value on a trade-in or store credit than you do for cash.

Guys I did some maths and thanks to our treasure if we buy 3 grade 1 wind pills we will be set to cycle all the wind anam we need to integrate "An Elegan Plume", so if we wanted we could finish integrating it in 2 weeks more or less. I'm adding it to my plan, it will costs us 4 sect point per pill, for a total of 12 sect points.

- [] You are now a member of the Eighth Circle, and as such, your time is no longer your own. Elder Siani and his Caretakers require your service. (This action counts as 3 Actions. This action is mandatory.)
- [] The only true way to walk your path is to cycle the anam of the world. You will do so.

[X] Plan Indiana Kong and the Regalia of Kings, Fractal Edition

I don't have a strong opinion for or against either of the leading plans in terms of actions, but this one is the one that has us buying pills so we can master Elegant Plume faster, so I'll give it my support.

Enjou, we are in no critical rush for the pills since we're two turns out even after this one from having the actions to really bear down on Plume, that's why I didn't add it.

This seems like a really strange piece to hammer on as the red line unless you've some reason to believe we won't be able to make any orders next turn.

The plan is literally identical to Backlog Intensifies aside from its insistence on micromanaging our actions and the pills. And a fifth AFV action that decides to get it one turn earlier for... Reasons I guess? Being okay with potentially wasting an AP if it means getting something we're not even going to be using until next week anyway when we'd be finishing it?

But fine.

If it's literally the Pills that are the dividing line, then fine, I've added those in an extra line. It does introduce a possible risk of not being able to pick up a martial art that can be used for hammer fighting, but that's apparently the price we have to pay (Though I'd say it's not a high risk--I don't see conventional martial arts being charged on the same scale as Anam Techniques)

If we end up using the pill we have in this week's Caretaker action, we'll need to order the other pills this week if we want them available for next week's Caretaker action.

I'm not too worried about the cost on the hammer martial art. It's likely going to cost less than an anam technique, and we are getting our allowance.

Also, you added the line to the wrong post. You put it in the one before the moratorium ended. You should edit this one if you want it included, since that's the one that is actually linked in the tally. EDIT - I see you've done it, thanks.

Didn't Siani specifically say not to rely on pills? How many times have we bought pills since then?

I kind of want to see what happens with the ~special~ Wind pill before getting any more.

[X] Plan: War
-[] You are now a member of the Eighth Circle, and as such, your time is no longer your own. Elder Siani and his Caretakers require your service. (This action counts as 3 Actions. This action is mandatory.)
-[] Your puzzle nears perfection. All that is left is to infuse it with anam. (x4)
--[] Infuse it with Anam from all three of your Core Aspects, using the Wonders you've discovered in the recent weeks. It may not matter, but it feels like a reasonable gesture to make.
-[] You have recently begun searching for the Lord's Regalia, the crown jewels of the ancient Moloth people. If anything will have become a Natural Treasure of Royalty in the last several thousand years, it will be that. You have the location of the Jade Lord's Echo, a hall it was frequently used in. Perhaps you will find more clues there.
--[] Your information suggests the Lord's Regalia is brought to the Jade Lord's Echo, and returned quickly. This suggests it is not far from where the Lord's Regalia is kept--however, the information you've gathered so far suggests it's not as simple as just going to the Echo and focusing on your Sixth Sense... Or at least, it may not be. You recall a certain Spirit Boar with an excellent Sixth Sense, perhaps you may be able to trade some kind of food or trinket in exchange for his aid in discovering a strong source of Anam near the Echo? The alternative of course could be some grand endeavor such as with the Lost Armory but you may be able to gain some insight looking there even if this angle of approach fails.
-[] On your belt hangs a small hammer inhabited by a Kukuni of Steel you have dubbed Chui Dao. It seems to be an affable spirit with a passion for beating metal, but there may be more. You will experiment with Chui Dao and see what other secrets hide within his metal.
--[] You recall the shape of Chui Dao altering when you were about to draw him forth in anger, in your confrontation with Geng Tu. You're unfamiliar with weapon techniques so far, but perhaps you may be able to express your wishes to the Kukuni? You will take it to the Black Anvil and try to wield it as part of the Hummingbird's Dance while cycling War into the technique.
-[ ] Commission 3x Grade 1 Wind Pills from Shouxi

Differs from the Backlog on the way we try to experiment with Chui Dao.

Vesvius clarified this on Discord. We weren't allowed to use pills on these until we had the Wonders for our core aspects. It's apparently fine now that we have those, and we can use the pills for the secondary aspects. The idea is that we needed to have a reliable foundation of resources to use, and pills aren't as reliable as having Wonders and Treasures. Siani would still recommend we get additional Wonders so we have as many options as we can get, but it's fine to use Wind pills for Plume since those are secondary. Another reason to get the Wonders is that cycling rather than only popping pills lets us up our Cycling skill.

It's less relying on them and more they help make the numbers less awkward. Helps us not lose Anam when one type (smoke in this case) gets over the threshold but the other (wind) doesn't.

I don't think further sparring with Chui Dao is sensible right now.

So, Chui Dao consists of a wierd... mixture of newborn Steel Kukuni and a old made-as-a weapon War Kukuni, in a way that even Siani doesn't understand. It currently gives us really neat crafting bonuses, which we want to keep and maybe enhance. However, we have only seen it react to and feeding it a diet of War Aman, in conflicts (confronting Geng) and wonders (hammering it on a anvil of War aman). I fear that if we use it in sparring, and fed even more War aman into it without feeding any Steel Aman into it (through using it in crafting), we risk reawakening the old murderous War Kukuni aspects of it, and reducing the crafting-related Steel capacities of it. I think further development of Chui Dao as a weapon should wait until we use it in a crafting context or try using it in Steel-rich environment like the Thicket.
