This is probably only notable to me due due to my hate boner for the Court of Stars but the Uncertainty Wards must have took a huge dump on any potential Golden Court revenge plans :D

[X] Richard gaining even more grey hairs…
Richard sworded so hard that when he became Mythic, he shanked the concept of aging right through the spleen, so now he's effectively immortal.

Now he and Mereth can be together as long as they want, rather than him growing old in just a few decades like some sort of hapless mortal.

All Companions either have or will have some form of immortality or slowed aging, which is awesome.

Imperator Viserys Targaryen -- True Red with a base lifespan of 1000+ years at minimum, in addition to Mythic Longevity as long as a single cleric of his lives
Princess Daenerys Targaryen -- Native Outsider, not sure if they're capable of dying of old age but I imagine she'd live centuries anyway
Ser Richard Lonmouth -- Mythic Longevity, effectively immortal
Empress Lya Targaryen -- Can literally just craft newer younger bodies for herself as needed, though at the cost of XP
Lord Garin Drekelis -- Dhampir, which apparently means he's looking at a lifespan of a thousand years
Xor -- Aberration, aging doesn't seem to apply to him since he was largely unaffected by chilling in a Flesh Forge for several centuries following the Doom
Lady Rina Cox -- Winter Fey, effectively immortal

And everyone else is inevitably going to get some form of immortality. Even if they were stubbornly of the "I want to pass on when my time comes" mindset that had to have changed drastically when we found out how utterly screwed the afterlife is. If they don't quite make it, that's alright. We've got them covered with Cyclical Reincarnation and/or forging them newer younger bodies in the Flesh Forge like we did for Bloodraven.

Even if they were stubbornly of the "I want to pass on when my time comes"
It's almost too bad that anyone who held this opinion has been scared straight by this point, what with the plans for the imperial afterlife that are in the works.

Imagine just sticking someone in a perfect replica of their office when they appear as a petitioner, right down to the last paperwork they were working on, and just telling them we expect them to perform just as well working remotely as they did while on plane.:V

I wonder how the sultan will take the thivery.

On one hand that would be brutal unaceptable and someone will have to paid and security to be better.

On the other hand he would know that visery isnt as invincible he cast himself(or people close to him) to be, that fight was kinda humbling to some degree.

I think he'd be more pissed about the successful escape than mollified by how close we were to failure, if he hears much about it at all.

I mean, I expect the information will be available to him, but the guy is running an absurdly huge operation. We've effectively been funding our government on the scraps of his military budget alone.

A lot of high power efreeti are going to be directly invested in fucking us over in return, but we're still little league compared to the scale these factions operate on.

Asking what the sultan thinks of this seems roughly analogous to asking what Bezos thinks about some armed robbers who just stole a half full Amazon delivery van right off the loading dock in the middle of Idaho.

Edit: dropped a word.

The one thing i dont understand about the boundary ward still is that what does it define as a major planar intrusion to it?
100 demons? 1000 demons? Or a major demonlord like orcus paying prime material a visit.
Edit: Or a gate

If it was some dude try to drop a delivery van sure, but this is more as elon musk with a merry band of cyborg decide to rob him personally, even if it was just a simple robbery, that it was the leader of a polis in the rising is concerning or a least intersting enough to check it up.

I just thought about something

We need to protect our mages against abraxas.
He could use the dreamlands to tempt our wardmages.and we need to assign a circlet of percieve betrayal to a extremely loyal mage or imperial cleric there.

Interlude MCCXI: By Small Steps
By Small Steps

Twelfth Day of the Ninth Month 294 AC

The first thing Richard noticed on stepping through the heavy lead-lined door was the smell. It was neither foul nor fair but something of both sweet and sour, bitter as brine and fresh as spring air. He could not even see magic properly in here from all the vials on the walls and the strange tubes bubbling away, spirals of hardened glass and silver coiling around the chamber like many-colored serpents, the color of auras dancing before his eyes. Now were was Trainer in all this?

"Ser Knight.. er, what can I do for you?" the sandy-haired boy asked as she stepped out from some nook in the back of the laboratory. Granted he was not that much younger than Richard, but the catch in his voice marked him as such regardless.

"I have a question about your craft and I was wondering if you could help me with it," he replied, sliding a box of healing salve across the table between them. The thing was so smooth it almost flew off, but to his credit Trainer caught it deftly.

"I will do my best, but I must confess I cannot think of any matter of the arcane in which I would know more about than Her Majesty the Imperatrix..."

"Her Majesty is currently trying to make sense of the Wall up North, and she was never much of one for potions and philters anyway."

The boy nodded cautiously and looked over the box in his hand. "This is fine work, Royce Alechemical works made of course. They do excellent distilling and produce in far larger batches than could otherwise be managed."

"Can you make it better though, if it was just you working on it and time was no matter, nor coin either?"

"Er... perhaps." It was clear he was unsure what Richard was getting at but did not quite know how to ask what he was about.

"I know there are potions that can do better, but you have to uncork a vial and drink it when you might have better things to be doing with your mouth in the middle of a fight. I want something like that, that can be applied by someone else right on the wound, just stronger." Something that would have woken you up faster so he wouldn't have been dead weight when your liege was fighting for his life. The knight swallowed the bitterness, it would do no good now. Next time he would do better, he vowed.

For a long moment the young mage was silent. "Is aura strength a concern?" he asked at last.

Clever lad, Richard thought, offering a small approving nod. He had not gotten it right of course, but he was using his head and that was always good to see. "No, this is for use in areas where higher spells can't be counted."

"I shall see what I can do, Ser Knight," Trainer said at last. "I make no promises save of diligence."

"And I do not expect more than that, nor does the Imperator," Richard said in parting, leaving the alchemist to his work.

OOC: I know you guys were expecting a Mereth interaction, but Richard is really not the sort to go bear his feeling every time something bad happens, he is more inclined to do all he can to make sure the bad thing does not happen again. Better healing salve is the sort of thing that is too simple for new form research actions so I thought why not show a companion doing something on their own initiative on this.

No complaints here, Ser Richard being himself is always a treat.

Also, just plain better healing items is a good thing in general for those who can't use higher level magic.
