Nice to see all the discussion guys. I guess all the administrative choices the more intriguing story and I really should have put more focus on that when I was doing Barrow Hunt #1256 or something.

Well, as far as I am concerned, it's not that interesting to debate into how tiny giblets to blast the next encounter.

I hate being sensible. It makes for a boring story. I would have loved to read about the screw ups of this beetle. Just like Moonsong

Bah, people and their reasoning? Where's the fun guys???

Shame about Nineteen, I was looking forward to a Mythic architect for our infrastructure projects because that's how you get things like the Wall. Unfortunately for Nineteen, we need people who competently fit in with the greater whole more than we need stellar people who act alone.

Definitely give Nineteen a big role though. If Shad can keep a handle on Fey workers then its a win-win.

So is it worth the time to dig up a whole bunch of support items for government work? I don't want to complicate the modeling too much, but there's all kinds of neat items that'd be valuable and flavorful additions to the Imperial government.

Edit: stuff like passing outSpectacles of Comprehension with the Saccadic Focusing Prisms we're already using to the IRS would be fun. Good luck submitting fraudulent paperwork if the people processing it can read it ten times as fast as normal and can instinctively detect obfuscation. :V

As far as I see it, those things would be great to be gathered in a big infopost of background information, since we can assume that any planar entity of sufficient wealth will use them. The Imperium obviously being part of that number.

Saccadic Focusing Prism: Read 10 times faster than normal at complete comprehension.

Spectacles of Comprehension: +5 to linguistics checks around researching texts and understanding documents. Also allows the user to automatically detect if deliberate obfuscation and/or loopholes are present in contracts they're reading, but not what they specifically are.

Mask of a Thousand Tomes: provides a +10 competence bonus to all knowledge checks while wearing it, but blinds the user while they have it on.

Visualization of the Mind: pick a mental attribute, for the next 24 hours the subject has a +5 bonus to all ability and skill checks related to it. Also allows for the spell to be discharged early for special effects.

Investigative Mind: for 10 minutes/CL the subject can roll twice and take the higher result on all appraise, knowledge, linguistics, and spell craft rolls.

Mechanus Mind: 1 minute/CL. Provides a +4 resistance bonus against Mind effect affects and a +2 competence bonus to all int checks, but a -2 malus to all cha checks.

Combined Talent: Allows 2 creatures to share 1 skill rank/CL up to 10 for a single use of up to 10 minutes.

Magecraft: +5 competence bonus on a single craft check representing a day of work.

Gloves of Shaping: The user can work any substance with less than 8 hardness as if it was soft clay, and anything with more than 8 as if it had half of its true hardness.

Fantastic Machine: For 1 minute/CL generate a construct that can perform any simple physical task you can describe in 25 words or less. Hello instant industrial machinery.

Distilled Joy: allows the user to siphon the material essence of joy from creatures experiencing bliss. This substance has a number of uses, most prominently allowing the crafting of good style magic items. If used as a crafting material it counts as 2 exp/1 dose.
(Not sure how this will work out with the quest specific lore, but it's worth a shot)

Figurine of the Dwarven Forge: A portable forge that allows someone with craft magic arms and armor to use a scroll to make items of spells they don't know.

Most of these are reposts of items/spells I've mentioned before, but I wanted to get them into a cleaner format and grouped with the other effects cheap or useful enough to use on a wider scale. I'll just update stuff like that into this instead of leaving it mixed with PC gear and shenanigans items.

Of the new stuff I've posted, Distilled Joy is of particular interest since it might allow us to break into crafting good magic items to pair with our fiend blood soaked ones.

Do drugs count or does the bliss have to be healthy?

It doesn't specify one way or another, but I'd guess that good flavored magic probably wouldn't react well to joy sourced from something inherently self destructive.

Then again, if this is part of how the celestials made all of their stuff they must have had something to make it easier to produce.
