I note the Leader trait specifically references military action. That's the trait for being a battlefield commander, which is... a thing, but I'm not sure it's a thing we particularly want or need.

We're about to gain access to an ancient magic library in many different languages. Polyglot is a clear winner for this reason.

But we already speak all the relevant languages; Lingua Praestantia, Tar-Eltharin and Khazalid are going to be important for the project.

Now, if we were going to Lustria or to Khemari or to Cathy, it might be useful, but I don't see us needing to learn another language in the near future.

Hahahaha wtf Dhar Insight is in the lead, I bet Omegahugger is dancing in joy rn. A bit disappointed Draconic Fascination isn't more popular, but oh well. The bigger disappointment is that Theologian isn't outright winning lol. I honestly thought when I read the update that Dhar Insight would be a joke vote.

Votes in respective order of perference:
[x] DIPLO: Polyglot
[x] DIPLO: Draconic Fascination
[x] DIPLO: Dawri

[x] LESSON: Theologian
[x] LESSON: Mystic
[x] LESSON: Dhar Insight

Man the voting tool is so convenient :D

Edit: Removed Trucemaker and Collegiate. Added Dawri.

That means if she tries to channel anything but Ulgu through it, Dhar is guaranteed
How did that work out when we mugged Mork? Did Ranald invest more power than he could routinely do to shield/clean Mathilde as she channeled Divine-Waaagh because the return was definitely worth it?

Looks at Dhar insight leading.

Welp, looks like we are in a negaverse.

I'm okay with it.

[X] LESSON: Dhar Insight

No. Arcane and Divine Marks are a unique form of mutation, caused by someone's soul being partly transmuted into the form of energy that is being channelled through it. Part of Mathilde's soul is made of Ulgu instead of whatever it is souls are normally made out of. That means if she tries to channel anything but Ulgu through it, Dhar is guaranteed and miscast is extremely likely.

What about the Marks of the Dark Gods? Not that I want to test it out, just curious.

I understand if the reply is 'you don't know' because Chaos mages are fine doing insane things like multi-cast since they are crazy already.

It's unknown whether Marks of the Chaos Gods are the same sort of thing as Arcane or Divine Marks (and suggesting they might be is a great way to piss of Wizards and Priests at the same time), and it's unknown how they interact with spellcasting.

[X] DIPLO: Collegiate
[x] LESSON: Dhar Insight

I want to see more wizards, therefore, more wizard-related traits.

e:

[X] DIPLO: Polyglot

Also that library.

Arcane Khazalid, Anoqeyen, High Nehekaran. There's a lot more out there to learn so I think you're drastically underestimating how useful polyglot will be, and each of those opens our library to large increases in effect.
1) Translators exist. Any book we can access in some long forgotten language we can pay gold to access in a language we already know. Which is most of the meaningful ones.
2) We can already learn languages. Heck we already learn languages without even needing to spend AP on then.

Polyglot doesn't expand what we can do. It just makes an increasingly small and insignificant selection of actions a little cheaper. There have been a lot of claims about how valuable polyglot would be. None have ever been backed by evidence or even just convincing logic. Polyglot is a trait you take at character creation. Not something to waste a slot on when you already know all the important languages.
