I wonder if Laenor would like to be Headmaster of a Scholarium based in Westeros?

He's definitely got the skills and power for it, and a blatant prejudice against R'hllorites isn't really going to be much of an issue in that part of the Imperium for a while. The Targaryen pedigree would serve him well, too.

You know, we don't have to appoint him to some powerful position...

True enough, but if he is looking to come out of retirement and serve the Imperium in some capacity, he is very well qualified to head up a Scholarium branch. We don't have a lot of really suitable candidates for such positions.

EDIT: BTW, just as an example of how bored and out of sorts I was yesterday morning before work when I would normally be reading an ASWAH or Hell's Heart update or otherwise interacting with the quests, I was instead on Amazon ordering new towels and wash clothes.

Is a very conservative guy that sees the locals as nothing but barbarians really a good pick though?

He would be much more useful as a researcher, crafter or some other job where his personal political stances don't get in the way.

Oh and one more thing before I go. Over these last few days I have been looking up Silmarilion fanfic and found something interesting:

Everlasting Song

It is about the Sons of Feanor reborn in Westeros as men with their memories more or less intact, no obvious magic or supernatural powers (even by the standards of Tolkien's work) so far, but what they do have is the experaince of fighting a war almost beyond the imagination of men. Also as they are born to several Great Houses they really screw up a bunch of politics by existing since for all they are not without Quarrel the Sons of Feanor are obviously quite loyal to each other.

That, too. As a Concept Cleric with the Knowledge and Dream Domains, he should be well suited to research related to the Imperial Deity. He would probably also be helpful when it comes time to develop the infrastructure that will enable the Imperial Mage PRC to function.

Ok, not jumping the gun then.

By the way, did we lose anything due to the hardware issue with this site? I may consider saving the chapters and the winning votes to a cloud and offline.

It's good to see the site's back up. I don't care what the data center says, it's clear this is actually Westeros' fault. Doran spilled his mug of tears while mocking Mace and it got all over the server. :V
