Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Would not getting an Insight be worth it here and now?

I see how the two choices could work with Ling Qi, but I am not fully confident in them as choices.

Also that Wu guy. I wonder if he's from the same clan as Wu Jing (the guy who was in the Luo party and dissed us)
Probably a different Wu clan. Wu Jing is from a Viscount clan under the Luo (formerly a border Count clan in their own right) and this guy was standing among the court clans. So he's probably from a Viscount court clan like the doctor court clan like that Moon guy from the Sect.

I assume someone would have mentioned this, but when do we have to start worrying about lack of slots for insights?

EDIT: Also, how many more potential insights will we get to vote upon before LQ has to progress to the next tier of cultivation?

For now, my vote is:
[X] Do not take insight from Roaming Moon's Eye

[X] The future changes with every step, never be certain you know what is coming

I don't see the fail states of paranoia or some kind of "too flexible" Domain failure as likely, and I'm generally in favor of Ling Qi having more change themes in her Domain. I'm happy with this for itself and not just comparatively, I think.

That extra time for spit n polish really landed an excellent update well done @yrsillar ! <3

One thing I'm not seeing being mentioned alongside HDW's "Step" based insight, is how much this could be a DANCE baby.

Knowing RME is for seeing the present, not for predicting the future, really lets us dance the trickster two-step. You thought your future was certain? Then what's that dancing on your timeline hmmmm????

This also places the Future in our Domain. As a Song Seeker, we've talked a lot about the potential to recover songs of the past. But what about seeking songs of the Future hmm?
The future may be uncertain, but it's not powerless. And, interestingly to me, we can probably use the triple moon songseeking for all three temporal cases (past, present, future). Dream of hidden songs of any time, and steal them to the waking world!

It excites me that we might not only be a Songseeker, but one who dances to the Songs she collects. That's so cool <3

'no insight' is always an option.

The green realm gives overall 19 slots for regular insights. We have so far filled 6.
We are training our domain fairly fast, so for now it looks like we have many slots available, but given the sheer amount of arts we are training, we will at some point have to refuse some insights.

However, once we refuse an insight, we cant get it back either, just like we cant delete those we did take. So if you think an option looks good or interesting enough to justify the slot, then you can absolutely vote for it. If neither option appeals to you that much, then 'no insight' is a fair choice.

I think both of the insights come with more downsides than up, leaning towards rootlessness either physical (wandering) or for future planning (uncertainty).

Integrating either is likely to end up needing a bunch of time down the road massaging it into something more acceptable. Better to not take them in the first place.

I agree, we've already gotten one heart demon by taking all the insights we can without much planning. No need to repeat that. Neither of these two insights slots in particularly well, though the latter on its own has a nice Hidden Moon flavor.

There are two arts we refused to take insights from: Curious Diviner's Eye and Ephemeral Night's Memory.

So we seem to be rejecting about 1/4 of our possible insights so far.

The problem I have with this is that, when one day her job in diplomacy with the wall ends and Ling Qi wants to settle, will her way being built around a job that has already finished not lead to a lot of problems?
That assumes the insight is only about her job in diplomacy instead of it being an intersection with what Ling Qi wants to do, and her job/duty similar to how fief management is an intersection between her job/duty with her desire to make a home for her family. Because CRX has shown in the past that she should be amenable to working things out to align with the virtues of her retainers, which is what she is trying to do the with the Count clans for Shenhua's Order.

Regardless it seems unlikely for conflict within the Wall to end in Ling Qi's lifetime, and the sheer size of the Wall insures it scales well. Also it isn't a virtue limited to knowledge on culture as the Dream, ES culture, and other avenues for acquiring knowledge.

I think that a 25% Insight rejection rate is about appropriate. Being too picky with Insights is as problematic a behavior as taking too many, and most Insights are relatively sensible. It's not like we're taking Insights of 'Murder is Okay' and 'Greed is Good.'
