Prince Aladdin Quest (Disney Villains *Almost* Victorious)

Well this quest is going to be a challenge and a half, if we roll a 251 the villain rolls a 28 and still gets to escape.
Jafar is vastly, drastically weakened. Remember how that black lightning stripped the magic off of Abu? How much of Jafar's new magic do you think was bound up in that staff? Not to mention the loss of a hand. His sanity may have also taken a few dents.

Yikes...

Well... let's hear it for the guards?

[X] Out of Sight, Out of Mind: Offer to take Iago to Ababwa where he won't have access to any of the caches or other hidden trinkets and baubles that Jafar surely has left stashed within the Palace. You can figure out some sort of proper punishment that isn't just locking him away.

Shrug. I like Iago. It may take some doing but he could be a good source of occult information and could have a very decent intrigue and occult score. The other two options basically mean he's dead so...

[X] Full Disclosure of the wish and the circumstances: Aladdin tells Jasmine everything that he knows. Though it appears that he may have some serious gaps in his memory now...
No roll. Aladdin lays things out fully and hopes that Jasmine will forgive him.

The only real choice honestly.

[X] An Obelisk: Simple but striking, a white marble obelisk engraved with the names of the fallen and a thank-you for their sacrifice. Emphasizes them as a group.

Reminds me or the various memorials I've visited.

[X] Plan Justice, Truth and Honor

Take responsibility for what you've done, the parrot isn't ours to deal with and everyone likes statues.

[X] Plan Garden, Disclosure and none of my business

The Garden feels much more in keeping with how we've set up Ababwa as a place.

[X] Not my Parrot, not my Circus: Allow the Sultan to decide without weighing in on the situation.

Its JAFAR
He was never gonna go down in one roll, no matter how good
Man was one of about 20 rulers of the world in original dvv, and one of the more powerful ones to boot

Bad news: Jafar is still alive.
Good news: He has had some overwhelming setbacks and jumped into an unstable portal leading Allah knows where (probably not good for his health).
Bad News^2: If he does survive the trip he'll probably be willing to do anything (up to an including making a pact with Chernabog) in order to get back at us.
Annoying News: Considering that the palace is mentioned to still be on the cliffs surrounding the city, looks like the various effect from Jafar's wish and magic won't be undone anytime soon.

Now for plans:

[X] Plan Truth, Justice and stool parrots
-[X] Write In
--[X] Jafar may be gone (for now) but any of the sorcerer's caches, hidden trinkets and hideouts are likely still scattered about Agrabah. Suggest to Iago that the Sultan and Razoul might be more willing to let him keep his head if he is willing to offer up information on Jafar.

I am interested in keeping Iago alive but we can't rely on the milk of human kindness here. Also it's probably not the best idea to make suggestions to the Sultan on this matter. Instead prompt Iago to spill his guts (in order to keep his guts from getting spilled) about Jafar's hidden lab etc. Because there are a lot of mystical goodies in there (that we want to have under lock and key) along with the Sultan's heirloom blue diamond ring that Jafar took in order to use as a regent to ID Aladdin as the 'Diamond in the rough'.

Full disclosure. As Genie said "Tell her the truth".

As for the obelisk, I like it because it is a straight-forward and enduring symbol/monument. Also it emphasizes them as a group which might help down the line.

Though if anyone can suggest a better wording of the write-in; I'm open to it.

That's true, I was just expressing my surprise, and I don't really know the setting that well. Looking at the setting more now though Jafar must be on the upper end of the rulers, so I'm quite happy with the results! I think I'll move my vote to jwolfe's plan. I like the idea of raiding Jafar's stuff, and since it doesn't waste money and time on the statue even better.

With this, we can aim for Iago to do some community service working for Aladdin. Iago is a font of lore regarding a lot of things related to magic, so we really, REALLY need him.

Jasmine forgave Aladdin even without him having his own men. She will forgive him even if it turns out the Genie went whole hog. We gotta honor our blue bro on this.

[X] A Statue: Joint commission of a statue of the men who braved the magical wrath of Jafar. Expensive, takes a long time to finish.

well we got lucky there with Razoul saving the day.

[X] Plan Garden, Disclosure and none of my business

And this plan works for me the parrot isn't our problem so we shouldn't really interfere with it.

Edit changed plan to the one with the garden.
The parrot is a font of irreplaceable magic lore about both other mages that Jafar knew about and a lot of magical creatures. Losing him is losing a huge asset. We need him on our side.

Ok I know that and still don't really care either way, I never did like the parrot anyway. By all means vote for what you want but I'll keep my vote where it is.

And not keeping him around could screw us over down the line.
Problem is here we don't have him saving the day as in 'Return of Jafar' ergo people are far less likely to trust him. It's why I did the write-in based on prompting him to be helpful.

Because it's a rather hard sell to suggest just leaving him alive to the Sultan.

We should be able to bring Iago around without the events of Return of Jafar. Fact of the matter, is that we don't have much in terms of magical knowledge, which Iago possesses even if he doesn't use magic himself. We can't rely on getting expertise on magic later on, specially with Genie currently gone.

Yes, meta-wise it's a good idea. There's just the issue of IC being able to sell the Sultan on reasons for keeping the bird around (as opposed to having parrot kabobs).
