Final statement since I tried to post this right as the thread was locked.

It is not my argument. We are working for him and for the Emperor. If the Emperor has us reporting to Heidi, as seems to be your concern, it's still a partnership with Heidi (she technically reports to the Emperor too and has no real power beyond birthing an heir). She cannot actually order us to do things against the good of the Empire (we simply go to the Emperor) and even if she could, why would she? That's why these arguments are very disingenuous.

"She wants to put her son on the throne" but in the same breath "she's untrustworthy and will have us sabotaging the empire". No she won't, she wants the Electors happy, so let us assume you're right and she is ordering us and for some reason we're taking orders from her instead of asserting ourselves, she'd have us going around helping the Electors same as the Emperor would because it's expected for an Emperor to use their power to shore up their position for their heir - Boney has said this.

Edit: Huh people were creating sock puppets for Waystone apparently - it's fallen in the tally.
Firstly I have never claimed that "she's untrustworthy and will have us sabotaging the empire" - I am aware that people have argued that, I haven't and I do not believe that she would sabotage the empire - she might sabotage other EC attempts to push for the throne, but not the actual empire.
You have only now added the emperor, and while yes we would be ultimately working for the Emperor - supported by the fact that is is he who can allow us to mess with politics - we would not be in an equal partnership with Heidi. It is she who will send us out. The fact that we report to her means we work under her - even as she works under someone else.

Overall my biggest concern is working full time with Heidi, which I personally do not want. My argument with you is to do with your statement that we would not work under Heidi, which I firmly believe to be incorrect.

There is another potential serious benefit to the Waystone Project, if we succeed: new waystones to connect Karak Norn, Karak Hirn, and Karak Izor to the Karaz Ankor network.

"I tried to chase down rumours of one during my Journeying, but when I got there, an Outrider patrol was riding down a group of cultists and the storm moved on and the Tower disappeared before I could circle around the battlefield. They're a magnet for trouble."

Clearly the most important question is which option will get one of those teleporting towers, they even come with their own special effects. Then once we have one we can load it up with cannons and research equipment and use it as our new ride.

Horses are old fashioned, time to make way for teleporting towers as the transport of choice.

Making new Waystones is kinda a super-stretch goal, as I understand it. The main focus of the project is just going to be understanding how to rejig and reprogram the already existing ones.

it is showing on that talley, but as governor of swamp town instead of just swamp town.

Frankly, I'm not sure why the job being offered is spymaster when he seems to want us more or less mainly for dealing with the skaven undercity.
Quest mechanics says there's 6 advisors and you can't make more, so if you want an advisor, you need to fit them into one of the slots. Spymaster fits better than the others.
