[X][Ami] Calculative Combat

I don't like tux-boy, but Jadeite is his subordinate. We'd want him to extend the same curtesy if it was one of our Sailors corrupted.

Your rolls stink man. Save your ego for something else.
Jadeite is literally killing people! What the hell! Get your priorrities straight!

Oh, Mars was able to awaken and transform from the first without a henshin pen? How very interesting. It places her ahead of the others in some ways, it would seem. Eventually, all the Senshi should be able to transform automatically without the crutch of the pens.

Regardless, it was a magnificent awakening for Sailor Mars, fitting for one whose namesake is the God of War. With her awakening, the fellowship of the Sailor Senshi is at last complete, at least in the ways that matter. Hopefully, Sailor Saturn will not need to be awakened to perform her function, and as for Sailor Pluto, given her duty and the complex nature of time, it will be as it needs to be for her, one way or another.

So, I noticed we're handing power-ups left and right this episode like it's the season finale. Is it the season finale, or are we going to top this somehow when the real final battle happens?

Not that I don't think we could top it, just wondering.

[X][Ami] Calculative Combat
- Add 10% of Learning (adjusted value 1) to Martial, and add 10% of Learning (adjusted value 1) to Prowess
-- Ami has learned how to think in the midst of combat, her every move planned out in advance, every action slowly moving enemies towards traps that they cannot escape.

-[x] Everybody else focuses on making sure Jadeite cannot escape.

I would vote no. But he does have a 10.....

Actually, it looks like the Crows gave her a transformation item:
The girl's eyes barely manage to focus on the two birds circling high above, but that moment of focus allows the girl to catch sight of the glimmering piece of metal falling from such a height. A hand snaps up, grabbing hold of the metal, as words push themselves through the girl's lips. "ᛗᚨᚱᛊ ᛈᛟᚹᛖᚱ, ᛗᚨᚲᛖᚢᛈ"

Does Calculative Combat's mechanical bonuses work better than Instinctive Fighter's in the long run with how Tuning converts the Senshis' Prowess into Martial? Or does it not matter and Instinctive Fighter has the math advantage regardless? I mean, I'm going to pick Calculative Combat anyway just for the narrative flavor, but I was wondering how that might work.

Let's actually try to take him down.

@Lunaryon , that was delightful- I'm going to have to reread a few times just to fully understand all that just happened, but it was really something.

Just feels right.

Tuxedo Mask's usual pattern is to fuck up then have a brilliant save. I'm going to put trust in hiim following pattern. Especially since he has Jadeite matched in Martial now.

[][Ami] Instinctive Fighter

Mechanically, this is better. Ami's at learnign 18, and 20% of that is 3.6->3 Prowess -> +3 to combat rolls, while 10% of 18 is 1.8->1+1=2 Prowess->+2 to combat rolls. Unless we're making Ami our Trainer, this is the superior choice.
Yeah, but I don't really like the flavor, and I suspect we'll sooner or later find a way for Ami's Learning to bump up another two points.

This is the climax of one arc within the 'season,' definitely. So it gets boss battle honors, if nothing else.

IIRC, for combat rolls (e.g the 3D10 rolled for Tuxedo), we need double 1s to get a crit fail, so on that logic,I think we need double 10s for a crit. He rolled 14 in total (1 + 3 + 10). Both he and Jadeite have a +27 bonus to their rolls. If Jadeite rolls 15 or higher, he'll win against Tuxedo and we run the risk of having him bail and continue to be a problem for some more time. I say we vote for no and deal decisively with Jadeite right here, one way or another.
Thankfully, I handle combat dice slightly different, and so it takes two separate 1s to get an actual Crit Failure.

Hell no! Its not a matter of purify or not its a matter of stupid honor or not.
We have him dead to rights. No need to get fancy. Everyone just mob him and then purify him.

Went ahead and did some testing with a few dice probability calculators... Jadeite has a 64.8% chance of rolling a total of 15 or higher on 3D10s. If Jadeite is for some reason debuffed by Sabão Spray or Sabão Freeze, his bonus would go down to 25, meaning he would have to roll a total of 17 or higher with 3D10s to beat Tuxedo's roll, which has a 50% chance of happening. The odds are not in our favor here, so we really shouldn't allow Tuxedo to duel Jadeite here and risk having him slip through our grasp.

EDIT: Please ignore this post and my other post on combat rolls, because I've misread the situation here. See K4lepo's post clarifications as to why my speculations were wrong.

Mercury just got a Crit this Chapter to get rid of her Untested Trait when she only had a single 10.
Every Critical during Combat and every other combat gives 1 progress to Overcoming Untested (2 combats until Untested Procs)
Tuxedo already used his 3 and 1 roll for this fight.
TUX? - 3 + 27 = 30
AMI - Wake up, get up, get out there - 3 + 19 = 22

KEIGAN - SHAPE OF!- 6 + 10 = 16
JADEITE - 9 + 27 = 36

AMI - Sabão Freeze - 10 + 19 = 29
[NAT 10!]
[Untested Overcome!]
TUXEDO - Fuck! These shoes aren't slip proof - 1 + 27 - 2 = 26

JADEITE - I need to get Nephrite to kidnap the next one - 4 + 27 - 2 = 29
Jadeite only has 1D10 to roll with, not 3.
