I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

I don't want to expand it for narritive reasons as well and because Soulcake has said anymore beyond our current size will lead to trouble I was just trying to give another angle to the argument.
 
I'd hold off on the expansion till we get a few more unique unit unlocks.

The nice thing here is we can table any decision on the chain request until after the conclave. It's only going to take one full turn and 3 actions on a second to do it so it isn't that big a commitment. The Valaya and Gazul ones feel worse just because they're back to back and we're stuck at 4 actions for so long. If we get an action reduction with the reveal that'd be nice.

If we don't take any extra commissions prior to it, it also means we've done three turns of research putting us at a solid 1:1 research to commissions ratio over the recent turns.

I reiterate, we have zero information on what a standing of >7 with a Cult actually means in mechanical terms. The only comparison we have is our home hold standing, which does indeed have a single boost to research on one category heavily linked to it. As it stands the Grungni standing could potentially have shaved off retainer actions from Defense in the Depths if we hadn't drowned it with favor instead.

You don't think it will be worth it, and that's cool, but it's by no means something carved in stone, much less the tier five super-adamant of a QM established precedent. Equally, I could be entirely off base.

Alright, here it is.

To sum it up for everyone. It finishes Armoured Maidens. It provides 2 Retainer actions to the Brana building a new home. It does not accept the Morgrim commission.

I really don't see the purpose of ordering new mats right now. I want to research damn it!

I could see expanding the retuine under two circumstances. First is some radical breakout need, IE, ships, gyrocopers, or similar, where we need additional dwarf power to actually use the capability. Second is if we begin to have a need to deploy assets to long term postings. If there start to be long walls in the North, and we are sending units of Hearthguard to hold strongpoints, I can see expanding them, because there is a clear and pressing need. Otherwise, the 3 actions are plenty enough.

And yeah let's stop Debt piling Karak Drakk it isn't really funny or necessary anymore. And kind of makes me uncomfortable to do now since all the dwarfs there feel shame on some level for not repaying our kindness.

Turn 50ish is when I am thinking we will want to start looking at new apprentices. A good eighty years of mostly research, followed by cutting back a bit and taking apprentices.
