Everyone kept talking about telling the police earlier in the quest, but now faced with the prospect, we get all these no votes.

The thing is not everyone was talking about telling the police earlier, and even then this is meeting the police on less than favorable terms. Also, personally, if I were supporting talking to the police in general talking to whoever shows up first wouldn't be the best option given that in theory, we could either find someone more open to listening or someone in the higher echelons.

Lots of people like the idea of working with the police but at the moment we're basically a bunch of newbies. We've only got a couple of weeks of experience and are still missing some team members. I at least want to be at a position where we have more experience and power on our side.

Edit:

The police will basically want to be "in charge" of us and that's something I really don't want. Although there's nothing making us listen to them I don't want to engage with that conflict with them.

Edit 2:

Ideally when we go to the police they'll have already heard about us as the people fighting the DK so they'll know who we are and that we're strong and competent.

As the police have been shown to be really sexist I think we'll need this.

Should probably meet with the police considering there is no way to cover up the battle, too many witnesses. Best to get some positive PR before the sensgi is seem as another gang or something.

1. The police are terrible
2. They are not needed
3. Talking to them is a risk
4. Even if the above were not true, this is a particularly bad place and way to meet them.
 
Would it be possible not to meet with the police, but leave a note with a a way to talk with them at a later date? say "We plan to call XXX police stations main line at XX:XX on XX day, to share XXX information on the DK, and ourselves."

so they have the right people to talk to over the phone at that police station, at the right time.

The glimpses of the police that we've had in this quest has convinced me that we need a stronger position in order for them to treat us fairly.

The question is, will refusing to talk to them now make it harder for us to talk to them later? Is it better to meet them in the ruins and cooperate now, or contact them later while us running now is in their mind?

We do want to work with the police in the long term, but we also want to do it on our terms. What is the best way to do that?

When we meet with the police, I want it to be through a talented PR Agent who has gone through an exhaustive Q&A with us and our accomplices to figure out what information we need to deliver to the police about the Dark Kingdom (and others) how to put it in terms they will find digestible, and thus take proper follow up actions, and just be generally prepared for setting up future negotiations and overall communication.

That sort of professional help is the entire reason I went for setting up the organization, so I'd prefer to wait for it to be set up. Let alone not talking to the police in the random aftermath of a battle with absolutely nothing prepared. We don't even know who we'll be talking to here!

Also, if we get Sailor Venus we should have something of an in with them.

I honestly want to get to the next turn as soon as possible. We've been very busy this turn and I feel the next one will be longer.

[X][Cure] These girls are a year younger than you are, putting them in the spotlight might not be the best idea, you can take the attention off of them by claiming full responsibility for what is going on.

While bluefur87 brings up the best case, desirable scenario, there's a simple truth where if you aim for perfect, you get nothing. This is happening now, and running away is liable to sour the Senshi's relationship with officials going forward.

Which is not to say this is going to go well, but it gives us something we can point to later and show we made an effort to cooperate previously.
 
I will say that leaving won't negatively affect your relationship with the cops, at absolute worst it will remind them oh how things were with Sailor V at the start.

They'll be annoyed, but at the same time, Vigilanteism is a crime...
