My big concern with Plan Clean-Up is that in order to find Naru and Sebastian (which will probably help with damage control and avoiding something like the police busting in on us after Pretty Cure wave motion gunned a hole in the ceiling), we end up giving up on "Calm Ranma down." I suspect that trying to get close to Akane to heal her while Ranma is in a maddened state isn't going to go well.

[X][Cinder] Plan: Getting the band together

I would think that Makoto could at least hold Ranma off (because Ranma's at best a berserker right now and, all else fails, Senshi are pretty durable) while Usagi handles the healing, but there are so many plans already that I don't feel like trying to write that in. (Plus now that I write out my logic it sounds really mean.)

"That... is a possibility." Honaka agrees, "But that raises the question of why Mister Tuxedo is at the theater."
What, can't he be enjoying a nice concert or musical?

secondary thought: we might want to spread the gems between our three "groups". Precures, Senshi, and Tuxedo. At least the enemy won't be able to take them all quite as easily.

First I want the mercury supercomputer to analyze them though, if possible. And/or Luna.

"You doubted memepo?"Mepple asks, sounding more than a little disgruntled
Damn that is annoying. Also we were really lucky with our mascotte. It's clearly a few (...dozens) tiers above theirs.

The stranger whirls, exploding towards Honoka and Nagisa, the blade pointed at their chests. And then...
JADEITE - All this blood is on your hands Sailor Moon! - 5 + 30 = 30
CURE BLACK AND WHITE - DUAL AURORA WAVE - 10 + 20 = 30
TUXEDO - Smoking Bomber Lash - 10 +21 = 30
[TWO CRITICAL SUCCESSES OVERIDES JADEITE'S SUCCESS]
...daaaaaaamn. He done fucked up

by the way, Tuxedo's should be 31, not 30.

I also just discovered that apparently Tuxedo's attack is a dragonball ki wave

by the way, An interesting fan-fact from Precure I just found out on youtube: when they say their usual attack and transformation phrases, they literally go on auto-pilot.

As in, between a sentence and the next Nagisa is once shown saying something like "What Am I saying?" and "I'm going to say something weird again!"

The rainbow light starts to fade, revealing the two girls, now dressed in completely different outfits. "Emissary of Light," the redheaded warrior dressed in black says, "Cure Black!"

"Emissary of Light, Cure White!" The dark haired warrior cloaked in white announces.

"We are Pretty Cure!" The Two say together.

Cure White points to Jadeite's still smoldering form. "Servant of a Dark Power..."

Cure Black instead points to Pisard. "Return to the Darkness from whence you came."
I'm forced to wonder: would they HAVE to say that every time they transform, even if there's no enemy around? :p

The Dark General is clearly stunned, and Tuxedo Mask sees the opportunity for what it is, he quickly throws a hand forward, "Smoking Bomber Lash!" The man calls out, releasing a shimmering burst of ethereal golden thorny vines from his arm. The vines curl and undulate as they cut through the air, grabbing hold of the general, before turning, swinging the man around the room and slamming him into the ground with great force.
... no ki wave? :(

The Demon general groans, dazed and confused. He tries to pull himself to his feet, but before he has a chance, Tuxedo Mask is upon him again, first kicking the sword from his grasp, before he stomps - But in that singular moment when the blade is flipping through the air, the General sees the one opening he has. In a flicker of black and red, the man is gone.
[One Medium Rare Jadeite has retreated]
why do ALL enemy generals have access to easy escape teleportation?

Why don't WE have the same?!

[ROUND FINA-]
"Fuck this." Pisard growls, "Sailor Moon was it? You will rue this day." The man quickly turns to the Pretty Cure, giving them a quick salute with the most sarcastic look on his face. "Legendary Warriors Pretty Cure, for once it was actually nice to see you. But do not mistake my kindness here for surrender. The next time we meet, I shall kill you." And with those words, Pisard's entire body seems to melt into shadows, fading away.
PISARD - D10 roll 1-5 = Retreat, 6-10=Fight - 3
PISARD RETREATS
a wise choice. He was the weakest fighter here, not counting nearly dead Akane...

At the same time, the cry of "Moon Tiara Action!" is brought forth, as Sailor Moon rips her tiara off of her head, whirling it around before throwing it directly at the head of the beast. The creature tries to dodge, but before it has a chance to move, the two Legendary Warriors Pretty Cure are there. Cure White grabs hold of one arm, while Cure Black grabs hold of the other. The two hold the creature in place, allowing the veteran magical girl's attack to strike hard and fast.
ah, nice Kōhai!

The Zakenna gives a groan... only to them pop like a balloon. The demon scatters into hundreds of tiny creatures, all crying out "Sorry! Sorry!" as they flee, each bounce that the little creatures do makes them grow smaller and smaller until they fade entirely, vanishing and leaving nothing behind.

"What...?" Sailor Moon asks, staring at where the creatures disappeared to.

"Finally." Tuxedo Mask says, leaning down and picking up his sword. "Caliburn. Back where you belong."

The battle seems to finally be over. "Mrrow?" Everyone turns to the source of the sound. The redheaded Girl kneels next to the shattered crater in the stage, looking down at the girl with a very worried look on her face. The cat turns, looking to the Senshi, before meowing again.

...What now?
yeah, the zakenna's death must look very strange.

well, Healing Akane is probably a priority. Other than that.. it's questions time!

SOMEBODY TIES TUXEDO BEFORE HE DOES HIS THING AND GOES AWAY!

(...by the way, Ranma did NOTHING!)

...What now?

..Damn, they're all good!

questions are good for both parties, but Akane is possibly nearly dead, and approaching her without trying to calm and/or purify Ranma seems unnecessary risky...

Well, we can PROBABLY delay talking with the precures, as long as we exchange contacts info or decide on a later meeting, but Tuxedo is more than likely going to disappear the moment we stop looking at him (also I think he doesn't have access to all his memories while in his civilian form...)

Is Mend the kind of spell that can benefits from more uses? I kinda thought it simply acted as first aid + improved healing factor. using it 2x or 3x shouldn't make a difference in that case.

By the way, I didn't notice it was FIVE picks. Initially it looked like it was THREE to me! This is MUCH better!

  1. TUXEDO MASK!!! We have questions and you owe us some answers (or at least an email address so we can talk to you later).
do we even have access to internet? Is internet even a thing for civilians yet? we're very close to the actual first appearance of commercial internet I think, and I doubt he has a computer. Maybe there's not even internet points around yet.

...Actually, do we just want to invite everyone for an exposition lunch party? We all sit down, grab food, and take turns answering each others' questions until everyone is satisfied? It looks like it isn't an option here, but it sounds like a win-win to me for everybody.
I'm not sure I believe/trust Tuxedo not to disappear mid-meal (or even before we invite him)

Jadite, staring at his hands: "Am I turning them into magical girls by trying to take them hostage?"
I SO want this to actually happen!

I very much agree. But 7 was 'Check on nice girl'

Literally every other roll involved attacking someone
well, better than Ranma attacking us.

And who knows, maybe we'll help him achieve control of this form, instead of simply removing it from him

after Pretty Cure wave motion gunned a hole in the ceiling
..wait, did the transformation actually destroy the ceiling?

Haven't learned it yet, obviously. :p

On a different topic, a thought I had is that the Silver Millennium likely had a different criteria for whether counting something as a planet or not: whether or not it had a Sailor Crystal associated. If yes, it was a planet, if there wasn't a Sailor Crystal, it wasn't a planet.

It's not about casting the spell multiple times. Mend isn't a fire-and-forget effect, it works by accelerating the healing rate of the targeted area for as long as Usagi continuously pours healing energy into it. So putting multiple actions towards healing Akane means that Usagi spends more time keeping the Mend spell flowing into her multiple broken bones and other injuries.

So my personal interpretation of the Pretty Cure transformation is based off of a lecture held by a Tokyo University Professor Yanagita Rikao.

During the lecture he essentially asked why the bad guys don't attack the Original Precure during their transformation sequence. He did some math based on the basic assumption that the transformation lifts the girls into the air using only the pressure of light alone, and came out to an energy expenditure of 2,100,000,000kW per 1m2.

or approx 21 times the entire electrical output of Japan in a year, and averages out to a 1.8 Megaton nuclear weapon explosion.

So yes. There is a section of the ceiling that no longer exists

They really ought to find a way to weaponize it.
I think they technically did...
"DUAL AURORA WAVE!" The world explodes as a towering beam of Rainbow Light, nearly thirty feet across at it's widest explodes up into the air, the roof of the theater all but evaporating as the beam hits it. The beam is large enough that Jadeite is consumed by the beam. It does not evaporate him, however the blast is strong enough that when the man is thrown back into the air, his clothes are blackened and charred, his face the red of a heavy sunburn, and he is smoking from the pure heat that the girls are giving off.
Though more he tried to kill the 'poor defenceless girls' then SUDDEN TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE INTERRUPT...
Jadite Negaverse: How were we supposed to know those two random girls were Pretty Cure members!!!

then, the Moon would also be a planet? And what about the asteroids for the future chibi-usa guardians?

...Actually, maybe the asteroids would grow to become planets in time? After all we have no idea how planets and stars are actually formed, except that it's obviously more complex than the current scientific explanation.

Then it's, again, not worth it. The "perform first aid/stop someone from dying" is basically instant. the "2x healing rate" is not really that relevant. I mean, how much of a difference does 10 minutes vs 20 minutes worth of natural healing make? If the first mend makes her "safe", then there's not much point doing the second.

Unless, of course, I'm wrong about the rate of healing. But it would take a 10x healing rate or more to make me think it's worth spending more time on it.

I think that's taking it a bit too seriously. if that's the energy of the transformation, what would their final attack be supposed to be worth then?

That's, after all, magical light. it doesn't hurt THEM, so it's logical to expect it not to hurt objects as well. Or maybe it would only hurt "dark" creatures.

Also, if that's really the power output... WHY IS JADEITE STILL ALIVE?

Though more he tried to kill the 'poor defenceless girls' then SUDDEN TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE INTERRUPT...

Yeah, that actual number is too high, but it is still essentially a massive blast of magical laser energy that would badly damage anyone who gets caught in it. Enough to destroy most general building materials caught in the blast.

well, unless we hand-wave it away as "it's NICE magic, it doesn't do that". But that's really up to you.

That would mean the Pretty cures left a lot of devastation every time they transformed indoor, unless you're simply modifying this for the quest.

I mean, IF they ever transformed indoor in canon, that seems like something that should be mentioned.

They... I think they have a few times.

At this point, this is the first time that they have transformed indoors, so it is a learning experience for them

I don't really agree with the arguments that Ranma will attack us for trying to heal Akane if we don't try to calm him down first. He seems surprisingly calm already to me, and is pretty obviously asking the Senshi to help her in his own animalistic way.

I'm personally guessing (based on how weak the Mend spell is) that one Action of Mend will function as first aid and stabilize her from getting any worse, while hoping that 2 Actions will be enough to bring her back to consciousness. An awake and visibly better Akane could then help reassure Ranma.

Yes.

That rainbow beam transformation is no joke. If the ceiling gets in the way, so much the worse for the ceiling.

Some day we need to bring them along against a menacing opponent who likes to levitate and weaponize that against them.

I am reasonably confident that light radiation pressure is not the only thing keeping the girls up, since otherwise it'd vaporize them and smash up all the air molecules in the beam path- you can't actually fire off a megaton-range directional beam in atmosphere, because the atmosphere would side-scatter it until it turns into a giant misshapen fireball anyway, possibly with an extra 'plume' of fireball sticking out of it.

But the overall point of a hugely energetic plume of holy rainbow fire, inimical to dark generals and the like, is certainly a very good answer to the question "why don't they attack during the transformation?" I imagine the Sailor Scouts have something similar, but not as... outwardly aggressive and destructive.

I think they technically did...

I don't think Mend works that way. I think you cast it and it, like... to borrow game terminology, it stops hit point loss from ongoing wounds, and it increases your natural healing rate, but you can't just cast it X times in a row to, for example, repair a broken bone in a matter of minutes.

If we're going to fully heal Akane, we need to either invent a better healing spell (Moon Healing Escalation is on the table), learn more about medicine (so that Usagi can actually fix what's wrong with people directly instead of just channeling positive vibes into them), or spend days transformed at her bedside casting Mend on her repeatedly.

None of those are options we can do right here. All will take research, effort, and active effort on at least next turn.
