I feel like going shopping in Chaos Vegas is one of those options that's only seriously thinkable due to the proximity of Chaos - it's like all those "we can totally use Dhar" options in Sylvania.

Thousands of traders each year pass through 'Chaos Vegas' and yes trade there. Before K8P it was the only semi-safe way to Cathay. Comparing this to channeling Dhar through our soul feels really alarmist,

I have no interest in seeing the little slice of hell that "Chaos Vegas" will be. I especially don't think it's the best idea to bring a convoy full of non-Chaos Dwarfs there.

You're talking about the costs, but in terms of actual cause, Slaanesh had all the reason to think that it was in the bag.

And they would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for that Meddling Mathilde.
We only need to use some favors to obtain a Steam Tank, paint it and call it « The Mistery Machine » (get it ? Because she and the Tank make and use mist ) to be a Scooby Doo tribute.

Would be great to get a trait of it and make it into our Wizard Lord/Lady signature move.
I am not sure deliberately miscasting is sane or, uh, Articles-approved, really.

But it's very Grey thing to fake a cast only to dispel instead, so something themed around fooling enemy casters into thinking you aren't trying to dispel...

Mathy yells out: Shadow bolt! While waving around her staff.

Then summons big sword and stabs.

Mathy: and that's my signature spell.

Group of apprentices: but that's not a spell!

Mathy: exactly!

A trait like that would be super cool. Though I wouldn't call it "signature move", because that implies it's something intentionally/planned to be used, and the trait won't allow that.
I meant turnng the trait into a spell that is effectively similar to what we did here, but more controlled.
Rite of Way is great and all, and i love it to pieces, but it is kinda not flashy enough to be a cool signature spell.

Also: is "Asuryan liked fighting Daemons so much, he wanted to do it forever" something from a canon source or canon rumor somewhere, or is it something you've created, interpreted, or clarified? Guessing that Khaine also must have really liked fighting Daemons, too. :V

It's one legend among many. It may be a mythologizing of Aenerion and Caledor disagreeing over the construction of the Vortex. A similar legend says Asuryan did so because Hoeth shared unspecified 'knowledge', because knowledge leads to progress and progress erodes tradition.

...was this one of the reason why you said the rolls was just that swingy?

Among several others, yes.

@BoneyM is there room for receiving a social visit like one of the social turns?

No. Here and now the initiative is Mathilde's.

How the (censored) could I know that? Presumably to lure us in the dangerous place.

How Temptation isn't Slaanesh's domain?!

Search for knowledge is. Search for excessive knowledges, on the other hand...

By that logic you can make anything Slaanesh's domain:
  1. Reading the Liber Mortis? Slaanesh
  2. Binding apparitions? Slaanesh
  3. Bending the Vow of Poverty? Slaanesh
I think we may have already Fallen. :V
