Well, it's not like she chose to inherit a metric ton of money. She cannot possibly have willingly exploited anyone to obtain this money, because she's too freaking young to even understand the concept. Worst case, she's an unintentional parasite, and hopefully we can redirect her parasitism into a form of semi-feudal informal taxation to support the at least well intentioned Silver Millenium, eh?

But said support doesn't have to come from immoral sources, they can create their own. A new, better way. :V

Also, while I agree she likely has good intentions, she's been raised amongst wealth and probably doesn't realize the bad stuff is actually bad, and I don't expect anything she creates to be untouched by the larger issues.

You are letting your biases against rich people affect your judgement. What bad stuff are you talking about?

Between this and the successful SAT Raid, I almost feel bad for the amount of Attention the Dark Kingdom is getting in a short amount of time.
 
So it's probably too late to change anything now, but can someone explain to me why the "questions" vote turned into a plan vote instead of a parallel vote? From where I'm standing it seems like it should have been parallel.

...I honestly did not expect this to be asked in this day and age, but here we are.

Think about how rich they are. Now think about how they got that way. Why, exactly, are they so rich, but their employees aren't? Shouldn't the profits be shared around some more? From what I can find, her family is so rich, that she's the one, in her series, that keeps the Masquerade up through controlling the media while paying people to destroy any records of them. She has her own intelligence network, with a spy satellite, and her own personal space shuttle. The company is described as a "zaibatsu", which while a bit on an anachronism, represent the sheer wealth, power and control the family/company is supposed to have.

Then there's japan's toxic work/business culture, of which a great deal has been said elsewhere.

Thanks to Alice's two best friends who are... relatively normal, Alice is a lot better than a lot of the super rich.

Now... Mind you one of those two friends is Mana Aida, and even ignoring the general (very stupid) discourse around Mana from people who call her a Mary Sue...

Well, being Mana's close friends introduces it's own foibles and idiosyncrasies to a person

Yeah yeah, but I find it absurd to act like a thirteen (?) year old girl who is earnestly trying to save the world from giant monsters is a bad person on account of who her parents are.

There comes a point at which it's just... fucking distasteful.

    Just of the opinion that there's a lot of unfairness, inequality and that it's pretty hard to earn more then 100 million and be able to say truthfully "I'm a good person".

    Rather my issue would be that a) having grown up amongst this, such things are normal, and b) unless the company is completely separate from the rest of her families businesses, there's liable to be spillover.

    Basically, I trust her intentions. I just don't trust her execution nor anyone connected to the business.

    I'm not sure where the "she's a bad person" comes from?
