Barreling out of the mist, one of Mercury's copies appears, a fist that ends in a blade of glass heading towards the girl's head, but Makoto has experience with things like this and dodges with ease, one hand lightly closing around the replica's fist, flipping her over and through the air, using the creature's momentum to move her. "Huh." Makoto wonders aloud, "You know, I thought this would be scarier."

There is a tinkling crack of glass on glass, and the girl realizes that entirely without meaning to, she has thrown one of the creatures into another.
Well, Makoto, you are punching at Prowess 36, which is frankly a lot closer to "literally a tank" territory (Prowess in the 50s) than to "regular people" territory.

She is quite possibly the most dangerous Good Guy thing that can reasonably fit indoors at the moment.

Hm, there are still the gym, radio show, pet store perfume, and shrine plots.

Decisions, decisions. Attending to the shrine next would allow for the recruitment of Sailor Jupiter, leaving only the return of Sailor Venus to complete the gathering of the Inner Senshi. On the other hand, it seems that Usagi's teacher has fallen victim to the radio show plot and is apparently unconscious or something of the like, so it may behoove the Senshi to deal with the radio plot first.
OOC we have reason to think the cops are closing in on the bus plot (they investigated it in canon even!), so ignoring it may well result in another scenario where a youma gets to eat a SWAT SAT team.

Usagi: "Don't worry guys. I know the plan is a little risky, but I've perfectly calculated our chances of victory."

Ami: "Aren't you failing Math?"

Usagi: "Perfectly. Calculated."
[MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH TEACHER POWER... ACTIVATE!]

There is a small but very significant difference between the calculations being perfect and the calculations being correct. In this case, small but significant enough to drive a bunhead through! :)

second thought, but with the youma escaping they now possibly know one of our next likely targets is going to be the gym, as they mentioned it in our presence. They might try to prepare a trap for us there.

Maybe we should consider ignoring it for now, and instead take advantage of their focus there to go and dismantle as many of the OTHER operations they have in progress?

That would be the radio thing, the pet shop, the disappearing bus (which also likely comes with MARS bonus)... I think that's all the ones we know about?

Well, that and maybe the pretty cure. If we met them we could maybe involve them in the gym operation, and spring the trap with a full team.

4 senshi + 2 precures, and maybe, if we're lucky, inuyasha and/or ranma cast would certainly help a lot to face even Jadeite, and if this is a trap he'll likely be there. Who knows, maybe Kagome's purification powers could help free Jadeite from whatever mind control is on him?

How many youma plots did we do this week?

I think we should tone the number down a bit this coming week, honestly.
Focus on the book, and the bracelets. Some self improvement stuff.

Though honestly, the plight of Usagi's teacher and little brother are fairly urgent, so I'd advocate we just focus on those 2 plots in particular next week.

Looking at the different floor buttons, Ami can't help but snort. The panel has been haphazardly removed and replaced with a layer of cardboard with holes cut out to allow access to the buttons. Then, there to the side is another button, one of an entirely different make with the letters DK on it instead of a number. The button is held to the wall with... Ducttape, rolled over on itself into a loop with all the stickiness on the outside. Crudely covered wires extend from the button before sliding under the cardboard panel.
...

I'm going to just throw my hat into the 'subconsciously sabotaging themselves,' angle for the sake of my sanity.

[X][Cinder] Go to the Managerial Offices to Speak to ???

Patron get?

For better or worse, Rei might also get herself roped in...

Yes, I would want to prioritize the bus plot for next week, as there is a chance that the police might crash it instead, meaning that the Senshi don't really have a further reason to investigate a certain shrine with a certain fiery miko girl...

We are in a talent agency. What are the chances this could lead to us getting an income stream separate from our allowance? Fighting a war against evil takes funds. Even Usagi had to make sacrifices.

[X][Cinder] Go to the Managerial Offices to Speak to ???

Manager: Pleasure doing business with you, ladies. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to analyze and collapse a pocket dimension, hire an elevator repair man (and pay extra for their silence), and I have to manage a PR disaster of a talent show that let through EVERY contestant in the try-outs.

Usagi: Oh, you're still going through with that? Oh no, what about the Want-It-Need-It spell?

Manager: I'm positive that I can find the means to dispel that enchantment somewhere in the pocket dimension, don't worry. As for the talent show, we've already paid for the advertising and the venue, it would be worse for our reputation to cancel than to see it through. Hopefully, disrupting the spell may cause some of the less...professional acts to rethink showing up.

Usagi: Out of curiosity, was there any act that you thought would win the grand prize?

Manager: Hmm, there were a few stand-outs. There was one very talented performance of "Fly Me to the Moon" on the tapes-

Usagi: That's great! Um, I mean, I'm glad that you'd be able to salvage something from the contest. I hope that singer is willing to show up again.

Manager: ...Yes. (smiles) Yes, I hope so too. Talent should be invested in, after all.

If they are a yoma we need to deal with them. If not then yaaaay a new ally.

Sailor Moon (definitely-not-Usagi): There was also a girl that was pretty good with a frisbee there, I think she had decent chances too!

Mercury and Jupiter give her a dirty look from behind...

So several people have brought up the idea of looting the room. I don't have a loot table made up yet, but I have added a new option to the vote.

I mean, it's specifically the pocket dimension, it's not like we'll accidentally be taking someone normal person's magical items.

...Come to think of it, I hadn't really considered the possibility of businesses being "co-opted" by the Youma, rather than being a Dark Kingdom company from scratch. Probably useful to take advantage of the work of someone who actually knows the industry they want to fake, along with solving...other problems. *looks at D page of phone book.*

Well as long as it we're only taking from the DK:

When you have a cast this overwhelmingly female, absent-mindedly misgendering the only male character in that particular story is gonna happen once in a while.

"Of course, then there was the more complicated but better defended methods of either creating a..." Ami trails off, one hand cradling her chin for a moment as she tries to think of the best way to explain the other spells. "The first is to essentially teleport into a 'Shadow Space', which from what little my research was able to turn up is some kind of cognitive replica of the surrounding space."

"A what?" Usagi asks, trying and failing to keep up.

"It is a space based on what you see around you - The text doesn't explain how they exist or why, just that they do." Ami explains a little further, hoping that that manages to answer Usagi's major question.
Is it just me or does that remind me of a thing I gather they do in Nanoha's setting?

For better or worse, Rei might also get herself roped in...
Yeah; there's a bad scenario where Rei investigates as or because the bus plot eats a SAT team. I doubt we'd straight-up lose her offscreen without a string of critical failures on the dice or something, but I honestly think we should track that one down next week.

1) We've already committed to the gym in our turn vote.

2) In-character, Usagi doesn't know about any of those other plots. She may be vaguely aware that the bus thing SOUNDS like a youma plot, and the radio thing is maybe kinda sus, and as yet the pet shop plot isn't even on her radar.

3) We have the option of investigating the gym incognito and blowing it sky-high later if it turns out not to be some kind of overwhelming threat to life and limb.

Well, that and maybe the pretty cure. If we met them we could maybe involve them in the gym operation, and spring the trap with a full team.

Tempting, and a fair point.

I'd argue the opposite.

Going by the performance of Sailors Moon and Mercury's new quest-canon spells, I think we're doing fairly well on power-up progress. Having Sailor Jupiter on-side is probably kind of sequence-breaking, too; I suspect she Prowesses harder than Sailor Mars.

I'm not saying we could casually throw around a dark general or anything like that, but we handled this youma fight a LOT more easily than the one at the cram school, for instance.

Though honestly, the plight of Usagi's teacher and little brother are fairly urgent, so I'd advocate we just focus on those 2 plots in particular next week.
The bus plot is also kind of urgent- the cops are closing in on it, and that's very likely to end in tears.

Since there really is no way that you'll be able to find out what happened to the first team of SATs, are you all interested in being told what happened to them?

Like, there really isn't any way to find out other than breaking into the Police Station and reading thier files.

Is it just me or does that remind me of a thing I gather they do in Nanoha's setting?
It does look like a barrier, although that could just be the fact that both are likely based on the concept of pocket dimensions.

I forgot, who is the current Superintendent-General of the police? Because if it's Natsuna Sakurada, she might be willing to scratch our back if we scratch hers. I'm talking intelligence trades, additional training, us teaching the police magic, and possibly even coordinated raids, assuming they'd ever allow it.

Admittedly, most of this is wishful thinking, but given her character, I can see it. Feel free to tell me if and why you disagree.

@Lunaryon, seeing as we're likely going to talk to the voice, any particular reason we would take the elevator, instead of leaving the building and looking through the window? Seeing as some people were worried about a trap.
