On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

No, they didn't because this isn't going to build the Hold. And we don't have 4 actions.

Yes we do, 1 action teaching and 4 action hold founding

(*New*)[X] Hold Founding: [Cost: 1 action, 1 retainer action] Locked in until end of turn 40. The political and technical finagling required to get an expedition equipped to form a Hold is one that requires a good deal of attention to make sure things get done properly. For the survivors of Dum this is an even greater necessity, as they quite literally suffered a near total collapse of their Guild and Clerical system after the betrayal. Apprentices will need proper Masters and the Dawi of Dum caught up to speed, and finding the right Dwarf for such a task is one of great effort indeed.

[X] Teach your apprentices: [Cost: 1 action] Locked in until end of turn 33. Soon.

We have to spend at least 1 action on hold founding automatically anyway this plan is just spending our other 3 action to make 4 Actions on hold founding

You have (5 -2) =3 actions this turn, 2 apprentice actions, and (2 -1) =1 retainer action.
3 actions this turn. Not 4.

The required action.

You don't see how starting their founding fully equipped with rune tools and help of builder Gronti might be helpful to them? Maybe even a connection to the underway.
Making a lot of assumptions with the Gronti and underway ideas. And just the flat 6 actions the task calls for would fully equip them to a standard Snorri would find acceptable. Burning all 3 action when we can just use 1 and a bunch of Favour and use the other two for other things is a waste.

I'm not doing it because I want to save favor with them, we only have 50. I'm pretty certain we can give them the best care without pulling the clerics in.
I think there's a bit of narrative oomph to be had by having Snorri drag everyone he can into founding the new hold. We don't need to spend a ton of Valayan favor, what's important is involving them at all. Which is of course why I also think involving our apprentices is a good idea.
It'd be a very powerful message. And also give our apprentices an opportunity to play a direct role in helping Snorri do his gift giver flex, which could have a massive character impact.

A hold isn't like a piece of equipment. There isn't really any max on how much overflow is useful. In which case might as well make the most use of our traits for the most total actions.

[X] Plan: Even Further Beyond with apprentices
-[X] Render Aid: [Cost: 1 retainer action] 1 Retainer Action
-[X] Hold Founding: [Cost 6 actions] Productivity Like no Other will proc. 3 Actions. 2 Apprentice Actions.
-[X] [Simple] Yorri's Request: [Cost: 2 apprentice actions]
--[X] Accept

Patently false. Once more, we. Are. Not. Building a Hold. We are equipping the people who will be building the Hold with TOOLS. And yes we can go overboard, it's called giving them more tools then they can even use.

[x] Plan Build That Hold and Rune Metal
-[X] The Rune Metal Pt. 1b: [Cost: 8 actions] 2 actions
-[X] Render Aid. 1 Retainer Action.
-[X] Hold Founding: [Cost 6 actions] Productivity Like no Other will proc. This is a great deal of work, one devoted wholly to crafting, ordering and coordinating with the survivors of Dum to properly supply them with the material necessary to found a Hold. While technically less difficult, the sheer scale of material required will be more than enough to make such a thing quite the daunting task indeed. 2 Apprentice Actions. 1 Actions.
--[X] A Favour from Otrek: [Cost: 10 Favour from Kraka Drakk] Can be taken multiple times. Gain 1 progress. You have some amount of influence on King Otrek. Normally you have little need or desire to ask him for aid, much to his dismay, but here the pull and weight of a King can be of great use. At the very least it will help the man lessen the crushing weight of the debt he and his Clan owe you. Sometimes you wonder if you went overboard. Bah, nonsense! 50 Kraka Drakk Favor
-[X] [Simple] Yorri's Request: [Cost: 2 apprentice actions] Due whenever.
--[X] Accept

Remember when we built the Miner? We can also make the builder. Even multiple builders. Awakening isn't a master rune after all.

Edit: Rangered.
Ok. First, to make a Gronti you absolutely need to use the MWaking. The standard rune isn't enough. It's literally the thing MWaking is for.

Second, instead of simply loaning out The Miner itself, which is currently just standing around looking intimidating, you want to make an entire new Gronti because... reasons.

Edit: Yeah, no, I'm noping the fuck out of this discussion, the shear level of white knighting is burning my brain.

Awakening is DEFINITELY a master rune of you want to make gronti. Lesser moving objects can be made with the lesser rune. But something on the scale of the miner definitely needs the master rune version

Pretty sure we're just yelling into the wind on this one Eva. *sigh* and we wonder why we never get any research done.
Imagine wanting to try and do mythical deeds when set in a settings era of myths. I trust Soulcake's capacity to make Snorri's commitment and productivity come to life on such a dramatic action a hell of a lot more than the condescension of two voters convinced otherwise based off little more than their opinion. We could see cartfuls of runic tools to break ground, swarms of prospectors and Brana to help aerially survey for an ideal Karak. Runic arms for all the doughty Dawi who defended their people in Dum. The Miner lent out to the Karak Dum refugees until the basics of their Karak is built. An army of miners and stoneworkers and carpenters to help however needed, courtesy of Karak Drakk.

Snorri near singlehandedly built part of the local Underway network by himself. Are you seriously suggesting he can't make a massive and monumental contribution to this? He was equivalent to a massive workcrew of dwarfs before he got the armor of tirelessness and a hammer with the power to literally whack materials to craft them into objects.
