Just checked the Armory and it doesn't appear that we have any suitable mind expanding gear for Mace to temporarily wear. I think we'll have to settle for casting Fox's Cunning and Owl's Wisdom on him ASAP. That'll make his realization of certain soon all the more appetizing.

I imagined when I was reading the update before the last one, when Viserys nat 20'd his Sense Motive roll, the tears she incited didn't even start to roll down his cheeks.

They just turned into vapor from sheer incandescent fury.
Fire and Blood, you know, what comes BEFORE the LOOT LOOT LOOT.
To be fair, we have not been following that maxim very well.

With us, it IS mostly "burn, then loot".

So Fire & Blood is definitely appropriate House words, especially what with all the blood magic...

-[X] Violet Spite Team: Moonsong, Balerion (with Varys in charge), Asha, Theon, Maelor, Rina, Aradia, Kyra

@DragonParadox, was there any significant profit for our Gods from the 40,002 HD (before modifiers) in Demons we've just fed them, or did it all go into Fey-killing?

Timmie's case was way different by default, since they ransacked some of her Divine portfolios...

They probably got a nice profit out of our sacrifice, 40k (+2) is no joke after all.

There are world wide apocalypses that started with way less.

I assume that they used a judicious amount depending on their domains

Yss and Merling King both have a way to kill, albeit not as good as R'hllor, whereas the Old Gods might have asked to take care of the Orange Court where blowing away their protections would mean that they would be vulnerable and eaten by Deep Ones.

So of all of them, R'hllor has the most firepower and thus bringing fire to bear is an easier ask, so he likely retained a good sum. I doubt he was stingy, since he wanted to be sure his hit would land and show he's more than picking up the slack despite being preoccupied elsewhere.

MK probably picked a target near the ocean, so that's a way to alleviate the strain of calling up his power. Probably a fair sum.

Yss probably would also get a good amount back from it, since he has divine weapons he can use, he just didn't jostle for position enough to get the target who would have fared worse against it.

All and all, I would say everyone got vastly more HD than what we spent on the Dawn Age tree for their own personal usage. Even the ones who had to flex harder to achieve an appreciable effect. They weren't lacking for juice to do it with.

This is the kind of major divine cooperation which can forge a serious Pantheon. The gathering of our allied deities just pulled off something that will become a major event in each of their religions, a tale that will be told and retold for centuries and millennia to come.

Even setting aside the HD gained, they might have gotten something out of the act itself. Gods don't exactly level up like mortals, but they do touch on something like the narrative logic of the fey. Just exercising this level of power might be significant enough to note on some sort of divine milestone exp system.

That actually leads me to another question though. Just how visible was this to the Westerosi? Most of the power got dumped into the feywild, but there are all kinds of connections some energy could have backwashes through.

It would be almost as metal as it would be inconvenient if half the forests in the Reach started glowing with death magic and divine curses when the ritual popped off.

It was a big enough event that the death-echo itself can't be hidden. Anyone running divinations after today will get a big heaping dose of "four gods nuked the absolute ever-living shit out of the Court of Stars" with a side order of "and Viserys Targaryen was behind it" by logical follow-through, because... who else would have the giant steel balls to do what we did?

Can you imagine how freaked out the Reach must be right now?

God, I would be thrilled with five or six Reachlord POVs as they literally feel the weight of the working seeping into the land. The Court of Stars' scheme just went poof.

Really shows the lords and pretty much everyone in Westeros that Viserys is not someone to mess with lightly and he IS the boss.

I was more thinking about the PR end of it. Most of the people with reliable enough divination to get useful information out of this before we announce are at least vaguely known to us by this point.

As long as the physical effects were limited to exploding fey who were on the PoB at the time we have a bit, but if settlements near feywild portals felt the shadow of R'hllor's pimp hand passing over them or had dreams of the Merling King drowning the Golden seer in his bathtub we might have a more immediate problem.

The Maho detectors over in Yi Ti probably just blew a fuse or ten, and there are likely a lot of Kami having panic attacks right now.

First against Tiamat, now against the Court of Stars. This is a crucible, and each battle forges them more and more into a proper Imperial Pantheon.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised by them regularly communing with each other.
Also, we are going to drag the Earth Mother and the Storm Father kicking and screaming into the Imperial Pantheon. We didn't even use all of the divine gods in the Imperium.
